Had a squirrel in our attic area.. Critter control came out in Jan. they looked around the areas & confirmed it was squirrels. They put a one way door and traps; said they would be back every couple of days. When they came back they asked if we heard any noise. Of course we said no, (We work all day & when we come home its dark; squirrels don't move around that much at night). They locked it up with a metal plate and took away the trap. Well guess what.... the Squirrel is still in there. It has been scratching around the metal plate causing HUGE damage in our roof .. and to make matters worse, the squirel decided to go on a road trip and now it has moved to the other side of the house- running up & down the walls! We bought more traps, called Critter control again & the tech said.. "IT should die soon!" (Tech didn't come out) He just told us to mark the wall so once it dies & the smell comes, we can cut it out!! Wait a min... WHAT!! Story gets better... very next day, Squirel scratched his way out of the walls & is now in the crawl space. Called Critter control again; left message. We decided to buy more traps, and a camera. the Squirrel walks up the camera and looks at it. We texted Critter Control showing them the footage - need someone out ASAP - they said they have no techs available. REMIND you this has been going on over a month Jan & FEB! I have had 3 appointments with this company. first one they cancelled due to running behind. rescheduled for a few days later. texted me the day before and asked what time and date my appointment was. I said tomorrow at 4. never showed up. I called and they said you were down for noon. said they knocked and I wasn't home. interesting since I have a ring camera and no ring was missed. manager Phillip called, said he can come Friday at 4. great, I come home and no one showed up , I called and they said oh it's between 4 and 6. wasn't told that at all! no respect for the customer. very polite on the phone however no follow through with their commitments. to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. read more

The technician called ahead asking if it was convenient to come earlier as he was ahead of schedule, which was nice. He arrived and was very quick. He looked outside at my roofline and inside in my attic. He generated the quote, emailed it to me and was on his way. Before he left, tho, he gave me a word of caution about another company I told him I received a quote from. Critter Control's quote was 2.5 times more than another company due to the fact that all my insulation would be removed and new installed. I was told by another company this is excessive for the little amount of bat droppings I had. The other company suggested I only needed to sanitize the impacted insulation. I'm honestly not sure who to trust. The on-site inspection and quote experience was fine; however 3 days later, I received a letter in the mail. Seemed odd since my quote was immediately emailed to me. And then I thought, maybe it is a thank you letter - that would be a nice touch. Nope. I have used Critter Control twice in the past and had great experiences! Both times they used one-way gates to prevent a critter from reentering once it had left. Then they patched the entry points. Last week I called about a raccoon in my attic. I was informed that I was a "new customer," because they had been franchised last time I used them. I saw some red flags, but proceeded to schedule an appointment. On the day of my appointment, I waited the entire 2-hour window, only to be informed by the tech (via phone) that she had been double-booked, and couldn't get to me. She said she didn't even know about my booking until she got a message asking what her ETA to my house was. She personally rescheduled me for Tuesday evening (5 days after the missed appointment, and a full week after I had initially called the company). Tuesday rolled around, and again no word for the entire 2-hour window. I texted the dispatcher with 15 minutes left, and they reassured me that she was still set to come. When I informed them that she never showed or called, I was told that my issue was being "escalated" to a manager, who would be reaching out this morning. I'm the meanwhile, would I like to reschedule for their next available appointment this Saturday? (No, I would not, until I hear from the manager.) Today...no call from the manager. This is the 2nd time I have a rave review for Critter Control. First time was a squirrel in my attic. This time MOLES! Critter Control came immediately, set the traps and caught the destructive guy the first day. They continued to check for a week to make sure he had no friends who came looking for him. It was amazing the amount of damage the mole did in a very short time frame. I'm so glad we got such quick service. Jeremy was our service person and he answered all my questions each time he came to check the traps. Everything he said made perfect sense. These guys are professionals. You can tell from the minute they walk up to the door they know what's up, they'll take care of it and your headache is going to stop. I apologize for only remembering 1 or the 2 people who stopped by to fix my issue. Mr. Bullington was professional, to the point and at the same time down to earth and had me laughing about the process by the time he was finished minutes later. I've since been at a stoplight next to one of there green trucks and we both had our windows down. I told the guy what a great experience I had and we shot the breeze until the green light came back. THAT'S good business. He could have ignored me. Mr. Bullington didn't have to crack a joke to make me feel at ease. Terrible customer service but love to take your money. Tech did a bad job of inspection, just stuck his head in attic. Had he done a proper inspection he would have known about issues that was going to come up and situation could have been dealt with differently. Clean up tech became aware of the issue in the beginning and should have brought it to my attention immediately! Job should have been stopped and approached differently! Machine that removes insulation had bad hoses that leaked dust in the house. The same dust that they warn you about having diseases and parasites! I was told to just clean it up with Lysol! Tech didn't apply the clean-up treatments anywhere in the attic. The "bill" they emailed me isn't even right or my account online. There are so many other combined names of companies on your contract and bill that you won't know who you are really dealing with. Rollins, Trutech, Critter Control. All different phone numbers that send you to the same customer service. They don't tell you up front how long it will even take to get you scheduled. 16 days for an excluder then 6 weeks to get a clean-up, if you're lucky. My initial contact with Critter Control was not a good experience at all. The tech did not do any extensive assessment of my concerns about raccoons in the attic. After making a complaint, a working supervisor, STEVE, came out and did an amazing job of pin-pointing the problem. Over just a few days, the raccoons were gone and he did an awesome job of repairing the extensive damage the critters had done. Steve was very kind and answered all of my questions patiently......even provided me with some much-need education about raccoons. Steve is a real asset to the company and has a wonderful work ethic. The company went over and above in making good on their promises and I will definitely use them again if needed, and I recommend them to others. Initially called Critter Control because we believed we had squirrels inside our house. They came out, looked at the outside of the house, walked on the lower part of the roof and said they couldn't see where they would get in. The inspector then said "I've been doing this for 30 years, I bet its mice." He then sold us a $900 bait system for the year. That night we had squirrels running around in our house in between floors. I called them back and they have been completely unresponsive since then (I have called them around 10 times, left 5 voicemails, spoken to the worker who comes to replace the bait stations). 100% would not recommend as not only did they misdiagnose our issue, they are completely unresponsive. read more

I called Critter Control because we had raccoons find their way into our attic. It was a female and 4 of her babies. They assisted with getting the babies out of the house so that they could be taken elsewhere. We were also able to run the mother out of the house and board up the entry points. They are usually pretty punctual and easy to get along with. They can present you with a few options of how to deal with the animals and the communication is pretty clear and to the point. The only downfall is that they are a little on the pricey side, but overall I had a good experience and would recommend them to others. read more

Initially, The service was outstanding, and they did what I paid them to do.(trap/remove/and repair damage completed by a racoon) After the work was a different story. Initially 400 dollars was paid so that the work could begin. After the work was completed the remaining balance of 399.00(odd amount) was paid and I was a satisfied customer. This work was completed towards the end of May. On 6/13/18 I received a call from my wife who stated that a service tech was at the door stating that the company did not receive the balance of 399.00 I quickly found the check number and confirmed it with my bank that it was negotiated on the 5/29/18. This was all completed within several minutes while I was in my office. My wife told me that the tech waited outside, and I told her to tell him to standby as I was on my way to speak to him. Additionally, it took me as the "customer" to call Critter Control of Indianapolis and speak to two different reps before they located the "missing check." I let both customer service reps know that I had an issue with a service tech showing up unannounced demanding payment in error with my wife. Both of the reps apologized, and stated that this is not their normal practice to send a service tech instead of a re-bill of the invoice. She stated service tech had a service call nearby. I don't believe this for one sec. I believe that they error d, and felt money was still owed and sent their service tech to attempt to collect payment on a bill that was already satisfied. I rarely write any type of reviews, but I do when I feel a customer should be warned. I also refrained from the using the reps names as I am a professional and don't want to shame the staff or the company further. The operations manager also called me back as I was on the way to my residence to speak with the tech. Guess what? She told him that it was their mistake and he was already gone before I even arrived. I live on a pretty wooded lot, with lots of tress etc. I'm sure we will need another pest control in the future, but it will not be CRITTER CONTROL. EVEN IF I HAD TO PAY MORE. YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY SHOULD BE REVIEWED. Moral of the story... I contacted Critter Control the morning of 6/24/20 and was informed that a tech (Jeremy) would come out the same day although uncertain of the time & he'd call when he was on his way. I called back at 3:30pm to inquire if he'd still be coming out that evening and was told that he would contact me. Jeremy did not call or show. I called back this morning to report that he was a no-show/no call & was informed that my appt was moved to today. This is very poor business. He could have at least called to say he couldn't make it yesterday and ask me, the customer, if I wanted my appt rescheduled for today or at all. If I hadn't of call this morning, I guess he would've just shown up today. I am so glad that I didn't prepay the $99 inspection fee. We had a problem but no one seem to be able to figure out. Evan from critter control not only helped us identify the source of our issue, he also took pictures to illustrate the work that needed to be done and even found evidence of subpar work from our plumber that we were able to get fixed before more damage occurred. Jon and (a different) Evan came out and worked efficiently to rehab our crawl space and fill the gaps so rodents could not get in. The guys came out and went out of their way to make sure to cover and inspect and every inch indoors and out of my duplex to help me also with preventative maintenance. I love wildlife as much as anyone else.... but NOT in my attic. During the winter, a racoon had taken up residence in our attic. Needless to say the damage and mess was extensive. We contacted Critter Control and Evan came out to examine the problem. He quickly identified where the racoon had gained entrance and assessed a plan to clean up the mess. , We were kept informed during every step of the cleanup and the job was completed exactly as it was planned. Evan even help us file a claim with our insurance company. I highly recommend Critter Control if you have a similar issue as they are very professional and their work is exemplary. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this company! Brian is awesome and caught the pesky raccoon that was in my attic in the bad weather. Took a week, since we kept catching a squirrel, but after he took the squirrel away, TA DAAAAAA, raccoon. The company gives a 30-day guarantee (they were willing to keep the traps out and check every day for a month), but problem solved. It's been 2 weeks and no more critters in my ceiling.
