First time at Crockett's for Trivia Night Tuesday and my friends and I had a good experience. My Philly cheesesteak wrap + fries as well as their beer cheese was delicious. Pretzel to pair with it could have been better/fresher, and I did not enjoy their tacos, though it was only $1 for their special. I tried my friends buffalo chicken waffle fries and they were great. My friends enjoyed their wings, though they said there could have been more meat on them. The burger was very dry & the regular loaded fries were a bit burnt. It your typical bar/restaurant with low lit lighting and different montage of WVU, license plate, beer signs decor. They also have a back patio. Service was good, though I think they could have used another waiter/waitress on a busy night like trivia. read more

Tony and I had never stopped in this bar before while in the Morgantown area. Today was our first time and the building looked so small. Once inside it was larger than it appears outside. The place was packed and I was assuming because of NFL Wild Card Games but everyone was having fun. Only thing I didn't like was the vaping in the ladies room. I have lung issues and go to Morgantown over medical appointments. We seated ourselves in the antique wooden booths!!! Loved Loved Loved the older booths!! Definitely would go back again. We had a couple beers and soda for me (designated driver). Highly recommend!! We only had a few drinks because we ate earlier. read more

I almost exclusively come here for karaoke. Not only is the vibe of the place bouncing and positive, it's welcoming to many genres of music. This is my regular karaoke place and I love it! Food is always good. I normally get the chips and queso, or one of their quesadillas. My fiancé loves the wings and fries. Servers are always attentive and fast. Food--Wings (Cajun Wet) were awesome! They were very saucy an' flavorful. The side of ranch sauce was really good too, as well as the side of hot Buffalo sauce. I also had the Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla that was delivered as hot an' tasty as the wings were. Ambiance-- Fair atmosphere, many TVs to watch your favorite sporting events. Had the real feel an' ambiance of a true dive bar to accommodate the most seasoned drunk. So give this good food place a second thought before bringin' the young'nes. Environment--Cleanliness was fine, well maintained an' what you'd expect from any restaurant selling an' serving food an' spirits to customers. Did not go to the restrooms. No objectionable or extraneous smells, sights or sounds. Service--Our service was phenomenal without being hovering an' annoying. Biggest knock, way to dark inside the facility. New to morgantown and discovered this place because it was a block from the air bnb we stayed at while waiting to close on our house. The staff for the most part is very friendly and seem to work as a team. The girls behind the bar work their butts off! They do a great job. There are incredible drink specials every day and the drinks are all delicious. As for food I've only tried the nachos and they were the worst I've ever had. I probably should have gone with a safer bar food. Something fried. Anyone that eats nachos knows they arent really nachos if the cheese is solid not liquid. they use shredded cheese thats hardened by the time they got to me. And as if using shredded cheese isnt bad enough, they barely put any cheese on! If you're going to use the wrong cheese at least load it on! I was digging through my pile of chips looking for ones with cheese. So barely any cheese and no cheese sauce, which means all the other toppings just fall right off when you pick up a chip. So mainly I ate a few empty chips that I dipped in sour cream and salsa. Also the chicken was so flavorless it was shocking. No taste to it at all. Youd never be able to guess what you were eating. So my vote is to stay away from the nachos. Try something else. Or just drink because every drink I've had has been perfection. It is a cool spot though. Just moved to the Morgantown area for a job transfer and was looking for a local "dive bar" to replace my old stand by favorite back in South Dakota. I'd have to say Crockets was absolutely what I was looking for. Great attentive staff, amazing food and not overrun with all the amateur hour college drinkers. We had 15 wings, 5 Cajun dry rub, 5 Honey BBQ and 5 Teriyaki. The wings definitely did not disappoint and this coming from a self proclaimed wing snob is a great compliment. They were crispy, large and flavorful. Also went for for the waffle cut fries, they were seasoned nicely and of the two sizes offered the larger was perfect for 2 people. Beer selection was fairly large and included domestic as well as a decent selection of craft beers. The long Island iced tea was delicious and was offered in original, peach and raspberry flavored. We went for the peach. Long story short this is a little inconspicuous gem that doesn't look like much from the outside but has a great small town vibe inside with all the eclectic decor and is much larger inside than it appears from the road. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend if you're looking for great food (at least what I had, looking forward to trying some other items), great service and a small town bar vibe without the college drunks. Lol read more

Crocketts has become a regular hang out during our annual pilgrimage to Morgantown. Food is always good, service too, but we have consistently enjoyed the bands on each of our visits. Crocketts can get crowded but a table or bar spot always seems to open up. Also crocketts has a pretty decent draft list from local breweries! read more

Food is pretty good. Staff is hit and miss, depending on the night. Slow, no greeting, no service. Had to ask if they even had waitresses to serve tables. Turns out our waitress was out front smoking a cigarette as we came in. Concerning on a Friday night before a football game. Management should consider letting undedicated ladies go. read more

This is one of the few places I actually miss in West Virginia (no offense). I used to come here on weekends my senior year in college for their happy hour specials. The beers on tap were cheap, the music was awful (in a great way), and their buffalo wings are unrivaled. Incredibly cheap buffalo wings (at the time I think it was a dozen for $5?). Great to come with a couple of friends, cram into a tiny booth and drink the night away with some great appetizers. Their parking lot is tiny so it fills up pretty quick, especially weekends, but they have another lot across the street. They usually start to check IDs around 8pm but before that there's no bouncer at the door. They have a decent game room in the back, a couple of pool tables and stuff. I went back to visit last August (2008) and Crockett's was my first request; just can't beat their wings. How I miss thee Crockett's!! read more

This place is a WVU icon. I spent a great deal of my college days here, and I always try to stop in when I make my way into town. Crocket's have no equal of sure, but the thing that keeps me coming back is the service and atmosphere. It is warm and inviting with cozy booths, and I know that by the end of the evening someone will breakout in song or dance on a table which always makes for an entertaining time. read more

This bar is the reason (yeah I said it) the reason I came to WVU. I came up here on an interview trip, went out with some of my future co-workers, and Crockett's is where we went. I've never seen a bar with such a local feel. The drinks are average in price. The bartenders are friendly and treat their regulars well. But, the food is the best surprise I found. Crockett's has the best wings HANDS DOWN of any place in Morgantown. They keep it simple with only a few flavors, but they are crispy and sauced perfectly. This place is solid. Cheap (or at least reasonably priced) beer, friendly bartenders, pool tables, and occasional fun diversions (karaoke night, I'm looking at you). I'm not a regular, and haven't tried their food, but apparently it's not bad (and, again, pretty cheap). Never been disappointed by the atmosphere, which is usually pretty laid back. Definitely not your typical, over-the-top downtown bar. That being said, when I'm looking for a laid back night with the guys, want to grab a pitcher or two of beer, and play some pool, this is the spot. While they do have the best wings in Morgantown, new ownership has sadly led to this being an okay bar with an overpriced menu and mediocre service. Having lived next door for 2 years, and in the area for 10, it was a regular destination that would always be the first I'd recommend, but unless you're just looking to throw back a few drinks while you're waiting on your wings to go, I'd suggest elsewhere. read more

About 5 minutes out of mo-town, its a little bit away from the busy ass downtown, which could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your plans for the evening. I am from LA and i am driving around the country. I stopped by this bar yesterday night and it's fantastic. If you want to get away from the students crowd downtown, this is a perfect place to meet locals. I loved it. Great music, wood bar, very welcoming and warm. The service was awsome. Bartenders, waitresses and the bouncer work perfectly together. I have to give a special thank you to Jenny who is very charming and very professional all together. I gave it one star because I can't give it zero. Service was non existent. Waited 35 minutes to order a beer in a bar that had 9 other people in it. Ordered two beers as it was buy one get one, waitress brought one. Never could order food. She never returned. Charged me full price for a beer even though it was happy hour.
