During our stay in Montreal, we got pastries from here at least 3 times, would take them back to our airbnb and make breakfast with all the beautiful pastries on a plate so we could share. The star of course being what the bakery is named after. Probably one of the best Croissants I've ever had. So flaky and airy, truly one of the best. They also carry croissants that are vegan. Regular croissants were only 2.15!! For some reason though, every time we'd try to order baguettes they were always out so I'm guessing that they're spectacular as well. There was one day where I ordered a croissant that had cinnamon and raison and was shaped more like a cinnamon roll than a croissant and oh my gosh was that good! I've always wanted to get here, they make the most amazing pastries and they also make vegan croissants that are sent to many other cafes in Montreal. I tried their chocolatine with a milkadamia latte and it was nice and flaky and soft inside with the perfect amount of chocolate! They also had vegan croissants, vegan brioche and vegan muffins, so you don't feel left out at all as a vegan there. I could also use my reusable cup, extra points for being eco friendly, not many places are! Definitely take a look at their coffee merch, they're high quality. read more

I came to Montreal for New Year's 2022 in the hope of finding brilliant croissant. I hoped a place that had croissant twice in their name would take laminated pastry as seriously as I do. Unfortunately the croissant au beurre at Croissant Croissant were disappointing. A moderate shatter gave way to a dry interior with a poor butter flour ratio and not much hint of malt. 4.25 out of 10 on my personal likert-type rating scale. Guys i am pausing my long weekend break to come and report to my fellow yelpers about the promiseland of croissants. If this isn't love, then I don't know what is. We went to Christian Maison Faure, O+G, Pâtisserie Au Kouign-Amann, Pâtisserie Rhubarbe, Fous Pâtisserie, and croissant croissant. We unanimously agreed our buttery flaky treats here were the best by far. I am not a big fan of chocolate(i am more of a lemon dessert fan) but this had a nice balance of almond paste and chocolate filling. The filling wasn't overly sweet and the croissant was as flaky as it was crunchy. The latte was great too! I am not sure how well known this place is but wanted to make sure that as the ambassador of butter, i have done my due diligence in spreading the word about this place. read more

We noticed the 5 star reviews at Croissant Croissant and decided to stop by for a coffee and pastry. We ordered a small late (which was large for my standards!), a cappuccino and a macchiato and all our coffees were excellent. All their pastries looked fantastic but the abricotine, the raspberry Danish and Banana chocolatine caught our eye! They were really good, the puff pastry was flaky and buttery and the fillings were packed with flavor. We enjoyed the pastries so much that we ordered one more before leaving, the Mirabelle (a type of plum). I've never seen a Mirabelle pastry and it was excellent. Lovely café! Line Moves quickly, service was excellent and even though there are just a few tables their is a fairly quick turnover. read more

Besides coffee, the cafe sell sandwiches, quiches, and salads, as well as a variety of baked goods including, like the name implies, croissants. On my last visit, I purchased a tall latte and croissant for a total of 5.50$, which is wayyy inexpensive compared to other spots on swanky Plateau! The coffee was perfection; flavorful and rich, and I really enjoyed the little heart as coffee art ;) After last night's carb fiasco, I donated my croissant to a coworker, who described the croissant as flaky and buttery good (I only bought it cause you need a minimal 5$ for debit). The smell says it all even before you walk in. Deliciously crispy butter croissants in all variations. You can not only smell but also see that they're freshly baked since the bakery in the back has large glass windows and you can watch the bakers in action. If you want to sit in, don't expect majorly comfortable seating. It's set out to be a take-away cafe/bakery that also has four square tables and a few high seats by the window and in the back. I love this delectable French pastry so naturally a place called 'Croissant Croissant' will catch my attention and pique my interest. This particular café is located pretty far east on Mont Royal so it is a little bit outside the main Plateau area but it is worth the visit. There isn't much in terms of seating so you might be wise to take your order to go. On my first visit I was there later in the day so there wasn't much left except for some vegan options and the traditional butter croissant. It was so flaky and buttery but I wanted to come back and see what their other offerings were like so I made a point of going early one Saturday morning. This time I was rewarded with an abundance of choice and decided on a raspberry type of croissant, which had been baked to perfection. The pastry was flaky and crispy on the outside, while being soft and buttery on the inside. It also had a raspberry puree filling which was refreshing. The prices are fair for the neighbourhood and this shop as a whole is a fantastic spot to come on a weekend morning. read more

I especially enjoyed being able to see the kitchen through the glass windows where I was sitting. My friend and I found a quaint little corner on the pale green vintage couch. I went out of my way 40 minutes to get the croissant just a plain croissant walked in -12°. Still worth it very much so. I had both the plain croissant as well as the lemon glaze both are wonderfully light fluffy without being oily greasy battery or any of that that you Correlate to a croissant in the state. read more

HOWEVER the reason why I've given three stars is that I was unable to tip staff due to the management not setting up the card machine to offer a tip option when you tap your debit/credit card. I found this really frustrating and unfair, especially as the staff I interacted with were so professional and friendly. If the owner is paying a living wage for Montreal (around $20/hr) then this is a moot point. If not, servers need to receive tips! Obviously business is booming here and the staff work really hard. It would be great if the management ensure they are compensated for what they do. In the meantime I recommend not tapping or to bring a little change! read more

Great little bakery nestled in Le Plateau Mont-Royal. The service is great and the baked goods are delicious. The space is quaint and cosy. They have delicious hot chocolate that warms you up during those cold winters. My partner and I couldn't get enough of their chocolatine (chocolate and almond croissant). I'm from British Columbia and this was my first time visiting Montreal so needless to say, my french is terrible! But I was determined to at least try to speak the language. The girl who served me at Croissant Croissant could speak english but could tell I was trying to speak french and she was very kind with helping me order what I wanted. So, the service already was amazing. Secondly, the entire reason I made the effort to stop here was because they have VEGAN croissants. I haven't had a croissant in years and this one did not disappoint. A little crispy and very flaky on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. So delicious. I also got a macadamia milk latte and that was splendid as well. This cafe has a great variety of plant milks including oat, almond, soy, coconut and macadamia. I always go just for the regular croissants because they are just perfect, and I don't have the world's biggest sweettooth. The croissants have the perfect balance between crunch and fluffy insides. They always have a nice selection of other pastries to try, and they have some savory options including sandwiches on house-made bread. Pretty cute, glad they're in the area. The only negative thing I have to say is that their coffee/espresso is not so great and fairly acrid, a shame because a great espresso would complete the perfect simplicity that this place has with its croissants.
