Came here to check out their cronuts since in NYC we are used to the ones made by the famous bakery that had made them popular. Unlike the NYC bakery, they have a few flavors as oppose to the flavor of the moment. We decided to get the chocolate and pistachio flavors. The cronuts have a basic croissant-donut base with a flavored creme filled in the hole in the center. The chocolate one was like a chocolate icing. The pistachio was a light flavored whipped creme with a sprinkle of the chopped nuts. The cronut itself has a light flavor and is airy in texture like a croissant. We also tried their cannoli. The cannoli is no way like the classic ones that we know. Their filling resembles more like whipped creme with the classic cannoli shell. Overall the pastries are pretty decent, but not the best I've had. read more

Went specifically for the cronut! My husband surprised me because I fell in love with cronuts at the original place in NYC. This place did not disappoint. The staff was great and the cronut did not disappoint. A cronut is a donut and croissant combo. They are cheaper than in NY which is nice. Quality is still great. Not as good as the original makers but I would totally get it again because it was still great and cheaper lol. Cannoli was also fresh ! Also helps when the Atmosphere and service is nice. Cute bakery in a nice neighborhood. Some coffee shops already offer La Cornetteria cronuts, but coming here for the fresh ones makes the experience so much better. Small seating area and WiFi available if you'd like to sit down, enjoy a cannoli or another baked good next to your coffee. People who work here are also very welcoming and friendly. As for the cronuts, both the ricotta and the Nutella were absolutely delicious. The creaminess of the ricotta cronut made it a favorite for me, but if you like your pastries on the sweeter end, go for the Nutella cronut. Dropped by around 4 PM on a Saturday and there was nothing left to buy! Place closes at 6 PM and the young lady was more focused on cleaning up the shop to close up early. When asked if this was all they had for today, she shrugged and basically told me the place closes up soon. No sweetheart that's in 2 hours and it's Saturday! All is being offered are leftovers. Another client came in just after me, standing behind me.... we locked eyes, shrugged and left at the same time. Yeaaaaah, don't bother coming here if you're not here within the first couple of hours of operation. Holy cronuts! This place usually offers the same type of cronut every day (custard when I went) and then another that varies from day-to-day. The specials of the day have included salted caramel, coffee, praline, and many more. These desserts were meant for me because they're cute and delicious. I loved the praline which which wasn't as sweet as the others, but so flaky when I bit into it. The sprinkling of sugar all around is also a nice addition of texture and sweetness. Also tried a Caprese panini from here which was good. However, the cronuts are definitely the hot item here. It's worth mentioning that the place has a wonderful owner. Location: Little Italy, on the Main. You've probably walked be in a hundred times without even noticing this place, unless of course, you happened to be walking by while they were baking. Then the smell probably pulled you in. The place: Small, nothing fancy. The goods: I stopped by to pick up some strawberry Cronettos to accompany my Olimpico coffee early Saturday morning. I'm generally not a fan of donuts and neither is my date, however we both got great enjoyment out of those Cronettos, let me tell you. I was worried they would be sickeningly sweet but was pleasantly surprised, as this wasn't the case. The strawberry cream was super light and while there was a little too much brown sugar (?) on the doughnut (it ended up in my lap of course), I didn't find this pastry to be heavy at all. Great flavor, though a little messy to eat! Make sure you've got some napkins! Service: OK. Price point: Honestly, at $4 a pop, they're expensive. Zeppole and cennolli were both really delicious. The whipped cream had something special in there and made them strode out from all the other pastry shops. But the pecan tart was below average. The crust was really hard and tough and the pecan filling was tasteless. Also, I was quite disappointed in their cleanness. Cronetto? Yes, please! I got to try two variations of this Italian "cronut" - original custard and then Nutella which was flavor of the week (I think). These were my first cronuts, but they were amazing....everything I imagine a cronut should be - sweet, flaky, light yet indulgent. I could eat one every day! We also tried custard donuts and macarons. The donut was filled to the brim with custard - a perfect (if naughty) breakfast. The macarons were delicate and crumbly when bitten. We rubbernecked this place a bunch of times before trying it but once we finally did, my date said "well, I'm probably going to get one of those every time I walk by from now on forever." After reading that La Cornetteria had their own version of the cronut, the cronetto, I couldn't resist swinging by to try one while in the area. It's a tiny cafe that has been nicely decorated and there are some very nice aromas that greet you when you enter. The cronetto costs $4 so it is a little on the pricey side but if you try it once it is definitely worth it. It's filled with custard, flaky and sweet. I enjoyed it quite a bit although it was kind of messy to eat. They also make a really good capuccino which totally beats out chains like Starbucks or Second Cup. I definitely need to go back to this place to try more of their pastries but the next time I'd go for their cornetti which also looked really good. read more

This shop looks decent and small. The cronuts were not that great. They have this yellow sugary topping that completely clashes and over sweetens the cronut because of its vanilla filling. Hard to take a walk in Little Italy and not stop by. The staff here are all super friendly and they let Hibou come in no problem (they also have a French Bulldog.) I love all of the yummy pastries and they range from light and fluffy croissants, to full on custardy heavy like their famous cronut. The cronuts which are 4$/each!!! were stale and disgusting...I've had cronuts many times so I know what they're supposed to taste like. To make matters worse, the cannolis were just as gross. The cronuts are alright, though were a little dry. I arrived early on a Friday morning to pick up two cronuts, and was dismayed that I did not see any in the case. When I asked if they were available, the person at the register called to the back, and out came the owner carrying two full trays of freshly made cronuts. Despair turned into joy. Not only did they have cronuts, but I would be the first one to have a taste. I eagerly ordered two cronuts - one for me and one for my boyfriend - as well as an espresso macchiato (they use Lavazza espresso, so the coffee is pretty decent!). The cronuts, however, could use some improvement. They were a tad dry for my liking, even though they were fresh. I tried the custard flavor. The custard was piped on top of the cronut, rather than inside the cronut, like the original version found in New York. Perhaps the cronuts would be less dry if the custard were piped inside the cronut and the cronut were topped with an additional glaze. Overall, the cronut experience here was ok.
