While on a walking tour, someone recommended this spot for their croissants. After seeing their good Google reviews, we decided to stop by. We arrived closer to the afternoon, around 1 pm, so many items were already sold out, but we were still able to get a plain croissant and a chocolate croissant. Both were fresh and enjoyable, though not quite as crisp as they might be in the morning. The shop doesn't have a clear sign on the top but on the window, so I snapped a picture to help fellow tourists find it. Service was quick, and they do accept credit cards. Overall, a nice stop if you're in the area.

This, pizza, and bread loafs were what was left around noon on a Saturday.

Me and a friend came here on Saturday around noon. This places smells incredible when you walk in and you can tell all the locals were coming in for bread or pastries to take home. Because it was later in the day the quiche was gone so we got chocolate croissants and teas. The croissants were amazing. The only downside is it was pretty cold and there was no indoor seating so be prepared to sit outside or need to leave. The indoor area is just one huge line which is nice because it makes the service very quick and comfortable.

2.5 stars As excited as we were to try this reputable bakery, we were left disappointed by the lack of freshness in everything we tasted: Lemon danish, ginger cookie, chocolate cookie and peanut butter chocolate croissant. As for the bread, if you wear dentures or want to break a tooth, eat it as is. I never had such a hard bread in my life. In all honesty, there itoo much hype for such a hard bite. Maybe this is the best bakery in the area but definitely not the best in my books. Service is mediocre and staff shouldn't mix everything in the same bag. Staff reacted surprised when we asked to do so. Save your money and go elsewhere ;-)

This was my favorite place in Montreal! One of my biggest regret was not stopping by here again before we left to get more goodness! We came here and got a few regular croissants and one with ham and cheese. Omg! It was sooo good! So flaky and crispy on the outside yet the inside was chewy with a nice texture. The one with the ham and cheese was incredibly delicious! I cannot find anything to complaint about! We also got a loft of bread with the walnuts inside and that was sooo yummy as well. Good just by itself without anything. Imagine it toasted with butter!!! We were staying at an Airbnb and unfortunately didn't not get a chance to toast it but it was delicious and so chewy on its own. Got a bag of the palmiers and it was a hit! Everyone loved them. The decor was cute and cozy! Oh and the coffee was really good too!!! Service was fast and friendly. I was worried about not speaking French and the staff treating me funny but that was NOT the case! Staff was so friendly. I would come back to Montreal just to get some pastries and bread again!

This place has just gotten better and better and I love it. The weekday lunch deal is super generous with a huge fresh sandwich, a salad or soup, and a coffee or cold drink for 12$. The bread is outstanding, I love the nut bread it's so crispy and light and amazing. The spicy chocolate danish is one of my favourite things to put in my face. Everything I eat here makes me excited to come back and try something else. The vibe here, though often very busy, manages to remain calm and relaxing and inviting. I love the friendly quick service and love working at the counter by the huge windows. Such a wonderful addition to this neighbourhood.

Crispy and light crust, slightly tart and perfectly chewy/fluffy crumb. I fell in love with their classic country loaf. Can't wait to try the other ones, but so far it's the best bread I've had in a Montréal bakery. Update. Went back on a Monday morning. They left me waiting and asking four times for the same coffee I ordered 20 minutes prior. No acknowledgement from anyone on the staff, no apologies. Manager should reconsider before letting employee have their first ever shift on a labour day Monday.

How could anyone not love a good bakery? When I started hearing so many good things about Automne Boulangerie on Beaubien I knew I needed to make the trip to check it out. The space is pretty big and you can easily see the massive kitchen in the back where they are baking up delicious breads and viennoiseries. On this particular visit I picked up a loaf of standard toast bread and a chocolatine to eat there. The chocolatine was flaky and oozing with melted chocolate and had my better judgement not won out I could have easily eaten a second one right then and there. The bread was very fresh and made for excellent sandwiches when I got it home. The prices were maybe a bit more expensive than what I am used to but the quality of the products is high. Automne is an excellent addition to Montreal's bakery scene and there will definitely be more visits here in the future.

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

The reviews looked great, so we made our way over for some bakes. I assume La Cave gets its name from the fact that you are kinda entering a cave. The bakery is located in a basement surrounded in stone both on the exterior and interior. The bakery isn't large, but it's arranged in a way that foot traffic flows well. They have a good variety of bakes, though we were there relatively late in the day so some had already run out. Despite that, we had several to choose from. We decided to go with the ham and cheese croissant and one of their stuffed croissants. The former was pretty standard - there's wasn't a lot of ham but the flavor was there. The latter was one of those viral circular croissants that have been popular on social media; they had three flavors and I went with the lemon meringue. It was pretty good - it had a good ratio of stuffing to pastry and the lemon curd had a bright flavor. Service as good, the team was eager to help and super efficient. Overall, I had a good experience at La Cave a Manger - there are definitely some good bakes here and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try more of their menu.

The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

While in Miami last year, my husband, mother-in-law and I became big fans of the Rosetta on lower Collins Ave and then once they opened the one by Lincoln Center in NYC, we began to visit that one often since it's walking distance. After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
