The project cost $15,000. The fence runs around our 3/4 acre, encompassing much of the property. PLAN Maria created a beautiful plan based on information provided online for our property (as well as on her private portal). This enabled us to get the project off the ground before I even purchased the house. We scheduled the first install date one day after my house closing. THE INSTALL The installation is done in three stages. I hired a surveyor to mark the property lines. Northland fence ordered the public utilities to be marked out, and I chose to hire Zone One to mark my irrigation and septic (which turned out to be very useful). Next, a full day was spent installing the posts (the day after I purchased the house). Aaron was the leader of a crew of two, and he and I reviewed the placement of the posts in relation to the original plan. We tweaked the plan, and Aaron was helpful, respectful and very patient as I revised things on the ground during the day. Thank you for that! We were able to respect our neighbor's privacy and increase the gate size to accommodate my UTV for snow-ploughing in winter. FINAL INSTALL The final installation was scheduled for 30 days after the post install, but Northland Fence were able to accommodate us early and install a week after. That was an incredible surprise, and our dogs were delighted! A crew of three arrived: Jesse, Chuck and Bobby, and the guys worked from around 9:00am to 5:00pm to install our huge fence. They began without disturbing me, as I was working. When I came out, they updated me that the fence will be completed in a day. They were quiet and respectful of the neighbors, parking on the side of the property. They did a walk around the fence several times during install to ensure that everything was done right, with a final walk-through the next morning when they came to finish off one small part. This gave me time to do a walk-through also. I didn't find anything wrong. The fence was perfect. DESIGN I'll add that I chose a two tone design, at no extra cost. It turned out gorgeous! WARRANTY 10 year warranty from Northland Fence, and they recommend that we contact them with any questions or problems before we check with our home owner's insurance, should any problem arise. RECOMMENDED.

Just be sure to read and understand the contract before signing. We didn't, and that's on us. The contract stated 2 to 4 week completion for our fence. In our case, Northland came out on Dec 10th and removed our old fencing, set some of the new posts, then left by noon. They returned on Dec 26th to finish the remaining posts. They returned on Jan 6th and installed the fence. All of the crews were polite and respectful. Our project was completed 3 weeks and 6 days after they began. Our problem was that our dog couldn't use the yard and the deer - the reason that we needed the fence - invaded and ate our new $$$ landscaping. There's a reason that a competitor advertises that they use the same crew for the entire process, and get it done in a day or two. If we could go back, we'd have made a different choice.

Needless to say, the end result was an impeccibly designed (and fully up to code) beautiful deck we'll be using for years. Josh and his team were also very respectful of our home, always cleaned up, and went above and beyond by taking care of debris outside of the project. Josh was also an effectively communicator about plans, next steps and would bring us in during all decision points. Where do I even start on the house from hell we had built by Mark Erickson of Landsted, Hudson, WI…read more  First the house was started in March of 2017 and was suppose to be finished by October 3, 2017.  It took until the day before Christmas for us to move in.  The reason was because the utilities were not brought into this new neighborhood as the excavating contractor was not paid.  So our house sat with no ac and no heat from March thru December.  Two and a half months after we moved in, all of the woodwork and cabinet doors started cracking.  Over 200 cracks...yes over 200.  I have pictures of every crack!  There were many other problems... the garage floor was flaking, the fireplace surround wasn't finished, the floor warps, one pocked door doesn't open and the other one won't stay closed.  NONE of these problems were fixed by Mark Erickson and he took responsibility for none of the problems.  We finally paid to have the problems fixed ourselves.  After putting a sign up on our lawn telling people to stop by, Mark finally paid us for a few items we had fixed ourselves. He didn't like our sign!!!   He paid us about $1,600 which he had to make in two payments because he didn't have enough money to pay us.  WE finally had all of the cracks in the house fixed and he said that his guy could have done it for less.  Why didn't he get over and do it then? It has been 2 1/2 years we have been asking Mark to fix the problems.  Then he had the guts to say that we were past our warranty.  Even though we have been asking him to fix them since 3 months after we moved in.    There have been 6 'project managers' within the past two years.  Brian, Dan, Chris, Steve (who was really his architect), Joe and Andre'.  No one knew what was going on from one day to the next because he changed project managers so often.  And Mark had no clue on any of it.  He even said that 'his guy' could fix the cupboard door cracks by adding grout. GROUT...are you kidding me!!!  Beware people!!! Also we were suppose to get matching mailboxes...Didn't happen There was suppose to be a center garden w/ trees in the middle of our cul-de-sac...Didn't happen Each yard was suppose to get some trees...Didn't happen We were suppose to have a path down to the lake and have a dock area...Didn't happen This man/company has been unethical, dishonest, deceiving, and unorganized while working with us.
