This shop does great work. I have been taking my cars there for the past 20+ years and I have never had a problem. They are honest and forthright and aren't going to scam you. I have no idea if this place is good or not, they won't even pick up the phone. Would love to give them my business but they won't answer. I've tried once an hour every hour since 10am today. The serpentine belt on my van derailed while on a trip to Rainier last Monday. After installing a new belt in Packwood I nursed the van back to Richland. Tuesday morning I called a few shops in Richland to get an estimate on a tensioner arm and Bob at Cronk gave me a reasonable quote and was able to schedule me in that afternoon. So I left my van in the capable hands of Shae who said the van would be done in a few hours. Before leaving I noticed the tires on my bicycle were low and Shae was more that helpful in setting me up with some air. Having car problems while on a roadtrip is stressful to say the least. It seems difficult to trust mechanics, and the ones you do find, are they really that great? I have to say, I tell my friends and neighbors that Cronk's is the place to take their automobile. I have taken both of our vehicles to Cronk's for repair, and both times it was quick and reliable service. Our first time with Cronk's, my truck had a leaking exhaust manifold on one side. I called around town and was given a wide variety of estimates. At Cronk's, they gave me an over the phone explanation of what the worst and best case scenarios may be for replacement. After the explanation, which from previous experience I knew they were not lying to me, they offered a low and high bid. I took my truck to them, and within a few hours my phone rang saying they were done. UNDER the LOW estimate! How rare is that these days? Just recently we took our other vehicle to them for routine maintenance, knowing it would be pricey, but sometimes it really is needed and worth it. I trust their work, and know that they're not looking to lighten my wallet more than what is really needed. Thank you Cronk's for restoring my faith in how an auto shop should be. read more

excellent service at Cronk!! first time taking vehicle there, I sought them out based on so many positive reviews in Yelp and Google. Having had my 93 Blazer serviced there, I am compelled to share my experience. Cronk was professional, straight-forward, and they did not let me down. They addressed two issues which were neglected, and possibly caused by another prominent auto repair shop (also in Richland, on Lee Blvd). They listened to me describing the issues with the inop fuel guage, squeaking power steering pump, and oil leak, then diagnosed the cause of the issues, gave me prompt and reasonable feedback, and performed requested repairs in a very timely fashion. All problems I had them look at were solved, as requested, and I could hardly be happier. I've never had such a positive auto repair experience as I had at Cronk, and will definitely be returning for future auto repair needs. read more

I had a bearing sieze on one of the pulleys for my serpentine belt during my lunch break at work on Friday. I was looking at losing most of the weekend doing the work myself, but on recommendation from my supervisor I took my car in to Cronk's. Two hours later I drove home in a car that had parts falling out of the engine at lunch. And as far as pricing I don't think I could have done the work myself for much cheaper. Hands down best experience I've had with an automotive repair shop. Being a young female I've been jerked around a lot by crappy mechanics since I got my first car. It's a shop so they might not always answer the phone but it's because they're giving someones vehicle the concentration and full attention we're all seeking out.. but literally not once have I called and they not answer (in reference to that one guys post of them not answering.. also, they're human... we all have bad days. Give an actual review based on more than just one morning trying to get ahold of them.. it's extremely misleading and unfair.). My car broke down after hours and 20 minutes after buying the thing. I had pinkeys tow (also top notch and very fast dispatched) bring the car to the front of their shop. There's lots of room and not directly off the Main Street so I felt safer leaving it. The next day I called and gave them a description of the problem, they told me a day and time they had available and that they would try to get to it sooner since it was sitting out front. Days before my appointment they called with bad news, I needed a new engine and that someone had clearly just been under the car trying to cover up the problems/they knew it needed a new engine. Cronk didn't even want my money for their time and diagnostics! AND they told me it was fine to leave the undriveable car there a few weeks while I figured out what to do with it. Excellent mechanics that my husband and I trust 100%. We've been taking our cars to them since we've been back in the Tri-Cities (9 years now). Our oldest car has 250K miles on it and is still going strong thanks to Cronks! Only request would be that they'd get a phone w/call waiting. My wife's 2000 Ford Taurus's heater just quit putting out heat in early October (2009). There can be a number of reasons for this, and some of the repair options are not cheap. A new heater core change out can be $500 to $700, but they started with simply flushing the heater core and now the heater will drive you out of the car! It works like it should on a very cold day, especially when there is freezing ofg like the Tri Cities gets very often in the winter. They were well below what the local Ford dealer in Pasco wanted for the same task and they completed the work in a timely fashion. They can have all my automotive repair business from now on.
