Beautiful view outside seatings with fire pit, so we sat outside and enjoyed the view and company. I had a beer flight with their popular, tasty, and colorful beers. My favorite was "in the middle of nowhere" (juicy IPA). We ordered burgers and salads. I had pork belly soup and salmon shoulder grilled which were delicious. At first I was a bit hesitant as they have signs that read "order at the bar." That generally means lousy, or no service and still an expectation of a tip. However, there was still service, thankfully. So, you grab a couple menus, go sit down and discuss your options. Once you know what you want, you go back to the bar, order, and they bring it out to your table. So, there *is service. Food was good! I had some fancy strawberry salad, and some homemade pretzels that were awesome! Both my sister and my mother had burgers, and they seemed happy with their choices. My one issue, which is no big deal really, is their up-charge for ordering a kid's burger for someone other than a kid... My mother is 89 years old, she can't put away a large burger, she wants something small. So, if we're pricing the burger based on its size, why does it matter who's eating it? ‍ To charge extra seems dishonest... I even pointed it out to the guy at the bar that it's for my 89-year-old mother, but did he care? Apparently not ‍ Nevertheless, that issue aside, it's a nice place for lunch. HUGE fan of this brewery! So much that I literally bought a hat from here so I could remember it. We were in town for Halloweentown and came in a couple days early so that we could check out the town. This was one of the first places we stopped in and we actually went back several times to the point where the staff knew we were the Vegas people haha. At first we did their beer flights. And we also got the burger and fries, too, to eat. Their food is OUTSTANDING! And their beer is even better!!! I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. And honestly, this beer was incredible. Literally every beer I tried was so good. A few times we came in we sat at the bar and chatted with some of the employees who were soooo nice. They have games, too, so we played some trivia and uno and it was a lot of fun. We seriously had the best time here. The owner even chatted with us a bit and he was so nice, too. One night they even had some guys out front smoking some meats and we struck up a convo with them, too. Honestly, the people in this town are so friendly. Especially the people that work here. They're SO kind. Definitely would frequent this spot if I lived here. But again, we had sooo much fun here and I highly recommend checking out this place. read more

Immediately when me and my family walked in , it felt like we stumbled onto the coolest spots town. The staff greeted us like we were regulars, super chill and ready to make our night. The beer selection is brewtastic and seriously, they've got something for every taste. Plus, you can snag some merch and get competitive at board games while you sip. There's live music too...because why not make it a party? I went for the veggie chicken patty, and it was so good, it might as well have been crowned "Best in Show." The fries? Crispy perfection, they deserve their own award. But here's the real kicker, the damnnn dessert. There was this seasonal treat that combined apple cheesecake and banana pudding. We were recently in town and a family member highly recommended this place to grab food and drinks. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside on the patio. It is dog friendly and there were plenty of well behaved pooches. The service was friendly. You order at the bar and they bring it to you. We stared with the House-made Sourdough Pretzel with three cheese fondue & house-made maple IPA mustard. This was an amazing start. The pretzel had a wonderful texture and it's one of the best that I've had in a long time. The fondue was delicious too! I split a couple of entrees: Chicken & Waffles: spicy Nashville fried chicken breast, white cheddar waffles, real maple syrup, blueberry-pecan salad. And the Blueberry Pecan Chicken Salad with burrata. The waffle was really good and I enjoyed the blueberry pecan salads. The chicken was lightly fried and not too spicy. Both were fantastic and I'd order either again. For dessert we ordered the Peanut Butter Icebox Pie: Almond brownie crust, caramel ganache, peanut butter ice cream and chocolate mousse finished with whipped cream and candy crunch bits. This review is long overdue. While we don't go out very much, we usually try to hit Crooked Creek when we do. Loved their tiny place when they first started, but watching how it's grown and is thriving speaks to the owner's hard work and vision. It's an extremely welcoming place (even for dogs). It feels like a lot of thought and care has been put into blending "small town favorites" with higher end cuisine. We have liked most everything we've had there. Service is wonderful, smiles all around and a genuine care about the customers experience can be felt. We have yet to attend a game night, although definitely looking forward to it. They didn't have food yet as working on getting their kitchen up and going however you can bring in food from nearby places (don't count on this as small area so those may be closed or check/order beforehand). Wow! How about a 6 star option? The beer was perfect- we did the rye IPA, "born in a barn." And it was one of the best IPAs I've had recently- a really nice hop forward taste. We enjoyed the pretzel appetizer- wow! I had the shrimp and grits - exceptionally good if just a bit different than traditional- I really loved it. And my husband enjoyed the mushroom burger. I saw a post on Facebook that said they were having free Bingo on oct 20th while we were down at HalloweenTown. Rain was predicted so we planned to grab a bite and play! I was pleasantly surprised at the food! The burgers, fries & kids chicken were all some of the best I've had in this county! The Bingo was run by a local agency called Life Empowered, and the bingo called & her daughter stole the show. It was a welcome hideout during the rain! read more

This brewery came across as a surprise when I was in St. Helen's because I didn't know about it beforehand. This doesn't happen very often but when it does it's almost always a pleasant surprise. The spot I went to was their pop up location that they had up for the Halloweentown festival in downtown but they have a permanent location elsewhere in St. Helens. The beer I had from Crooked Creek was their Helles Lager. Always a favorite to have on hot days and it was a a hot day on the weekend I went. The beer had the light body and a good breadiness and crispness at the same time and proved to be a great and refreshing beer experience. In fact after visiting a few breweries on my trip down this was easily the best one for good quality beer. Definitely recommend! read more

This brewery is so fun! I ordered the Aprickalyspe. This beer not only has the coolest and most original name for a beer I have seen thus far, but it was very refreshing. This was light and fruity. It was such a pleasure to be able to chill and catch up with friends while enjoying a great brew. I would have had more had we the ability to stay longer. We also enjoyed some food from the local taco truck that was outside, Taco Hery's. We got their chips and guacamole, 4 tacos, Chicken quesadilla and their hot sauces. This is my husband and I's fave place to visit every evening while we visit. Service and staff are awesome. We love the beer and the variety. (I loved the Aprickalypse & the Basaltic) They have a ton of games, card sets, dice, etc., available for guests. We belly up to the bar, play cards and enjoy a beer or 2. We had the most wonderful meal at this lovely brewery near the water in St. Helen's and have the photo to prove it. Of course the Clear Cut pale ale beer and Honeycrisp dry cider were excellent, which we knew because we tasted their beer samples at a recent Portland brewfest this Summer. The food is amazing!!! I ate every speck of the Bacon-Jam Smashburger, with cheddar and garlic aioli ($16), and hubby had a "perfect" NW Salad Niscoise with fresh-caught Coho salmon on a bed of mixed greens, asparagus, potatoes, and more, for only $19. Been awhile since I have done a review, but I tell ya what, I am glad I chose to do this one. Here in St. Helens, I heard of new brewery starting up, but have not had a chance to make it in (canning season) until last Friday. The brewery is called Crooked Creek Brewery, they can be found right across the street from Chase bank in St. Helens, and they are headquartered in Warren. This is a different brewery than what we had and still have here in Columbia County. Yes, they serve their craft beer, yes, they allow minors into the brewery seating area, they also have sidewalk tables (albeit a limited amount, but still), and they are dog friendly. How dog friendly you ask? Your furry friend is allowed into the brewery with you and can sit with you (on the floor I am sure) right at your table. Due to the brewery not serving food (I'll get to that in a moment) they are able to allow this (I asked when I was there as I had my beloved Wee Dog Pip with me) and I asked the server (I didn't catch his name) if dogs were allowed inside, he said yes due to the reason I stated earlier (no food prep on site). Now, let us talk about the food, or lack thereof. This is not a terrible thing (as I am sure your mind went there) because they encourage you to bring your own food, weather it was purchased from a local (or not) place. Some of the places next to the brewery will even bring your food to your table from their restaurant (I have heard but have not tried). Stick with me here. I was sitting there, eating my tacos from Burrito USA, and drinking the flight (several good choices of brews), thinking about how this was a good place to enjoy, then it him me. Potluck. Call up a few of your friends, each of you bring a dish to share, sit around, have a drink (they also have non-alcoholic beverages), converse, give your dog a scratch between the ears, enjoy the moment. That is the unique aspect about this brewery, that to my knowledge is not offered at other places. If you are like me, beer is a part of the meal, and should be enjoyed as such. When I was enjoying the flight, I was pairing the ales to food. Here is the list I produced. Double Hazy IPA, one sip of the mellow IPA and I thought this would be great with a salad, tossed with chopped lemon grass, sliced Almonds, grilled chicken, diced apple, chives, and drizzled with a Strawberry Vinaigrette. Burn Pile (Blonde Ale)- this would pair excellent with grilled pork (chops, loin), Roasted Chicken, pair those dished with mashed taters and gravy, or roasted veggies with parmesan cheese. Rusty Bucket- Fish and Chips, no need to elaborate. Two Rights One Left- this is such a simple ale (which is nothing wrong with that), but you pair that ale with a warm salted pretzel and cheese sauce. You will be happy. La Petit- A Rueben (on Rye) will hold the complexity of the ale and be quite enjoyable. Sawmill Stout (my favorite)- Red Meat (beef, Elk, Bison, Venison) Stew is where you are going to be when fall hits, which is quickly coming! Glad I was able to find some time to visit this place. I am even more excited about future potlucks with friends, Wee Dog Pip, and a cribbage board. I figured I would bring an empty growler to take home some ale, but to my surprise, they do not fill growlers. Instead, they sell Crowlers (19oz) cans in a four pack.
