Excellent brisket! This mom and pop shop is endearingly run by a couple celebrating 33 years of marriage as of this post, a next phase of life business endeavor. We thought the food delicious, the beer and wine solid and the proprietorship endearing. We specified we were in a schedule and they were accommodating. A great place to check out in Banks.

Delicious pastrami and Caesar salad with amazing home-made bread, but the star here is the fabulous beer!

Pit stop in Banks!

Tri-tip steak perfect with Caesar's salad. The owner knows his BBQ ( no sauce!!!)... as every BBQ should be! Easy going service!! Perfect pit stop before heading into Portland after a weekend camping! Good (small) selection of beer until the owner is back producing his beer!

Best Caesar salad in the area? Quite possibly! The chilli is very good too. And Breakside brewery Wonderlust IPA is great too.

Not only do these guys have amazing beer but they ARE soooo Portland! Seriously, get out of your box and visit this place! You'll have a blast!

*Closed business notice* Yeeeeah... BDSM is abbreviated…read morelike that on purpose and isn't accidental or coincidental at all. To be honest I tried two attempts here to get their beer and both times were fails. The address associated with their Yelp entry here seems to be at the owner's house. And they indeed did have a small taproom here going off of the Yelp pictures. People really liked the beers from the other reviews and the concept definitely caught our attention (ahem) but when we got there and within operating hours of the taproom everything was closed up tighter than a drum. We wanted to make another attempt to try their beer at a later time and when we did it looked like they moved to downtown Hillsboro. We'll we made it there, Steve and I and went in the door only to be told they were closed BUT the owner didn't turn us away and so we had a can of cider. They were doing a remodel and we figured we would make yet another attempt in a few months to try their beer since none was available during the particular time the remodel was taking place and when we arrived. I made a third attempt only to find out the old BDSM sign was taken down and smoked meats and cold beer were sold at the location we were at months before. All of these changes must have been recent and swift because the third attempt was a week ago and Google had the business in the search as still being open and they had an active Facebook page. The Facebook page and has since vanished in a week's time and the Google result says they are permanently closed. They still have their own website up but I wouldn't imagine that is very useful at this point and time. Too bad. A few missed opportunities here without a full on beer experience with what they brewed.

We were hopeful going in, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our server, Brenton, was one of the rudest employees we've encountered not just at Pelican Brewing Company, but anywhere along the Oregon coast. He came across as though he genuinely disliked his job, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Because of this, my husband and I decided not to order anything and chose to leave instead. The overall vibe made it difficult to enjoy our visit. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location. In the future, we would much rather drive the extra 45 minutes to the Pelican Brewing Company Cannon Beach location, which has always offered a much more welcoming environment and friendly service.

He explained the IPA's for my wife and I was convinced that I would also enjoy the Italian Pilsner by his recommendation that was on tap. They were perfect. The music was also an excellent match for great food and service. The food was also excellent. As Trent told us, "people may like the beer, but it is the food that they will come back for" So true. We started with the Southern Fried Pickles...oh my...so good. And the accompanying sauces of BBQ and Ranch had flavor and were perfect for dipping. My wife had a cup of Beer Cheese Soup and a House Salad. The soup was great, but still not as good as Stanford's served in the day. The accompanying Pretzel Roll was so good. She was also enamored with the dressing for the salad. The Chef even came out to explain the ingredients to her. I had the Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries. This was a sandwich I would not normally order, but the 3 cheeses, bacon and tomato made it so tasty. We will definitely be back as I have already told a few friends how good ABV is.

As a self proclaimed clam chowder connoisseur I take the hunt for delicious clam chowder throughout…read morethe PNW coastal area very seriously. Each beach town my husband I travel to, I spend far too much time reading reviews about clam chowder. If only I spent as much energy in other areas of my life as I do "internet-researching" clam chowder, who knows what I could accomplish. I must say that the clam chowder at Werner Beef & Brew is exactly what I have been hunting for. It is the perfect texture and consistency. It has a spectacular balance of clam to potato ratio, and the potatoes are cooked to perfection. They don't have too much bite, nor do they disintegrate into mush the moment they enter your mouth. The chowder itself was worth traveling from Rockaway to Tillamook for. It was even worth a more industrial view vs. an establishment with a more coastal and picturesque backdrop. The salad bar was on point. The variety of salad add-ins, dressings, and topping crunchy-bits were epic. It was a nice balance to the very rich perfect chowder I am already missing. I miss it. I miss the chowder. My husband also got the fish tacos, based on others' reviews and enjoyed every bite. I enjoyed their Dragon Fruit Cider, and he ordered one of their Meaty Bloody Mary's. If you are on the fence if you should order one, you should. You should get that bloody mary. The bloody mary then led us to purchase some of their salami and bologna. It was an elevated version of the sandwich meat my grandpa used with white bread, yellow mustard (off-brand), ice burg lettuce, and a slice of cheddar cheese. Mid-life has me craving nostalgia. I have gotten the breakfast burrito when having breakfast and would characterize it as large, yet underwhelming in taste. None of the beers that i have tried are particularly memorable, but they are very drinkable. The service is courteous and they strive to keep the tables clean. The ordering here is done at the counter and I have found this to be a great way of taking orders in a casual establishment. This allows one to peruse the menu at a table at one's own speed, then walk up to the counter to ask any questions about the menu and then place the order. My experiences have been that the employee at the register has always been patient, informative and respectful. They bring your order to your table when it is ready. My experience is that they give you a conservative estimate of the time for preparing and the real time has been shorter. Note that I think they do a good job with turnaround times given how many customers are in the restaurant combined with their apparent significant take-out business. My dinner experiences have been very satisfying and that is what one would expect from a meat purveyor. However, they do not fumble the ball on the execution. Casual food, but tasty. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating: plenty of both. Part of the outside seating is heated and covered during much of the year. I have never been there when you could not choose a table. I think a great casual stop, and a unique one, when visiting the Tillamook area.
