We have been wanting to try Crooked Pint for a very long time! Crooked Pint opened when Ground Round closed its doors. I was excited to learn that a brand new restaurant was going to open and one that I never heard before. I always love trying new places!!! Of course, I wasn't lucky enough to be the first reviewer .... Anyways, the atmosphere was like 3 places in one. You had the casual side, in the middle was a bar, and on the other side was a wall separating itself from everything else, and there was a pretty decent sized Arcade/game room. There was air hockey "I think"...A Halo Arena, and numerous cycle and car racing arcade games, as well as a couple of classic games. This will be like 2 reviews in one because we went there twice in one week. The first time we went, I had their Sloppy Joe Sandwich. It was different than any other Sloppy Joe sandwich. There was I believe Monterey Jack Cheese on it, and cheddar cheese?...don't quote me on the cheddar part....their fries were pretty good. My partner had an Open-Faced Turkey sandwich, which he loved, and I thought was pretty good too since I got a taste of his lol... The Sloppy Joe sandwich was decent, but nothing I'd order again. We did manage to get an appetizer, which was their fried pickle spears. These were amazing!!!!! Never had fried pickles in my life, and these were SO good! It was served with some sort of Jalapeno Ranch sauce...also good, but of course, spicy. The second visit, which was yesterday 10-27-19...We sat on the other side of the game room. It took FOREVER for someone to finally come over and get our drink and appetizer order!! We were not happy about that, considering that there were about 3-4 waiters and waitresses just standing around talking. Not a good look Crooked Pint, and where are the managers keeping them busy and attending to their guests. If it is one thing besides bad food that I can't stand, it is slow service ESPECIALLY for no reason! We ordered the Fried Pickles again because they were so good! My partner got the same Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich again and I tried their Macaroni and Cheese Skillet. I have to say, I was NOT impressed! The food was tasteless. The cheese sauce tasted like watered down Kraft cheese sauce you get in a box. Did not taste like Beer Cheese AT ALL! Not to mention, they served it in a cast iron skillet, with a hot precaution mit on the handle, and I'm thinking to myself, why? My food was on the verge of being cold. My partner's dish wasn't that hot either. The place wasn't swarming with people, so why is our food not hot? I already knew why the service was slow. The best part were the Pickle Spears, which came out piping hot. Our main dish I would have expected to be the same. If we go back, it might be awhile. This certainly did not impress us. Food was good - Lucy burger was a nice change of pace from the norm as were the giant stuffed tater tots. Awesome little game room section to keep the kids busy. One issue that was disappointing...they had Weiss beer on tap apparently where a hazy IPA was supposed to be. I can't stand Weiss beer, ordered the Hazy and was served a very light colored, slightly cloudy beer. Kabryn shrugged it of when I asked if she was sure it was the Hazy and then was gone by the time I tried it. Tasted like a weiss as expected but tried to drink it and couldn't make it past halfway. Got the check and it listed it as a weiss beer. Pointed this out to kabryn and she said she'd double check. Returned and doubled down that even though the check listed it as a Weiss, it looked like a Weiss and tasted like a weiss, it was definitely a hazy IPA. This is my first time dining in this establishment for my military leadership course class dinner this past Wednesday night. Also we celebrated one of our classmates' birthday as well. I love the menu items and I ordered the Reuben sandwich. It was delicious and I would recommend this place to dine out. When I come back to Fort McCoy, I'll definitely dine here again. Our experience was pretty mediocre, unfortunately. The sandwiches are overpriced, and on top of that I paid $3 extra for a *very* small cup of soup (and forfeited fries for the privilege). My wife's juicy Lucy bun was burned, and we were surprised that it didn't come with any veggies or anything on it (which could be our fault for not looking at the menu closely enough). If you're going to spend nearly $20 on a meal, you can easily do better. read more

Really liked this restaurant. Clean lively bar atmosphere, huge televisions and an epic looking game room. I ordered the rib eye sandwich. Wow is this good. Perfectly sliced full flavored steak with au jus. I added horseradish sauce and it complimented my taste buds tremendously. Only thing I would have liked changed would have been more fries. I kinda got the shaft on the quantity. At 14$ for the sandwich they should have supplied more. Over all the drinks were poured right and well. I had a Lucy burger which was very good but I felt the meal itself was overpriced. $13 for a burger and fries. The burger was normal size and the fries were nothing special. Some people prefer soggy homemade style fried but I'd rather have crispy fries. I sat at the bar to eat and the young woman bartending spent almost 20 minutes straight talking with two customers I assume were her friends. She must have said the F word twenty times. I'm not a prude but not really what I want to listen to while eating dinner. I wouldn't even notice at a dive bar but this is more of restaurant, it was 7pm, and there were kids all over the place. read more

This is my third try here, every time I've left unsatisfied, but this last time was awful. Paid $20 for a walleye sandwich, which wasn't even eatable. The fries along with it, were soggy and tasted as if they'd been stale, sitting out for an hour or so. The only redeeming part was the service, even my mojito was over flavored and barely tasted like mojito. Hope this place does better. read more

Amazing service; we had a great experience with Rebecca- although some parts of the establishment can be a little loud. (Avoid the game room if you want to have a conversation). Allergy friendly, our server was very attentive and made special accommodations for allergies and dietary needs. Do not order food online! I ordered a burger and fries for pickup and then waited over an hour and half for them to say they completed my order when I never picked up anything. I can't speak on the in person environment but I imagine if they need to scam people out of 14$ it can't be too pretty in there. Now it's too late at night to order food elsewhere and I'm limited to fast food or a trip to the grocery store in order to cook or do dishes until 11:00 pm. read more

"lucy burger" had a lot to be desired. The burger was dry, bun dry, and even the pickle looked dry, like it sat under a heat lamp to long. Fries where not seasoned, and came with a side a ketchup that had dripped on fries, unfortunately I hate ketchup, server acted like it was a joke. Tea was cloudy and no sweetener was offered. Server more interested in a group of women. There were so many servers standing around it actually makes the restaurant look like it was not busy. Went on a college football Saturday early evening. All the good games were on and that is a good thing . Beer was cold and a great selection. Here is the part nobody figured out. At least 10 groups on the wait list with no less than 8 tables open. We counted. Problem is once we got seated after 45 minutes there was still 8 tables open. Very disappointing. Burger was tiny. Grey. Very little flavor. Chicken wings were very chewy, rubbery. Dry rub on it did taste good. Mac and cheese had a half lb of bread crumbs on the top. My family of 6 just had lunch at this place. 4 of 6 meals were edible and passable. I ordered the beer cheese Lucy without a bun. It was served with coagulated cheese stuck on the sides and top. I'm assuming the "chef" is blind because there is no way that should have been sent out. The first bite was enough for me. Actually the first look was enough but I had to try it. Another family member ordered the breakfast skillet with scrambled eggs. The eggs didn't look scrambled, they looked to be cut up, old hard boiled eggs that were chopped up and served cold. The other 4 meals and drinks were good. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. My meal was comped and the other meal was partially comped. Great environment at crooked pint on a packed playoff baseball night! Awesome food too, I asked for chicken on the veggie wrap and it came out as a veggie wrap. They took care of it immediately and were very polite with it! The Manager took it off my bill which was far above and beyond! I've been here other times and have always had great burgers!
