BBQ'd Baby back Ribs
Nicki C.

Popped in on a Saturday for an early dinner, sat at the bar. Drinks were good, we ordered a dirty martini and an old fashion. Food, I ordered the rotisserie chicken, good as always and my bf ordered the half slab of bbq'd baby back ribs. Issue with the ribs considering they're labeled as "the best in town". The half slab is priced at $19 or full slab $34. The sauce is not made in house, it is smoke daddy bbq sauce. For $19 I would expect a little more meat on the ribs and less fries and coleslaw. Charging $19 for a plate FULL OF SIDES is absurd and insulting to the customer. We could have went down the street to chilis for the same price and more rib meat than was what plated at Crosby. The half slab is no bigger than a McRib. Most of that slab was all BONE. The manager was kind enough to replace the ribs for another rotisserie chicken and complimentary second round of drinks. They stated they'd take the complaint to corporate. Not sure who is in charge of purchasing meats but cmon, the meat to side ratio is completely off with this dish, along with the pricing. There is no way potatoes and cabbage take up half the cost of $19. Either change butchers/meat vendors or rename this plate to fries and coleslaw with a side of SOME ribs.

What a great place for a family friendly lunch out! Went for Valentine's Day with our infant and they were able to accommodate a space for our stroller at the table. I love their skillet cornbread and really enjoyed their brunch. Twist with a blueberry skillet cornbread and maple butter. You can get their bloody Mary virgin. Their arugula Brussels salad was a nice compliment and a nicely cooked piece of salmon on the side. Service was super attentive and accommodating. Would definitely come back!

Artichoke dip was very good and huge portion! Martini tower was meh- Rotisserie chicken was nothing special. Service was interesting but definitely can improve.

Crosby's kitchen has a couple locations in Chicago area, including one in the suburb of Niles. They are an American cuisine restaurant that has a lot of good standard dishes . We went during brunch /lunch and one of their most popular items is their cornbread in a pan which can be eaten directly out of the pan and very good! I got the chorizo tostadas for breakfast which I thought was decently hefty but maybe not as flavorful as I was hoping. The chili lime melon was a nice complement . Great for groups, families, couples . Great service. We went with our little one so appreciated that they gave us seating that was very suitable and we never felt rushed . #suburb #Chicago

Came here for a family member's baby shower and we all raved about the food! Definitely come here for brunch. The prices are typical of a brunch place and it was definitely bustling on a Sunday around lunch time. Service was friendly and prompt and the waiters checked up on us pretty frequently. Standouts to me were the monkey bread, the spinach dip and the eggs Benedict. The room where they held the event sat about 40 comfortably and you could definitely have more people as well. The booths throughout the restaurant would be perfect for hosting a small get together or girls brunch. Lots of parking around the restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean.

We shared the blueberry cornbread that came in a skillet. It was sweet and savory a weird combo for me. I would prefer the regular cornbread. I got the Brussel sprout salad. It was good but only had bacon bits for protein so it was pricey for $16. They are kid friendly and had a lemonade and candy station. They also have a kid crafty item with paper to draw on There's plenty of parking. There's additional parking next door at the eye center

If you haven't made it to The Niles location yet, now's the perfect time. I'm not exaggerating when I say we had one of the most tender, juicy, smoky filets we've ever tasted--cooked to absolute perfection. Whether you stop in for the sliders, filet, or the bang bang steak salad, you're in for a treat. We ordered the mahi-mahi sandwich, steak filet, and the bang bang steak filet salad. For dessert: a rich, moist carrot cake and a zesty Key lime pie that hit just right. And the drinks? You must try the Veronica Green--not too sweet, just the right kick of spice, and seriously delicious. Service was top-notch--warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. The manager even came by to say hello. What really stood out? Despite the bustling crowd, he rolled up his sleeves and jumped in to help his team. Total class act. The ambiance is equally impressive. There's a lovely outdoor patio, plenty of cozy indoor seating, and a stylish bar area perfect for unwinding during happy hour (Monday through Friday, 4-6 PM). The decor is adorable--elegant yet inviting, with that just-right balance of charm and comfort. We'll absolutely be back on our next visit to Niles. Can't recommend this place enough. .

I hosted a bridal shower for my future DIL on Saturday at Crosby's Kitchen in Niles. It was wonderful! We had the Library (room), everyone commented on the lovely decor. We were a small group of only 20 people, the room was perfect- cozy but not crowded although we could have comfortably accommodated ~10 more people. It was completely private with no noise from the busy restaurant. We were able to connect our own playlist to the sound system which made it even more personal. We chose to do brunch. The food was amazing! I'm still dreaming about the lemon blueberry pancakes and the unbelievable potato casserole. We also had eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. For appetizer we had the deviled eggs with hot honey. I'm not usually a deviled egg person but they were delicious. We brought in our own donuts as well because we needed GF options. The service was fantastic, always there when we needed something but never hovering. Thank you Carlos and Gabby (servers) and Katie from catering. I book a lot of events for work and I will definitely keep Crosby's Kitchen in mind. As the mother-in-law to-be it could have been stressful but I was able to enjoy the shower just like all the other guests. It was flawless and made me look great!

Had dinner here during restaurant week. Out of the 4 choices on the menu mine started with filet mignon sliders which were very tender, main dish were the ribs that were unbelievable the sauce had a little kick to it and finished it off with key lime pie. Great service.

Late post We celebrated our aunt's 88th birthday yesterday and had a private room reserved. The space is clean, and the ambiance and decor are modern. Parking is ample. The staff is warm and welcoming. Although I cannot remember the names of our servers for the evening, they were pleasant and very accommodating. From time to time, other staff came in to assist. We had a prefixed menu served family style. For appetizers, we had their mini filet sliders and Wrightwood salad. Our two entrees were rotisserie chicken and salmon. The sides were mashed potatoes and charred broccolini. For dessert, we had their skillet cookie. Cocktails were separate, and hubby and I ordered our usual amaretto stone sour. Everything was tasty, but there was nothing of a wow factor. It is a great neighborhood establishment, and by the time we left, around dinner time, it was getting crowded. They have a Lincoln Park location, too, and when we are back in the city, we wouldn't mind visiting them to try their brunch menu.

Potato bacon croquette

I had food from here many times delivered or pick up. It was our first visit dining in. The server Lily was nice, interior is pleasant, facility was clean and nice to be in with family or friends. Food was nice too. Some items are pricey for its taste, like the prime rib quality, the potato bacon croquette, or filet sliders, and I had extra salad dressing that tiny portion of extra dressing was 5$, but my kid really likes their mahimahi sandwich. We will still order some items to go from time to time especially during Lent. My kids love their mahimahi sandwiches.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally got to with a good friend! We decided to go for Brunch, which is only on weekends until 2pm. They are located right on the corner but have a parking lot. The restaurant wasn't too crowded but we were still seated right in between 2 other tables. I would have preferred to have moved and should have asked. It was hard to talk and we were smashed at a small table where it lacked a ton of privacy. Our server was very friendly and helpful with questions - explaining the restaurant and popular items. We decided to start with the Monkey Bread with cream cheese frosting! It was really good - like a pull apart cinnamon roll. We also got a Traditional Breakfast, Wrightwood Salad, and a side of fries with ranch. Everything was pretty good! The hashbrowns with the breakfast were really good almost like a creamy casserole. The fries were crispy and seasoned- however the smoky dipping sauce wasn't my favorite. The salad dressing had a great flavor but I wish there were more toppings in the salad. The salad was still enjoyable. We would go back back- overall experience 4/5.

Zi has a wealth of personal wine recommendations, while Tina and Ryan are orchestrating the food delivery based on my preferred timing. Attention to detail is evident with flatware being replaced and water being refilled without asking. The food offerings are elevated in quality and presentation which is reflected in the price point. In the rare event of a kitchen misstep, the dish is refired quickly and is usually delivered by a manager with a sincere apology. Polished service and astute management were not always the norm throughout the years, but it seems like the restaurant is firing on all cylinders currently. For a solid dining experience in a warm, welcoming setting with attentive service, Cooper's Hawk Morton Grove is an excellent choice.

It's very peaceful, romantic and a calm atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The plating is so attractive! The dishes have great flavor but are healthier options. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. He said to give him a call and he'll try to accommodate whenever possible to make his customers happy. What an amazing restaurant. We cannot wait to come back and see what's new. I hope they add to it or do seasonal offerings because the selection is not too large and we pretty much maxed out what we'd be interested in trying in one visit. But they did it well and we enjoyed the Valentine's Day touched around the restaurant!

We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.

There was definitely a STRONG vinegar taste but for me, that was great. I also ordered a pasta dish, orecchiette and sausage with peas and a sweet, creamy sauce. Orecchiette and sausage are such a classic combo and I hadn't had this sauce before; it was a pleasant dish and was perfectly al dente. Service was good for the bar area. Maybe their menu rotates though and I'll get lucky with a few sweet wines sometime. The place is really nice, very clean and most importantly, comfy. There's a bar area for folks to hang out as well as several high-tops, and my favorite spot was a cozy little nook with some nice armchairs that were perfect for me to finish a bit of reading. They have a free little library here and also a game shelf to get the conversation going. They have a wine membership--I'm not sure exactly what it's called or what it entails, but I do know that there's a discount on wine purchased here if you're a member. Also important to know is that, if I understood correctly, there's a $10 corkage fee if you purchase a bottle and open it on site. That seemed steep but I wasn't planning to buy a bottle anyway. The food is actually quite good. I think everyone was pretty pleased with the small bites we ordered; I got the meatballs and Caitlin's spicy sausage dip. I'm never sure if I'll actually like meatballs so I wasn't sure what to expect but these were excellent. And the spicy sausage dip was amazing. I haven't ever had something like it and now I'm going to have to find a recipe in case I have some reason to bring something a little atypical to a party. My friend mentioned that they had some sort of dip contest a while back, and after checking out their instagram it looks like this may have been one of the winners. Well deserved! The food was wonderful, and these days where you often get ripped off for really mediocre food, I was pleasantly surprised. Each dish was prepared with a lot of love and care, well seasoned, NOT overusing oil, butter or salt, and also beautifully presented. The herbal seasonings were unusual to me, but delicious. They have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options, which is really cool because I expected a menu with cuisine from this part of the world to be very heavy on meat and starches (I'm half-Polish, have been to Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and have tried other Eastern European and Central Asian cuisines). The service was surprisingly reasonable despite the amount of patrons inside, friendly and the waitress stopped by periodically to check on us. Menu is not as adventurous as I've seen at some French restaurants, a bit different from still mostly familiar -- which can be good to appeal to a wider set of diners. I tried several different items including the Touche Toast, Cinnamon Apple Pancakes, and Gaufres Au Poulet Frite. I found in each of these, the textures were alright and the flavors were not too different from what I would expect from other brunch restaurants. Portion sizes were alright, as the meal wasn't overly expensive. If I had ordered items with more French influence, this may have been a better gauge of the food here. With that said, the uniqueness of the offerings here make me interested in a return visit. Overall, neat spot if you're looking for French style cuisine at reasonable prices.

The manager, you kindly refunded the $6.50 for the kids meal. However, now we had a toddler who was ready for bed, but did not have any food in her stomach. All in all, it is not the same Cappy's girl that it used to be. It was very disappointing and even though it used to be a go to for me in the past, it will not happen again.
