The facility is easy to find in the first floor and located about the middle of the building. There is parking on the street in front of the building. There are several tables and booths as well as a full bar. Staff was super friendly. Although, we only had one set of silverware with napkin. My son ordered the chicken and pretzel sandwich with the onion strings and bacon on the side and fries. He did not recieve the onion rings at all. His review is that the chicken had no flavor but with the cheese sauce that was on the side. Not sure if the sauce usually comes on the side or if the request for the onion strings was misunderstood for the cheese on the side but it sounds as though it certainly should be on the sandwich. I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich with fries. Kind of taken aback by the red sauce on the bun at first as I'd not seen this before, but the sandwich was delicious. I noticed the chicken wasn't very flavorful either, but the other ingredients made up for it. I love pesto! Not used to the fresh mozzarella being cooked either, it was a nice twist. This morning we celebrated my daughter's Baby Sprinkle. It was a coffee themed brunch at Harp and Fiddle. The event manager Monika was incredible from the start to the end. She was detailed in helping me plan a perfect brunch. Her communication was always kind and helpful. The other amazing staff: Benito and Anya helped make it perfect. The food was out of this world. Spied this place as we drove by on our way to another yelp event and made a mental note to return, so glad we did. We walked in prime time Saturday night around 630 or 7pm, the place was packed, there was a 40 minute wait for a table, but we were able to find two seats at the bar with no trouble, winning! Even better, sat in front of the taps, so full view of the beer situation. An impressive array of taps to choose from, so enjoy! The cocktail menu is no slouch either. Watched one of the bar tenders make a house barrel smoked old fashioned, wasn't quick enough on the camera to film but it was neat to see. After seeing it served to one of our bar neighbors, we shared the 16oz double bone in bershire pork chop special, it was delicious. As we were getting ready to depart, we learned that a group of friends happened to be en route at the same time, so I asked for a table of seven to be put together and just like that, it was ready. Can't really ask for more than that, the service here was great. Live music was taking place, as well as, a fund raising event towards the rear and spilling over into the private event space. This did make navigating to the bathrooms, which were in the rear, a little challenging, it was like running a gauntlet. We were quickly seated and service was excellent the whole time. However, besides the service, everything else about our experience was a major flop. The food and drinks were not good. The seasonal cocktail I ordered had no flavor and didn't taste anything like the description. This restaurant was a beacon of goodness. After hours of misfortune, and a futile New Year's Eve search for parking in Chicago, me and my husband were about to file for divorce. The moment we stepped in, we were awash with warmth, lights, and live music, and were promptly directed to the best seats in the house. We ordered take-out and I was not disappointed in the meal. One item was the fish and chips, and although that wasn't mine (not a fish person) I know was told it may have been better if eaten at the restaurant while it was fresher and more crisp, which is fair. I got the Dubliner burger which was pretty good, and my mom chose the shepherds pie and I didn't actually realize I would like that dish but this one proved me wrong. I'd definitely order the shepherds pie on my own sometime instead of stealing a bite of mom's. I got some buttered pasta and broccoli for the baby and she was very happy with that selection. They have a lot of outdoor seating and I'd like to eat out there. I'm sure I'll be back and look forward to exploring more of the menu. read more

This was a nice, pleasant place for dinner in a casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and the seating very comfortable. I was surprised at the interesting menu and enjoyed everything that I had here. First, was the amazing Reuben Wontons. How great is that as an idea for an appetizer...and so well prepared. Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We were seated outside which was great! They have quite a bunch of tables set outside and partially on the street which was nice to see Park Ridge do to help their restaurants in the downtown area. Parking is a huge challenge here but we got lucky finding one around the block. Our waitress was extremely patient, friendly and helpful. She was also very attentive considering all the customers and tables she had. The apps were great and so was the fish and chips. The chicken pretzel was a bit dry though. If I come back I will def try more items on the menu. As an Irish pub this is a great location, good menu with lots of choices for discerning eaters and the beer selection is awesome too! read more

We ordered 2 corned beef sandwiches with fries to go on St. Patrick's Day expecting to eat a delicious meal. What a disappointment! The sandwich was so bland made with 1/2" chunks of corned beef that kept falling out, had no flavor served on a chewy marbled rye. Don't go there and waste $35.41 plus tip on totally bad sandwiches. The first time I visited I came with a friend from out of town. The place was somewhat empty on a Tuesday or Wednesday night earlier this year (March perhaps?). We were seated at a counter height table in the bar area. I got the bangers and mash and they were very good. He got fish and chips and said they were good. The service was good, the food was good and the bar was a really cool place to be. I would have given this place an easy 4-5 stars. Then I come here with my wife and 5 friends on a Saturday night in April. The place was packed. It was kind of loud and there were some definitely obnoxious 20-somethings there home from college early or something. And the food, no matter what we ordered, was really disappointing. Our server was as non-existent as the overly attentive server at the next table over. Their server helped us more than ours. Never checked on us, never came by for refills or to bring a second beer for some of our party. In fact, our server was never around...until she brought the check then she couldn't leave us alone until we paid and then she was gone again like a fart in the wind. Awful! My wife and I went about 5 years ago , a few times, and found the portions very small so never went back until yesterday. We thought we would have fish and chips and a Ruben which we did and both were terrible. The Ruben had no sour kraut! When you walk through Harp and Fiddle's front door on a weekday night, you're likely to pass by a dozen people talking, laughing, and enjoying each other's company in an ear-splitting way. Then, as you're walking to your table, you're likely to pass a handful of people who are glued to the game on the bar TVs. You couldn't blame them, there were so many TVs where it was difficult to not gaze at them - yet they weren't bothersome or obnoxious by any means. The menu here offers ultimate comfort foods, from burgers to flatbreads, and a number of Irish treasures like the Guinness Stew or the Reuben Wantons. And what better way to honor the Irish heritage than to participate in its drinking culture? To act otherwise would be rude. Harp and Fiddle has a stellar craft beer list, but we decided to order Lavender Bee's Knees and Beautiful Day from their Specialty menu. The latter had a neat presentation, and sipping from the sugar rimmed glass didn't leave a grainy feeling in your mouth. The sugar particles were softened with honey and cinnamon, so when you drink from the glass you don't get that gritty sensation. The drink itself tasted just like grapefruit, but ends with that sour kick at the end - the kind where it forces you to make a scrunched up face like you've eaten a sour patch kid instead. I learned that the Baja Burger is always recommended here, and rightfully so. Though the bite was big enough where it flared-up my TMJ and made my jaw pop (that's why I'll advise eating it with a fork and knife), you can't go wrong with the flavor it provides. It's soft, thick, and oozes the Baja sauce when you're biting into it. Plus, what could be better than the thick blanket of grilled onions on top of the patties, adding a certain squishiness and a depth of sweetness. And as for the Truffle Fries, the amount of truffle taste you get from them almost feels sybaritic. The flatbreads come second to the Great Baja Burger, particularly the Sausage & Peppers Flatbread. The dough was soft, hot, fluffy, smothered with cheese, sausage, basil, and generously garnished with parmesan cheese. Though we also tried the Margarita and Fig flatbread, as well as the Apple & Goat Cheese, the balsamic deduction drastically overwhelmed all the other ingredients with its rich and intense sweetness. A little would've gone a long way. I'm not from Wisconsin, but I already know Harp and Fiddle makes the state proud with their Cheese Curds. The crisp, golden brown crust of the curds crunches in a satisfactory way, and the Baja sauce served on the side brings forth a tart, tangy flavor that doesn't overthrow, but somewhat enhances, the sharpness of the white cheddar cheese. The non-traditional Ruben Wontons are fine, but not something that was necessarily appetizing or something I'd order again. If you want to have an Irish-American feast in the Park Ridge area, Harp and Fiddle may be just what you're looking for! read more

Our group was seated in an enclosed patio. This space is not as attractive or welcoming as the indoor dining rooms. What's more, we dined here on a hot day and the AC and ceiling fans were insufficient to cool this barn-like space. The patio-type chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Previously, all of the food was wunnerful. This time, it was hit-or-miss. I ordered Paddy's pot roast. T'wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't the best. The texture was a tad too chewy and the braising liquid imparted an intense flavor closer to salty/bitter than savory. My Missus ordered the balsamic glazed salmon. The salmon was superb but the accompanying mashed potatoes were dry and bland as though they had been prepared much earlier in the day and sat on the back burner. Our server offered to bring a substitute--steamed broccoli--but this did not arrive until after she had finished her meal. So, the server brought her a comp dessert, which was the proper thing to do. One of our companions ordered mahi mahi tacos. The mahi mahi was dryish and did not taste freshly prepared. Another who ordered the Boston baked cod ate less than half. She described it as "not my favorite." Those who ordered sandwiches or Irish specialties, e.g. corned beef & cabbage, fish & chips, or shepherd's pie, generally fared better. Before even walking in, the restaurant sets a good impression with their curb appeal. The exterior was picture-perfect with twinkle lights above the outdoor seating. After going inside, you can tell it is a cute local bar and restaurant that seemed like a good place to watch a game, catch up with friends, or get a casual dinner. I came in shorts and a sweatshirt and no one made me feel out of place. I came on a weeknight after the kitchen had closed so I cannot speak about the food... but my cocktail was just ok. There were three of us together, two of whom ordered the strawberry mint lemonade tito's drink. Both of our drinks tasted like the strawberry lemonade Svedka you used to drink in college- not the best flavor. The cocktail did not taste anything like mint or strawberries, and barely tasted like lemonade. My friend and I struggled to finish the drinks, but our other friend got a Blood Orange Margarita and was OBSESSED. The staff was friendly and the food menu looked great which is why I am giving 4 stars. If you take anything away from this, let it be some drinks are better than others. read more

We had a 30th surprise party last week at Harp and Fiddles and from the moment I made a phone call and spoke to Monica the anser was always, "Sure we can do that". As an event planer she could not have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. The place is so very quaint and perfect for a wonderful party, with excellent food and the servers were more than EXCEPTIONAL. Thank you to FANTASTIC, hard working servers we had!!!!! Amazing!!!
