A delectable Harp and Fiddle Old Fashioned.

I guess it's been 7 years since I last stepped into Harp and Fiddle but I was very happy to return here to celebrate the fulfilled life of a dear neighbor. The Celebration of Life event was held in their private room and Harp and Fiddle did a most excellent job from my POV for about 100 folks. The staffers did a great job with the catering and the open bar services. It was an appropriately festive occasion for someone who lived life to the fullest and Harp and Fiddle was the perfect venue for honoring such a person. Kudos and thank you!

Great pub in Park Ridge! Perfect to watch a game on their TV or eat for brunch. I met my 3 friends here for a Sunday brunch and got seated easily. The server was prompt and polite. We all ordered our drinks and food in a timely manner. I ordered hot tea and built my own omelette with spinach, tomato, ham, and cheddar. The food was delicious and fresh. I loved their breakfast potatoes, they were the best texture! The price for everything was reasonable, would recommend!

Really great service and atmosphere, we sat outside in a splendid outdoor space. The 'chicken and pretzel' burger was excellent - marinated chicken, candied bacon, and crispy onion, with truffle fries and the best garlic aoli. Unfortunately the fish and chips was only average, let down by a bland batter that I had to ask salt for, and it still couldn't save it. The fish was fresh enough, so overall not bad for pub food. I had the real thing in Scotland perfectly seasoned so perhaps that wasn't a fair comparison. The lemon sorbet with strawberries and blueberries was a great palate cleanser, especially after the French onion soup. My partner said the alcohol-free Guiness was not bad at all, with cherry notes. The soup was alright. Service always came promptly with a smile.

The facility is easy to find in the first floor and located about the middle of the building. There is parking on the street in front of the building. There are several tables and booths as well as a full bar. Staff was super friendly. Although, we only had one set of silverware with napkin. My son ordered the chicken and pretzel sandwich with the onion strings and bacon on the side and fries. He did not recieve the onion rings at all. His review is that the chicken had no flavor but with the cheese sauce that was on the side. Not sure if the sauce usually comes on the side or if the request for the onion strings was misunderstood for the cheese on the side but it sounds as though it certainly should be on the sandwich. I ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich with fries. Kind of taken aback by the red sauce on the bun at first as I'd not seen this before, but the sandwich was delicious. I noticed the chicken wasn't very flavorful either, but the other ingredients made up for it. I love pesto! Not used to the fresh mozzarella being cooked either, it was a nice twist. The place was busy and loud. It's a nice place and it appears there are many regulars.

Went to try their brunch menu for the first time. Everything was delicious! The french onion soup was very cheesy but yummy. We will definitely be back again as we love going to this local spot for beers and dinner

Spied this place as we drove by on our way to another yelp event and made a mental note to return, so glad we did. We walked in prime time Saturday night around 630 or 7pm, the place was packed, there was a 40 minute wait for a table, but we were able to find two seats at the bar with no trouble, winning! Even better, sat in front of the taps, so full view of the beer situation. An impressive array of taps to choose from, so enjoy! The cocktail menu is no slouch either. Watched one of the bar tenders make a house barrel smoked old fashioned, wasn't quick enough on the camera to film but it was neat to see. After seeing it served to one of our bar neighbors, we shared the 16oz double bone in bershire pork chop special, it was delicious. As we were getting ready to depart, we learned that a group of friends happened to be en route at the same time, so I asked for a table of seven to be put together and just like that, it was ready. Can't really ask for more than that, the service here was great. Live music was taking place, as well as, a fund raising event towards the rear and spilling over into the private event space. This did make navigating to the bathrooms, which were in the rear, a little challenging, it was like running a gauntlet. Outside of that, the drinks were great, the food great, the service great, and I think we found a new fave. We will be back for more beer, and next time I have my eyes on the mussels and guinness french onion soup. Slainte!

I had really high hopes for this place after reading the reviews, but unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. It was pretty quiet in there for a Saturday at noon. We were quickly seated and service was excellent the whole time. However, besides the service, everything else about our experience was a major flop. The food and drinks were not good. The seasonal cocktail I ordered had no flavor and didn't taste anything like the description. They also advertise the prosciutto sandwich as having "field greens" - it was ice berg lettuce, which was comical. I won't be back!

this one bartender on the patio was quite... impolite, to say it nicely... Other than that, it's good but like customer service???

Really bad experience with the front desk, the lady can't just care less if you stay or if you go.

Not gimmicky like a lot of these kinds of bars but one with actual Irish owners. Of course it's also pretty cool hearing the Irish accents and not just people pretending or whatever. Authentic Irish is a pretty good description of it. It's not a too crazy place except St. Patrick's Day of course, probably because this is mostly people from the neighborhood. This isn't known among tourists or even most people in Chicago it seems. It makes it much less crowded. This is a small bar, so any crowd will make it seem crowded though. It's $5 for Guinness. They give you a big glass, lots of the Irish stuff. Has lots of authentic Irish booze. It's just lacking in the food. They have bags of chips and those kinds of things.
