Their thoughtfully curated menu may be compact, but it offers a great variety--from fresh salads and wood-fired pizzas to steaks, seafood, and chicken dishes--so there's truly something for everyone. The drink menu is just as fun, with creative cocktails named after iconic songs and music titles, adding a unique touch to the experience. We've heard very good things about Patina and we're excited to try it tonight. As soon as we walked in the staff was very kind and attentive. We love the ambiance of the restaurant. It's very peaceful, romantic and a calm atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The plating is so attractive! The dishes have great flavor but are healthier options. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. He said to give him a call and he'll try to accommodate whenever possible to make his customers happy. What an amazing restaurant. We cannot wait to come back and see what's new. Revisited after the full kitchen moved here from their other location. A superb experience! Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly. The vibe here definitely meets a park ridge niche that nothing else does - intimate but elevated, a great date night place. Excellent cocktails and decent portions. Tuna tower was a fun app and we ordered lamb chops and a pasta for our mains. My only wish is that they had a slightly larger menu. I hope they add to it or do seasonal offerings because the selection is not too large and we pretty much maxed out what we'd be interested in trying in one visit. But they did it well and we enjoyed the Valentine's Day touched around the restaurant! read more

I'd say a solid 3.5. It was nice to be able to sit outside. The menus have this attempt at a faux gold design that makes them look dirty, but I realized it was the design when it was on the next section. The service was spotty at best. When we saw the waiter they didn't seem to care, and it was awkwardly long in between items. I thought it was insane because it seemed like there were staff everywhere. We ordered crostini and charcuterie to share and I had a cake. The crostini was just good and charcuterie had a nice spread. I was pleasantly surprised when it came with a jam, honey, pickles, and mustard. I hate to say I wasn't expecting much. The cake was quite good- tasted homemade more so than elegant. The glass wine selection had many types of wine, but I didn't recognize the brands. The glass of temprinillo I got was pretty good. The mocktail I had next had a ton of flavor. Charcuterie Heaven! Being obsessed with charcuterie boards, this place was a must during our visit to Chicago. The wine is great (they do different size pours/tastings and change seasonal offerings), the flatbread pizza is delicious and the perfect light bite, and they offer charcuterie as well! The outdoor patio is beautiful, but indoor is cozy and perfect for a friend date, too! Service is attentive and not pushy, which I do appreciate when I'm just trying to sip wine and chat! This is another one of our go-to date night spots in the neighborhood. It's a cute little wine bar with great service and outstanding food and drinks. We have been here maybe 7 times in the past few months and never get tired of it. My favorite is the lamb chops. They never disappoint. Loved everything about this place! Super cute, intimate space. Cocktails were delicious. We ordered the brussels sprout flatbread, tuna tower, and cannellini crostini. Everything was delicious. The flatbread toppings were really loaded on and it was super filling. Loved that the tuna tower was 90% tuna and 10% avocado (it's the opposite at most other places). I was absolutely delighted with everything at Patina. My friends and I had a Friday night reservation for 4 at 7pm - glad we had a reservation, it was full! We started with wine - I love that they have different levels of pours. I had an Oregon Pinot noir that was outstanding. As it's mostly a small plates sharing experience, we ordered 4 things - sweet potato and ricotta crostini, 2 flat breads (bbq pulled pork and margherita), and Korean bbq meatballs. Everything was so so good! We ate every crumb - the only halfhearted criticism is that I think the sweet potato crostini would be better warm. But the flavor was rich and delightful. I could have eaten 50 of those meatballs and the flatbreads were generously topped and baked to perfection - sometimes flatbreads are dry and mediocre - these were some of the best I've ever had. The desserts were INCREDIBLE. Salted caramel cake and a lemon berry cake - both were positively sumptious. Our server was so great - attentive, answered all of our questions, and didn't flinch when we asked for recommendations (or split the bill 4 ways). Just a tip- Parking can be tricky as it's close to the Metra, so plan some time on a weekday especially to find a spot. I will be back to Patina wine bar!! read more

The ambiance was very good and love the outdoor seating option. On a Thursday there was not enough servers. We had to flag down down a server after only being provided water to get service for wine and food. The server was unfamiliar with wine on the menu and when wine was delivered it was unclear which wine 3 oz glasses were which, marking on paper sheets or the wine glasses would be helpful. The wine we ordered was not good. I ordered 3 white, 2 out of 3 were not really drinkable. The glasses not consumed were charged to the bill. This experience and the total bill for 2 apps and drinks being over $100.00 will not have me coming back. I really wanted to like this place! read more

I love this place. From the ambiance to the staff to the food, everything was great. They have a great drink selection, and I love that they put water and biscuits out for local dogs that walk by. I'm not usually a cocktail gal but they had a Harvest Moon cocktail that sounded incredible, so I went for it. Twice. I haven't finished a cocktail in nearly ten years, then go to Patina and have two in one night! It was delicious. The crab cakes were amazing, the spiced chickpeas - just thinking about them now is making my mouth water. The only thing that let me down was the caramelized peach crostini - it just didn't work for me texturally. But that's definitely personal preference. I really love this place. read more

While it's a wine bar, in my opinion they make the best Old Fashioned and Manhattan in Park Ridge. Frankie and Nicky do an amazing job behind the bar. We've gone twice now. A fantastic place! The staff is attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. One of the bartenders, Frankie goes the ten extra miles to make the patrons feel welcome and comfortable. The room is tasteful and inviting. Excellent selection of wines by the glass or bottle. Exceptional craft cocktails (look for the seasonal specials). The food, especially the specials is inspired! So fun alone or with friends. Every wine I tried on the menu was fabulous. The meat/cheese plate was full of flavor (Humbolt Fog Goat Chease and the spicy njuda were super). But the first bite of bliss during my first visit was the sweet red grape crustada (don't remember the exact name). So balanced that I could tell the chef really knew what he was doing. I also had some flatbreads that were nice. The free wine tastings every month are really fun. The atmosphere is cozy/romantic and adult. Not much for kiddos on the menu, but there could be something depending on your kid... or leave the kids at home. The outdoor space (aka the sidewalk/street) is nice enough.. a bit close to cars wizzing by but not different than other restaurants in that area. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. He even cocreated some of the cocktails and they are paired with a Spotify song (QR code on the menu). I love that creativity! I love the wine so much that I haven't ventured to try the cocktails yet. I have been 2 times to eat and one time for the free wine tasting. This might turn into a habit! read more

A new hidden gem in park ridge! Stopped by here with my boyfriend and we will most definitely be back! The service was amazing! We were served by Megan and were also greeted by Nikki who is a bartender. Both lovely and so great at what they do. We ordered a bottle of "the prisoner" but there are sooo many different wines to choose from! Served a bit chilled which is a huge plus. We paired that with a charcuterie board and Margarita flatbread with soppressata added to it. The board was delicious, everything tasted super fresh. The margarita flatbread was AMAZING!! Honestly one of the best we've had to date. At the end of the night the manager was sweet enough to send over a complementary drink and dessert to try out! We also had the opportunity to meet the chef who was very kind and knowledgeable about his menu. Overall the place is perfect for a cute date night or some quiet catching up! Went here for a brunch on a Saturday. We started off with a bottle of prosecco and ordered the smoked steak tartar. I wish I had known how lovely the presentation was going to be! I also ordered a 3 ounce pour of a fancy Pinot Noir to go with it. All of the wines by the glass are available in a 3 ounce pour so you can make your own flight. Then we ordered some meats and cheeses. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect.We ended up staying for 2 hours, chatting with the owner only to find out that they also have an amazing bourbon selection! Second time visiting this place and have had great food, wine, and conversation! Wally has been our server both times and he is the bomb. Knowledgeable as well as funny. All the appetizers we tried were awesome! The Korean Bbq meatballs, the tuna tower, and my favorite the Smoked Steak Tartare outstanding. Park Ridge needed a fun wine bar! Thus place will do well in Park Ridge!. Can't wait to come back soon for a girls night out. If there's any negative it would be the metal chairs.
