Nice office staff , so friendly and answered all our questions about the campground. The first night we stayed there it was nice but just a bit crowded. And we couldn't use our fire ring and our shade attachment at the same time as it was too close. But the site was nice. The second night we had a family about 3/ camp spaces down from us that were throwing a football down in front of our campsite and hit our truck several times and ran through our campsite getting our dog worked up with no regard. Lots Of others were super nice and friendly though. I would stay here again at a different site. read more

We only stayed 2 nights. The staff was nice. Sites were crowded. The neighbors were encroaching on our site, blowing up pool toys and a guy was taking an outdoor shower. I wish the adults could have the pool for an hour before the diaper brigade converged at the pool. Many people would smather themselves with suntan lotion and then jump in the pool. We even saw people putting lotion on IN the pool. It was like an oil slick. We didn't stay long at the pool too crowded. People with golf carts are driving around at night without lights on. Being electric you don't hear them. Will definitely think about another campground and not return here. read more

Disappointing place it was expensive and we ended up on a pad that barely fit our class a motorhome in the mud. If it wasn't for a permanent guest on pulling in, we would've badly damaged the motorhome with an overhang limb. We arrived at night and were given a spot for a week. We were towing a jeep and could not even turn into our spot, even though we had rented a pull through spot. And then the spot was not level, and there was mud all around, which got tracked into our motorhome. It seemed awful expensive being that this is the off-season and we stayed for a week. The campsite is the closest one to our daughter's house and we may have to come again, but it's not a place that we really like the only really positive note was that we could walk our dog in their wooded area which has paths and it is fairly large. read more

My review is based on my annual experience over the past eight years. This year, several of my concerns appear to have been addressed. While it's too late for the mass departure of annual members this year, I hope this signals that Cross Creek is heading in the right direction. There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Cross Creek raising its rates every year. After eight years of annual camping, our family--along with eight others--made the decision not to renew. Over the years at Cross Creek, we've built lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories, but with skyrocketing prices and the campground's steady decline, we were left with no choice. The turning point came when Cross Creek was acquired by Apple Brook. Almost immediately, staffing was reduced, and the amenities that once made it a premier destination were sold off. What was once a AAA-rated resort quickly deteriorated into a glorified state park. The signs of decline were evident: flowerbeds overgrown with weeds, neglected campsites, and unattended weekend lots. Some areas were so overgrown last year with weeds, it was hard to tell where the gravel ended and the grass began. Safety also became a growing concern during the off season as campers weren't vetted and transients sneaked into the park freely to use the restrooms, showers, washers and dryers. The weekend activities that once defined the campground--such as Harry Potter weekends, haunted houses, escape rooms, and top-tier live music--were replaced with rock painting, karaoke, and second rate bands. When I reached out to the front office two years ago to express my concerns and request a conversation with the owner, I was told he had no interest in speaking with us. The message was clear: with a long waitlist, we were replaceable. When I brought up the decline in activities and amenities, I was told that it was up to the annual campers to organize them--an absurd response. If you're considering Apple Brook, know that it is not the Cross Creek of the past. The AAA-rated resort is gone, replaced by a contractor campground with annual rate hikes and diminishing activities. If you're looking for a seasonal or annual spot, be prepared for a large price increase each year with fewer and fewer amenities. Apple Brook has taken its loyal annual and seasonal campers for granted, and as a result, eight families have either left or will leave in just the next few months. My hope with this review is that Apple Brook management sees this and takes action to restore Cross Creek to the incredible destination it once was. read more

We've been coming here many years; it used to be one of my very favorite campgrounds. The only thing "resort" about it is in the name. The over grown weeds surrounding the sites and patios is ridiculous. Bushes and trees need to be trimmed significantly to accommodate ingress and egress of rigs. Rotted street signs litter the roads, patio furniture is broken/unclean/horrible condition and as one person already mentioned, there are people who show up late/ leave early who don't pay. They did repave the roads and supposedly upgraded sewer and Internet ( which you now pay for!), and added a dog wash station. read more

Very clean, friendly staff, lots to do right on premises from Karaoke nights to specialty food trucks, pool, you name it!! They keep a close eye on everyone and tolerate very little nonsense which we liked !! Highly recommend !! read more

Since selling to Applebrook, this CG has really declined. No more gorgeous flower beds and hanging baskets, out of control weeds and grass growing in all the gravel sites. Pool often closed because filter parts are either not available or too expensive to upgrade the filter, kid-friendly activities and themed weekends are gone. In a nutshell, thank you to Steve Cross and the gang for memorable stays in the past. But since he retired and sold Cross Creek, things have never been the same and I will never go back, eapecially at the premium prices now being charged. Much better off at other nearby CG's like Berkshire Lake that is $100 less per week and has more open spacious sites, a nice (but smaller) pool and a great kids playground, not to mention a beautiful lake for fishing or just hanging out at sunset. When Cross Creek was family-owned, there was personal pride in its management. Now that it is Corporate-owned, management appears to care less. read more

Stayed two weeks and had a great spot (503). This site was close to the front of the resort and was pretty quiet especially during the week. Going more to the back was loaded with children, which I love to see them having fun but with that said, I was happy to be on the end where it was not as active. The swimming pool was nice and on Saturday nites there was a live band. Staff was friendly. We will be back! read more

Love it here! Our family just spent our very last weekend together before sending our oldest daughter off to college in Arizona. We wanted to stay close to home because we're about to go far away. There's no need to go far. This camping resort is really wonderful. Lots of fun, planned activities, clean, well maintained, friendly people and close to everything! Amazing place to stay! SUPER friendly staff, cleanest bathrooms I've seen and a little Creek to go fishing in. The general store has a HUGE selection of pretty much anything you could need until you got to a Walmart. (I got a rain poncho for $2.50) we didn't stay long enough to enjoy the club house and other great amenities here but when we swing through again, it's a must stop. read more

It was a beautiful campground and area. The staff was very friendly. We will not ever go back though as one of the staff stopped us on our second day and said there was a complaint made about our 4 year old riding his 12in electric bike that does not make anymore noise then a golf cart. I was very taken back and told it's in the rules. Well I was not able to locate the rules on there website or the email that was sent to me. Multiple staff members had even seen him the day before and the day of the complaint and never said anything about it. It's sad that an adult has a problem with a child riding a bike that was not doing anything to bother them or the park. I was told they have older residents so I guess that means if you have children you should probably go somewhere else. read more

This review is for the annual Santa's House event that takes place during the Fantasy of Lights. The two events are well paired - closely located and great holiday festivities. The set up and organization for Santa's House is great - there are parking assistants with lights when you pull into the lot to direct you where to go. Then you head towards the office, where there are a number of fun decorations, plus good signage to indicate the major spaces for the event. Inside the office, the friendly staff hands out numbers for those who want to visit with Santa - visits are free, while photos have a small fee ($5-10 depending on what option you select). There is a large waiting area with plenty of chairs, but they also have an intercom system, so you can also head over to the holiday store (also located in the office) or walk next door to a heated tent for complimentary cookies and hot cocoa. Santa was very friendly and patient with the kids. This is well worth a stop after touring the Fantasy of Lights! read more

We came into town at the last minute without reservations because my daughter-in-law went into labor. Even though the campground was full, the staff went out of it's way to find a place for us to stay. Had to move the next day but again they found a place for us. I am sure we will be back many times. read more

Very nice with many things for children. Sites are not level especially for MH's. Electric gets iffy when it is hot out.

If you like a party atmosphere, Cross Creek Resort is the place for you. RVs are packed in like sardines. No privacy! Adults and children constantly cutting through our campsite, loud voices and dogs barking all hours. The staff arent very personable. Its cost prohibitive. It was nearly $300 for 5 days. On a good note, the grounds are well kept and the facilities were clean. We camped at Cross Creek Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer. read more

Sadly the staff lied to us shortly after we arrived to the campground. To be clear, the campground was OK, but the fact that the staff and management- adults- would blatantly lie and be OK with it, was troublesome throughout the rest of our stay. They gave us a Wi-Fi password for the Northwest NW section of the campground when we checked in. Wi-Fi was available but there was no internet connection on any of our devices. (This suggests that the technology for the camp was in place but the owners didn't want to pay for internet access?). We called the office and they suggested that I come to the office, connect to NW there and sometimes it would hold until we returned to our campsite. When I got to the office, NW was not an available connection. Second, I was asked what cell phone I used and when I said iPhone, the manager said, oh the Androids seem to connect much better than iPhone. Yeah. Right. Next she suggested that the cart kid take me to the wi-fi booster to see if his phone could connect. He couldn't connect either. He dropped me at my campsite. I called the office and shared our results. (Ah the tangled webs we weave...). I was told that the IT specialist who is also the maintenance man would climb the pole with the booster and check if anything was wrong but he was out charging a battery. I waited several hours and called the office back. Alas... the maintenance man didn't check the pole. I asked when he would be able to do that and would you call me back? They didn't know. After not receiving a call, I called back and asked for an update. Finally this person, the desk clerk, admitted that the NW hasn't worked for quite awhile, it requires the ISP to get involved, and would cost money for parts to repair. So we had no wi-if at our site for our trip. The initial problem was the wi-fi but the bigger problem was the shenanigans! We had a couple people on-call for their work in our party, so it was a minor issue. And the campgrounds website clearly states that wi-fi is not available at some sites. So why hand out wi-fi password for NW at check-in? Why not admit that there was a problem? Why not just say your sites don't have wi-fi? Why not charge more for wi-fi sites or less for non-wi-fi? Why lie? Also, one of the roads on the pull through slots is a dead end. This gives the campground one more, maybe two more sites to charge for, but is really inconvenient to drive trucks and cars in and out. Other than that... it was OK as far as campgrounds go. Of course sites were a couple feet from your neighbor and some sites didn't have shade. The crowded situation helps fund the activities. The pool was nice but felt freezing because the air temps were so high. There isn't a kiddie area. Water is 3 ft. min. Tramp and playground was nice although the metal benches were too close to areas where kids could fall off equipment and hit benches. The swings were placed in front of a traffic pattern, so toddlers could get knocked out. The wagon ride was good except it only made one loop around the park and we got delayed because a truck was parked on the road and the wagon couldn't go around. Ice cream social was great. Band was fun. Best part was they had shuffleboard. Love shuffleboard. The wi-fi lies left a bad taste in our mouth. Ugh! read more

pulled in and the girl at the desk had no clue if they had cable or wifi, said wifi but no cable so stream netflex. Wifi sucked so bad couldnt even connect and definitely couldn't even stream wifi. This is an rv resort, not really so i wouldnt recommend this place for a one nighter or a longer stay. This is a very nice RV park. Although we were here in the fall and the activities were limits due to weather, I'm sure this place is a hot bed of excitement during the summer months. They have a nice store, pool, playground, dog park, etc. the spots are level and decently shaded. Beware of too much shade, this is Ohio after all (i.e. Buckeyes) and your roof will take a beating in the wind and rain. We will definitely be back next year! read more

My Grandpa likes to stay at Cross Creek and we love to visit him at his camper. The problem is that sometimes Cross Creek charges admission to visitors to enter the resort! We had 5 people in our truck and they charged $25 for us to see our Grandpa for an hour. When we went out for dinner about an hour later the gate was open and folks were getting in free. After I paid the $25 to get in there was nowhere to park. read more

Overpriced. Unpaved sloping sites. Small dog park. Very smoke filled from mostly unattended campfires-not recommended for anyone with allergies or breathing problems. Stayed here once and got a great spot that we liked. Tried to get a reservation but they wouldn't allow you to book a specific site. They only book by site type, ie electric and water. They will book you a spot but not the spot. (that you might want) Said they put down as a preference for you but could not guarantee it would be open when you get there? Huh? That is a first time for that one. It was packed together pretty tight. My slide was almost on fire ring of the next site and that was the spot we liked. Wi Fi didn't work at the site we were at, and they didn't offer any lesser rate to fix that issue. Kids swam in the pool, said it was really crowded in there and its a big pool too! Had a restroom at the far corner of the campground. Pretty convenient and net to have the toilet and sink right here and not have to walk all the way back up front. Decent area to ride bikes in around the park. Other campers were friendly and it was ok. Don't think we'd go back, not sure yet. Hard to come up with a wow factor here. read more
