I will never stay in this place again! This place did not meet my expectations. The first night I discovered that the bed was dirty not even changed there was food crumbs in the bed and it was just covered up. The floors were dirty in the room. The furniture in the room was stained and torn. Even the shower was not clean. The food was not good at breakfast. There was a man there that annoyed me would not let me eat in peace. I did not even go there the next two mornings of my stay because of him. My last night there, my room was not even cleaned no clean towels or washcloths and the bed was not even made. I mentioned this to the front desk and they did not apologize and they said that they do not have anybody that works on the weekend. I had to get out of there and stay with friends the rest of my visit. I would not even rate this place a one star! Unsatisfactory all the way around. What a horrible place. Mold, nasty stuff, crumbling ceilings, messed up flooring, oh and there isn't a hot tub- even though their website says there's one. It's been closed for years. This place is absolutely horrid. They did not give me my deposit back for my pet fee, as promised. (I was there for a dog show, and only stayed 1 night, booked for 2) My one puppy did not run around the room one second. He was crated at night and we were gone the whole first day- so, yes I am entitled to my deposit return. The place is filthy. The floors are peeling up and are a tripping hazard. The bathroom is literally so small you can barely turn around in there and no-I'm not exaggerating. We did not use the pool, but noticed it had no overhead lighting-again...safety, right?. We quickly ran over to breakfast at 8:30am. Breakfast goes until 9 and there was no food or drink- only someone saying they've closed up for the morning. The noise above our room the entire first night was horrendous. I tried to call the desk several times and no one answered. I had a child with me, so did not leave the room. If you would have told me they were having night time demolition completed I would have 100% believed you. I was exhausted and did not sleep for one minute. The AC unit creeks and tings constantly so it's no use. I went straight to the front desk the next day upon returning to our room, where once again the imaginary construction crew was demoing upstairs above us. The front desk said there was nothing they could do about it, and it "wasn't there problem" I was also told this on the phone several times when I called to ask about a refund. The front desk agent did call to the room above us on the second day when I went down to speak to someone and they immediately began cussing and yelling. I don't trust people, you can't... We opted to forgo the hundreds of dollars in entry fees to the dog show the next day and just make the drive home, as I could not stay in this hotel any longer. I have called numerous times and the "manager" is never there to speak with me (even booking.com could not get them to answer). I also woke up to find a new charge on my card for 50.00 that no one can explain. The one time I managed to get "someone who could talk with me" on the phone she told me that they don't provide receipts and it is the customers responsibility to ask for one. I did- and was told they don't provide them printed. I never received one emailed either. She also told me it looked like I was overcharged and she wasn't sure what all of the charges were for. She said "give me 10 minutes and I'll call you back." She never did and then now, still 6 hours later will not answer the phone. This place is not American owned, which shouldn't make a difference. Pretty bad. Our experience suggests that we stick with Hilton properties (e.g. Hampton Inn). This property is "tired" to the point of being somewhat disgusting. The good: Most of the amenities, including an upholstered chair; a very friendly staff, especially the attendant in the breakfast room. The bad: In need of a major makeover; significant ceiling damage, a room safe, light and clock that didn't work; baseboards falling apart; no room carpeting. We were in Delaware for a funeral. Another couple and relative checked in to the Baymount, and found the experience so disgusting that they changed their minds and checked in to the Pacer Motel and Suites, which is closer to Delaware. When we compared our experienced, they told us that theirs was nothing much to look at on the outside, but the rooms were recently upgraded and expanded and, they felt, much better than the Baymont and at a slightly less price. Note to self: next time we'll try Pacer. read more

They refused me when I arrived to check in. I'd rebooked since my usual AirBnB cancelled in the wake of cov19 and I'd just flown in from California. I need to rest and shower after a red eye and a quick visit with family first. I understand the premise of early check in but the place was a ghost town. Seriously. They COULD have accommodated me like they have others as I'm reading here now in other reviews. Front desk guy was apologetic and didn't introduce himself but then said $20 would get me in early. I'd already booked and prepaid online and felt a bit insulted. I said no. I had to drive back to the family's home 15 miles away and wait till 3 to check in. Again. Drop luggage. Quick shower and hurry back 15 miles down the highway for early dinner. Once I returned I was worried. The bed didn't look too comfortable or feel comfortable... and bedding was thin. Toilet paper was awful. Kleenex nowhere to be seen. The bed was indeed terribly uncomfortable and I was cold all night. Using the heater and piping in stuffy heated air isn't my usual way but it's going to have to be tonight. Not looking forward to that awful bargain basement poorly chosen mattress that actually is based on metal rails that squeak! Never again. This place ugggh. $194 for two nights and I'll never return. SMH. have an Airbnb spot I prefer here locally when I travel but this time around my usual hosts had the flu and with cov19 going around they cancelled all their guests thru month end. Stayed here for a family wedding. Staff was cheerful and as accomadating as could be. Their attitudes were the only redeeming qualities about this place. 1) 1st room we checked into had no hot water in shower (126) 2) 2nd room we checked into was dirty. Staff needs to be retrained on how to clean a room. Pictures attached. Pubic hairs on the bathroom floor. Urine at the base of the toilet had not been cleaned from previous guest. Under toilet rim was visibly back and gross. 3) My in-laws checked into what was supposedly a handicapped room. The only accommodations provided were bars in the bathtub and an elevated toilet ring. How does someone with mobility issues step over and elevated tub for entry using grab bars? This should have been a walki n shower or something more accessible. All of the hanging space on the rod in the closet was at 6 feet and above. How does one expect a person with disabilities yo reach this? This room was certainly not ADA compliant. 2 lights were out. Maintenance man was only able to fix 1. 4) The pool was cold. The pools room was colder. As we sat there watching our children play in the water, all of the adults were using towels as blankets to keep warm. One guest asked the maintenance man why the room was so cold. His answer was that with a heated pool and a hot tub there is no need to heat the room. (This was November 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th when outside temperatures were between 18 to 41 degrees) 5) Debi in the breakfast room could not have been nicer. She was definitely the shining star that put a smile on everyone's face. The ladies at the front desk were Johnny on the spot and no hassles about switching rooms( when there was no hot water in the shower. Could not have asked for better service with the exception of the inept maintenance man. Unfortunately with so many other great options in the Columbus area I would not stay here again no recommend anyone else to stay here. read more

TRASHHHH!!! I worked here for a couple months before quitting because I found out how garbage the manager and whole hotel was. Not only do they have roaches running around but they said they only clean the bed blankets ONCE A MONTH?!?! The maintenance man is actually just some homeless man the manager picked up and hired, he has no experience what's so ever. He also has a few other homeless people that work to live there, and they don't care about that job. I was in charge of everything, pool, phone, checking people in and out & let me tell you , ion know what thing about keeping a pool safe and proper but he just threw me out there like I'm supposed to know what to do, hot tubs been closed off for ever now and it's mad disgusting. The jacuzzis in the rooms are always disgusting, they don't properly clean them. Imagine you're at home about to take a bath and you fill up a cup of water and back splash to "clean" it before getting it,, yep that's exactly what they do there, they never clean it or anything properly. In just the two months I worked there I seen the manager argue with multiple customers without helping them at all & taking there money without refunds or fixing any of their problems. He's rude and thinks he can do what he wants. He lies to customers and tells them he's just "an employee" & he will tell the manager when he sees him whatever info they are saying, when in reality he is the manager and owner but doesn't wanna deal with his issues. Also if you find any type of hair anywhere in your hotel it is mandatory that they refund you, it is illegal for any hotel to not refund you after finding human hair in your room, very disgusting and the people there are awful. Breakfast is just a water and hot yoohoo and a granola bar and maybe a banana if your lucky all inside a brown paper bag. The coffee is absolutely awful and they make it in a sink w chemicals in as well, never properly clean the coffee machine either. The "fitness" room doesn't even work because he is missing the start button on his equipment and won't replace them. I believe some employees use our rooms after cleaning & before guests. My stay was July 2021: I would also like to say that if I could give this place ZERO Stars, I would. I will never NEVER stay there again or any baymont for that matter. First of all the room looks nothing like the photos online. The room I was in was the size of a shoe box. The property was run down and very shabby, again nothing like what was represented. When I checked in room 119 I immediately noticed that there was a piece of the laminate floor that was popping up. This would have caused an issue with tripping or possibly injuring a foot if stepped on. Then there was someone else's food left in the refrigerator and remnants of someone else's food in the microwave. Totally disgusting. The coffee pot looked like it was wiped down with used motor oil and it was stocked with a lovely array of one decaf coffee pod. (Not like I was gonna use it). The most disgusting part was that I was getting ready to take a shower (after using Lysol everywhere) I grabbed a towel an looked it over and IT WAS USED and had some god awful stain on it. I went to the front desk where the attendant was very nice but kind of unhelpful but said she would text the owner /manager. I had to ask twice for new towels. She gave me new towels and I looked them over once I got back to the room. After looking at them, I promptly went across the parking lot and bought my own towels at the wal mart. I wanted to check out but couldn't because every hotel in the area was booked solid. Day 2 I went to talk to the manager and was told he would call me back because he was unavailable. Never heard from him. On day four after the 3 night stay I was privileged to see the manager / owner, or I think it was him because I was never answered as to what his role was. He completely sided stepped everything and apologized for NOTHING and then began to get rude with me. He then charged my card and told me I could leave. My husband and I stayed at your Inn from 4/7 to 4/9. The room was clean and nice so we appreciated that. I asked ahead of time to make sure our room was cleaned, and I apologized for asking, due to I had read previous reviews. Mike was very kind. It was our 2nd year wedding anniversary. We called Saturday night for a couple extra pillows at 7:13pm. It was close to 9pm before we got them. Kim said she'd forgotten the room number and she had the pillows at the front desk; my husband went and got them. Sunday night we called around the same time for two extra towels. My husband was shaving. Someone brought the towels over an hour later. The refrigerator door was dirty on the inside and the freezer was iced over and couldn't be used. The desk lamp cord has a short in it. We had to keep moving the cord around to the "right" spot to get the lamp to stay on. The dresser that the TV sits on is damaged on the right hand side, with wood chipped on the side. Furniture and room does show some aesthetic updates, but remains quite dated. Why does any of this matter? Because when I pay $198.34 for two nights at a hotel, I expect the room to be well worth the price. I don't mind paying. We stay at hotels frequently. We were overbooked at a hotel downtown and this place was so courteous on the phone and helped find us a room and even gave us a discount. They also have a gym, pool, and free breakfast that was delicious - not to mention Debbie, who ran the breakfast area, who was the sweetest woman I've ever met. If we return next year for The Arnold Classic again, we will definitely stay here because of her! :) read more

Three stars are based on staff and appearance of this location. Front desk was very nice when I showed up early. I was allowed early check in. Almost 3 hours early. I had no contact with them until day two of my stay. I stayed here from Thursday till Saturday. I noticed a bottle cap under the desk in my room and decided to see if house cleaning would spot it. After returning to my room about 7 pm on Thursday night the bottle cap was still under the desk. I left it in place, Friday upon returning to the room it was still there. So I looked at a couple other spots in the room and found food trays and empty bottles under the TV stand. I had the room directly across from the breakfast room. The door was not cut to fit the opening. So I was woken by the other guest chatting in the room. My room never truly got dark the light from the hall shown in from the crack. I have attached a pic of each comment. So as far as housekeeping this place isn't very good. read more

I have stayed at this property in the past and I wished my experience was the same as the first. I had an early check in and they accommodated me. My room was on the second floor and that was a hassle because we were bringing in my daughter's college items that were stored in the car. When we got to the room it had a strong odor in it. I immediately called the front desk and they switched us to the room next door. The room is pretty basic with a larger mini fridge. The upkeep of the room is not the best. It was dusty and could use an upgrade. The breakfast was great. Debra who runs the kitchen was a charm and very helpful. She is the highlight of this establishment. read more

A terrible place to stay. The front desk staff were generally rude. The young woman who checked us in was more worried about the two workers at the desk talking than she was getting us the connecting room we were supposed to have. I also witnessed one of the workers at the front desk yelling at the manager/owner about payroll and telling him, "I'm going outside for a smoke before I say something I regret." That type of behavior in front of guests is unacceptable at any type of business. I was also concerened that despite signs noting that key cards were needed to access the read building doors and the pool, we easily walked in at all hours without a key card. While the area was nice, security shouldn't be that lax. Finally, everything looks old and worn. That isn't a huge deal, but for the price, pay $20 more and stay somewhere newer and nicer. read more

Just spent 12 days here for work. Its a conveniently located near shops and restaurants and only 25 minutes or so from downtown columbus. The hotel staff are fantastic. The hallways are showing a little wear and tear but my room was great. A comfortable and clean room with a nice wood laminate floor and a great tv. The only real downside for me was the inability to bring beer into the pool/hot tub after a 12 hour shift. That apparently is a Ohio (or county) thing and not a hotel policy. The real high point is the amazing lady running the breakfast room, Deb! She went above and beyond to make sure we were well fed before a long day at work. Her cheerful and positive demeanor kept us going. She's amazing! Will be back again! read more

Ok, to be fair, Delaware is not a hotbed of luxurious hotels and resorts. Parents in assisted living here, I try to stay close. Hotel seemed ok at check-in. Even "ok" after the first night. After the first night told the front desk the tub would not drain (response was "we'll see if we can look at it - huh??). Hear loud music as I walk down the hall...Housekeepers are playing music on their phones as they clean rooms (What reputable hotel allows that??). Also told them we were out for the day so they were welcome to clean the room any time. Back to the hotel at 10:00 PM, room key does not work, rooms not cleaned (front desk response: "I'm really busy, I'll see if I can reach the front desk manager to see why it wasn't cleaned - huh again??). Hour passes, no call back. I stay in hotels 2 to 3 days a week (Hilton 99.9% of the time), never experienced this level of incompetence in any brand. Wyndham, I'd rip your name off of this property ASAP. Stay anywhere else. read more
