I was referred to Shirley Chao by a friend of mine. Boy oh boy, I will be forever grateful! Their nurses are the cutest Chinese ladies around. They're so gentle, they always ask you if it hurts whenever they're doing something inside your mouth. How thoughtful! Shirley has to be the most awesome dentist around. She's super professional and way friendly at the same time. She makes you feel at ease before she starts on you, which is definitely calming. Once she starts, it's game on! She has this serious face like most other dentists have, but she's completely gentle. When she shot me up to numb my gums, all I felt was a slight pinch. Although she gets very busy with patients, she takes her time with you to make sure the job is done perfectly. Want to get your teeth whitened? She charges about $500! She suggested using "Crest Whitening Strips." They work just as well. It's so easy for me to go to the dentist now. I don't get knots in my stomach or sweaty palms in fear of all the pain I may face. FYI -- She ONLY accepts PPO insurance. Also, she's really popular. If you don't have a flexible schedule, expect an appointment at least two months out! Her popularity should say something about her skills.

He is immediately concerned, and I find myself Yelping for a dentist. It says by appointment only, but I definitely think I could've walked in and they would still have seen me. I called and whomever answered was very friendly and said to just show up. Easy process, and uh, I can't remember who did my initial consultation, but after taking a look she said "Ooh your gums do look a little angry," and I was sold. Quick X-ray confirmed I had an infected tooth, she prescribed antibiotics, sent me on my way to return in a few weeks for extraction since it was a wisdom tooth. Consultation? only $30 since I was doing a follow-up procedure. On-site pharmacy was great. Booked a Saturday appointment with Dr. Henry Lee, showed up at 11am, was done by 11:40am after a quick and painless extraction. Granted, I only had one tooth taken out, but he was efficient, professional, and for anyone who cares... they are a predominantly Chinese clinic, but he and the other dentist as well as assistants all spoke perfect English (We talked about grad schools and the benefits of quinoa while I was getting numbed up.) The extraction cost only $150 for one tooth with local anesthesia... small price to pay for not having insurance!

I had gone in for an emergency appointment, I told the doctor/nurses how I was feeling about it everything and they were all very accommodating and compassionate. Once I got in the room, everything went so fast, they definitely didn't give me a chance to think about what was going to be happening and before I knew it I was fast asleep. The procedure went by so quick! I did feel a little out of it after but there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. I will be doing a follow up in 2 weeks to ensure my recovery is going well and the wounds are healing properly. I definitely will be going back here to look into getting braces since the wisdom teeth ended up causing a lot of overcrowding in mine. Thank you to Dr. Choyee and everyone here!

Highly recommend Dr. Choyee for your oral surgery needs!…read more My wisdom teeth had been causing pain for a few weeks, so I was looking to get them extracted as soon as possible. I had a consultation with a different dentist, but I felt a a bit uneasy about the treatment plan they suggested, so I wanted to get a second opinion from an oral surgeon. I came across Dr. Choyee's practice while searching for oral surgeons that accepted Delta Dental PPO and found positive reviews. Upon calling his office, I was grateful that they had availability later that week for a consultation & same day extraction. Even starting from the phone call, I already felt more at ease. The receptionists were all very knowledgeable and helped explain how my insurance would be applied and other things to expect. The day of the extraction, I was at the office for an hour in total (consultation + extraction). After taking a quick panoramic x-ray, I decided to go with local anesthesia and only felt mild pressure during the procedure. No stitches were needed and I was sent home with gauze & instructions to pickup a mouthwash from my local pharmacy. Overall, Dr. Choyee and his staff were kind, thorough, and made the process a lot less painless than anticipated.

At my previous dental office, I never had to pay anything out of pocket for a routine cleaning. However, the dentist here claimed I have gum inflammation and said I needed a deep cleaning that would cost $600, plus a filling for another $600. The staff also offered to check something (I can't remember what it was) and said it was free, but afterward, someone else came in and tried to charge me $25 for it. When I told her I had been told it was free, she said it would be waived. I just wanted a regular cleaning that would be fully covered by my insurance, but they tried to charge me over $1,000 for additional procedures. I was here for 1.5 hours and didn't even get my teeth cleaned. They just kept examining me and trying to sell me treatments I don't need. It's a waste of time. Stay away from this place. I would not recommend it to anyone.

One of my biggest concerns was the cleanliness and the lack of professionalism I observed during my visits. While I was being given local anesthesia, the dental assistant and dentist were chatting with each other throughout the procedure, which made me feel that they were not giving the treatment their full attention. During my last visit, another male patient came into the office to complain about what he believed were unsanitary practices that had resulted in inflammation or infection around his tooth. Hearing this while I was there made me even more concerned about the hygiene standards of the office. More importantly, since having the deep cleaning done here, I have noticed a significant deterioration in how my teeth feel. I developed considerable sensitivity to both hot and cold, and my teeth now feel much more sensitive and problematic than they did before the treatment. I cannot say medically what caused these problems, but the change after my treatment here has been very noticeable and concerning. Based on my personal experience with the cleanliness, professionalism, and the condition of my teeth following treatment, I would not return to this dental office and cannot recommend it to others for sure.
