Whether it is working with her in a single session or in a group, she does a great job at making sure you feel comfortable with the exercise and weight, but by no means is she going to take it easy on you. She kicks my butt every single time I go in there! But having had a bulging disk in my lower back, she tailors the workouts so I can strengthen those muscles yet not hurt myself. I've been going to Studio Fitness since March, and in those three months I've lost 20 lbs, 6" off my waist, and I just ran my first sub 7:00 mile! I've had memberships at other national gym chains, but never had the desire to make it a regular part of my routine. But now, I really look forward to my gym sessions with Darcy each week. I could totally tell that this was a great gym by the way that they were such great hosts at the Festivus Games which I attended with my local gym. The MC (and owner) was hilarious on the mic, with silly dad-style dance moves (he also was not afraid to make a call-out mid-WOD on the microphone, which I definitely found encouraging) and the judges were the coaches at the gym and you could tell that they actively wanted the athletes to succeed (one judge in particular for one of my gym mates actively was cheering her on, and helped her increase her rep count during a WOD). Looking forward to going back whenever I'm in the area!

The staff is friendly, they always greets you with the smile. I love the open floor plan, the brightness and the cleanliness of this gym. It has an indoor track, there's a daycare available inside the facility though it's not free (but you need to register at the CYS main office before you can use the daycare), the sauna is clean and doesn't have a funky smell, they offered great classes and if you want you can request for a trainer. Overall, this is an excellent gym, it's well kept and organized. You're getting all these amenities for FREE. So, what are you waiting for? Let's do some cardio!!! :)

A friend told me about the Groupon deal (which was about $70/month for unlimited classes), so I decided to try it out. Dustin, Jake, Jeremy, Rae, and many other instructors have helped me so much in learning all the right technique and encouraging me to never give up. All the members are so friendly and motivating. Many of the members would come up to me and introduce themselves even after a sweaty and tough workout. Everyone is so encouraging, which makes me give my 100% every WOD. CrossFit is definitely a good workout when you want to get sweaty in less than an hour. It incorporates both strength training and cardio, which is perfect for me. And they have some good pump-up music which is a plus :) I love the environment here, and I will miss everyone who has been part of my CrossFit journey.
