I believe that is completely illegal, I'm surprised someone doesn't sue her for it. The owner is stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. And losing long-term members because of it. I was kicked out of the FB members page on May 15th even though I was paid until the 31st. So I could no longer see what the workouts were. I asked the owner why, and she just said, " That's what's best for now, I'll send you over the workouts in an email." I never once received an email with the workouts. The coaches can be unprofessional at times, starting class late just to "wait on members" who are consistently late to class, making the class go over in time. I used to love this gym, but things have gone down hill the last few months sadly.

Case in point, on day one the owner diagnose an issue that I was having with my form for one of the Olympic, weightlifting movements, which another gym in the areas coaches hadn't noticed for seven months, and had led to an injury. Day one Joe diagnosed the problem and it was fixed without me even asking!There are two sides of the gym, dedicated for electric weightlifting on one side, and the other side, high intensity, interval training. This shit is easily accessible, clean, and has easy parking. It is not a globo gym, nor is it simply an iron fitness. There is space for what you need if it's a casino workout, or you're dropping in for open gym or individual weightlifting session. Coaches run classes on time, one hour, which is not the experience that I have had other community style gyms in the past in the area. American flag over the door, attentive coaches and community, never asking for reviews online (a great plus!), accessible in ten minutes or less from JBLM, Lakewood, all the way up to Ruston. I wish there were more around because I moved out of the area and don't go here anymore. I was so impressed with the gym that I drove up from LACEY multiple days a week, a 45 minute drive one way on average with traffic. I liked the Iso-lateral equipment and some of the body builder stuff. Only to show up this week and see that the owner decided it was a marvelous decision to install an AI vending machine. Billions of styles of vending machines out there, all made to improve the systems and processes of ensuring products dont get stuck and that payments go through correctly. Just so that the owner can make a couple more bucks and provide beverages outside of normally staffed hours. Funny considering there is already on call staff for the phones in case you cant get into the building that live close enough that if you needed help, they could show up. (according to other staff when I was starting at the gym, was said in the tour) they could get a nice, not ai vending machine and just have someone already on call show up to fix it if it got stuck. I am so disappointed that the owner decided to be part of the problem and support these systems that are causing these data centers and water pollution. Obviously a very broad statement but those who understand the problem with AI understand what I mean, and if you dont you should probably start reading up on it more. The pricing however, not honoring legacy members after years of being part of the community, was a little ridiculous, since many gyms around will only raise rates for newcomers, not legacy members. Also, the personal training is really expensive and doesn't roll over, which is really awful, because everyone has lives and responsibilities and sometimes the gym and personal life clashes. I don't think it's fair to punish people who have a harder time scheduling sessions to lose out on a lot of money. It's turning into a cash grab in my opinion, and I will miss the community I loved so much.

I have been with Crunch for just shy of a year. I really like the vibe, and overall it is a great…read morespace. I gave it a 4, not for anything major, and its more personal. I am one of those that has to keep taking runs at the gym, need to go, but find it intimidating, and fairly easily talked out of gym day. If you are a gym person, that won't bug you and it is probably 5 stars all the way. One of the reasons I joined here were there classes, and what seems to happen every time i join some place for the classes, they cancel classes. They still have a LOT of classes, and if you are into yoga, and variations of that, you will LOVE this place. I do not... Their Hiit classes are getting more popular, and I am sure they are great, I am not ready to do them, not even close, but the problem, for me, is when they are going on, you can't use the Hiit zone, which is easily a 1/3 of the gym floor. This is not a big space, they have used the space efficiently, but when you lose a good portion, its cramped. and also, my favorite things to do, the things that get me to the gym are in the Hiit zone, so class days, no zone, but also, space isnt available, so that means that the hard cores are crammed together competing for space, so those that might be more inclined to use the free weights etc. are backed up, so they park on the circuit machines, basically that means that I am not getting a work out in because I (and others like me-yes there have been discussions) rely on the consistency of the circuit, and the fact that i have zero idea how to replicate on the other machines, that are packed any way. so I go find the one thing i can do, get frustrated (this is on me, i know, but iykyk, if you don't you can't understand) and just bag it. Then go to the massage chairs, the membership is worth those chairs. Generally don't have too many issues there other than basic common courtesy form other members. The area is for upgraded membership, has tanning beds, red light saunas and a stretching mat area and 4 massage chairs. back to the classes, they have cancelled pretty much every class that I enjoyed, and the reason i joined, so no classes for me until i get to a point that i can literally survive hiit, but, based on the amount of people in these classes, they are full by the time i look at them, so that's probably not going to happen either. The locker rooms (women's - haven't seen the mens) is small, uncomfortable, and poorly designed, I think most people, literally use it as a place to put their things, there is 2 small tiny benches, and more than 2 people in there and it genuinely feels uncomfortable. The showers are awful. There is no place to hang a towel, or your bag...just don't join thinking showering after your workout or workout shower, get ready for work is going to be a thing. some do, but not many, because, i believe there intent was they didn't want that. Never got my shirt for joining, not sure why that sticks in my craw, but it does lol. I did the quick start with a trainer, that was a waste of time, there only goal is to sell you training. I just want to know how to use the equipment, i can barely afford this membership, but I am trying, but I was never shown things, just pushed to buy a training package. I just wish that my membership allowed more assistance vs. just access to the business. so, i hope you can see why i gave 4 not 5, it's just how it works for me. I tell people all the time about it, and overall I think it is a great gym, space to workout.
