I never though my heart rate could increase while weight training but I'm in the fat burning zone most of the time. Lastly what makes this gym awesome is the saunas! I belonged to a different gym that closed late summer and I was looking for a place that would push me. I didn't even know what Crossfit was. But co-owner, Kelly, really impressed me with her intelligent questions about my health history, and Ioved how many women coaches there were at the gym, and felt the place had a great, down to earth vibe. I now attend weekday at 6:30 a.m. classes religiously and usually go to a class on the weekends. They will scale to your level and encourage you at the same time. I also thought I ate well (no flour, no sugar, and no alcohol), but I am working with co-owner Jared on my nutrition and upping my energy level and mental clarity. I appreciate the inspiration of those around me who can lift hundreds of lbs and do muscle ups, while I am working my training bar. Hey, it takes a village! IE Fitness is simply the best gym around!…read more A little back story--I was the girl in High School who would intentionally forget her gym clothes because I hated "working out" or doing anything physical. Since High School I have joined gyms to "workout" would start going and then just stop--wasted money on personal trainers to just make excuse after excuse of why I can't continue to go. The Wheaton location is somewhat hidden among us surrounding stores, but it's easy enough to find. Upon arrival, door access is controlled through a mobile apps so since I wasn't registered yet, one of the staff members kindly let me in. We went through a brief questionnaire discussing why I was interested in joining and what fitness goals. I was hoping to achieve this year. I was then given a tour of the facility and led to my scheduled class, which was hot yoga. Each class takes place in its own sauna, designed to accommodate about 2 to 3 people at a time. The workout itself is guided through a screen inside the sauna,which I personally did not enjoy. Classes like yoga, Pilates, it can be challenging to follow independently, and I value having an instructor present to demonstrate proper form and correct posture when needed. That hands-on guidance makes a big difference for me.. HOTWORX offers two membership packages. The highest one right now it's $80 unlimited classes at home and in person, that includes a small weight machine area in the back, you have to purchase their supplies such as their towel, mat, and one other item. It also includes an app to use on your phone to count your calories, food intake and all that great stuff. Overall, the staff was welcoming, friendly, professional, but the concept just wasn't the right fit for me. Also, if you ever plan to take a free trial, make sure to wear almost nothing and take a ton of water with you and a towel because you will sweat and be hot!!!

I finally went in and the person that he partnered with me wasn't available to meet my on the time I was available after I specifically told owner that I was from Chicago and needed a later time because of my work schedule! The owner didn't call me until a few days later but by than I was completed annoyed that I had paid and he didn't care to call me. The facility is clean, bright, has the necessary equipment, and filled with very friendly people. I think it was a mixture of people from the Park district, the Fire Department, students from a nearby medical and professional school, and maybe even Albertsons employees working. It was a well greased machine. I did not wait in any line at any time, I just moved from station to station. If I had been a resident of Lombard they were giving a one day pass to try out the facility. In the waiting area, after the vaccine had been administered, there were Park District employees there to sanitize the chair you had just vacated. Hand sanitizer was every where you looked. I could not be more pleased that I was able to snag an appointment at this clinic.
