I recently moved from Denver, CO and joined Charlotte Athletic Club primarily for the location and…read morewalkability to Uptown. From signup through cancellation, the experience was consistently poor. The signup process was unnecessarily difficult. You cannot sign up online or over the phone and must come in person. I arrived during hours I was told a manager would be present, only to find they had left early, requiring an additional visit to complete enrollment. The gym charges $150 per month per person, with additional costs for lockers, an extra month (extra $150) due on signup, and a facility improvement fee every six months. Despite the price, there is no coat rack or place to store even a jacket. Communication is "you must pay an extra amount for lockers each month" even though lockers are framed as an optional amenity. Charging for lockers in the first place is grubby. Every gym I've attended in the past includes them for free. Pool access is advertised. The pool is actually pool access passes included in membership to the Omni Hotel pool, we were told it was to be opened fall 2025, it has remained closed. This was communicated after signup. The equipment itself is fine, but there is no water bottle refill station, and the water available specifically says "don't fill your water bottle up". It's a gym. Who wants to use a small paper open top cup when working out. Bathrooms are often not clean. If you're coming in in the afternoon for workouts, the gym maintenance and cleaning happens then, so expect some vacuuming and hammering happening most days. But my primary issue is the staff experience relative to the price point. Front desk staff are often disengaged. A trainer instructed us to re rack weights that we didn't use. When we told him they were there before we used the machine he communicated "clean them up anyways". I rack weights when done using them. For $150 a month, if another gym member leaves weights behind, and this is noticed by the staff, I'd expect gym staff to care for the cleanup of other members weights left behind. And especially the first time, just unnecessarily hostile and unfriendly. There are many more similar interactions like this with staff. After I canceled my membership and requested my wife's remain active, a manager approached her requesting credit card information, the implication being "don't forget to pay" in a way that felt inappropriate. This is acceptable at a lower priced gym. Again, it's not what I expect at this price point. This is a premium priced gym with a good location and adequate equipment, but the service level does not match. I'm switching to another gym in the area.

Curious as to why there's a lack of transparency on the membership rates not posted in the website…read more Instead they want you to fill out a contact form.... Enter Fitness Together. I appreciate the private workout stalls so much so no one can see each other and that I can workout truly in an individual setting. The coaches tailor each workout to my level keeping in mind any injuries (I have a weak psoas on one side) so they adapt the workout specifically for me. Everyone has been super friendly and the nutrition coaching even is adapting to my weird dietary stuff (I bet they hate working around GF, DF and low FODMAP). I really appreciate my time there and look forward to it every week which has decreased my stress level! The accountability is key to get me there- the online programs with Daily Burn and Peloton just don't cut it when I'm stressed and busy so I have to have it on the calendar so I don't flake on someone. :)

The one on one care you receive at FT is just one of the things I love about them. The trainers I've worked with are all knowledgeable and change each workout so that it doesn't get boring. They also know when yo push or back off which I appreciate. The owners - Sarah and Scott - have been great at getting me scheduled and being flexible when life happens. I highly recommend giving this location a shot. You have nothing to lose!

From the moment I walked in and went to the front desk my experience was top tier. Carol was there to greet me and check me in. She was extremely kind and helpful. She asked if this was my first time and she was amazing from the very beginning. She gave me a lot of great info before the class and essentially broke everything down so I understood what to do and what to expect. The best part was Carol continuously helping me throughout the workout. It's been a very long time since I've worked out in a gym and I genuinely appreciated her so much!!! The class itself is a HIIT circuit training type class. You rotate from station to station and do different workouts. The music is loud, but not too loud, and is always a great playlist. Just how I like it lol. I love that you can go from kettlebell workouts to body weight workouts to boxing and so much more. It's a very non traditional type of workout and that's great because it's always different. There's also a great gym community. Other people in the classes are always friendly and helpful. It's really just a great gym community all around! Very happy I discovered them and really enjoy working out here!!!

I did not know what to expect, but they definitely made you WORK! You start off by doing a couple of warm-ups, and then the coach takes you around to different stations and demonstrates your workout in each station. Then you go off and start at whatever station you want and from there you go and take turns in between each station. I love that it's a total HIT lift workout. You do everything from weights, boxing, bicycles, and regular running. Completely loved the circuit vibes from it and the coach. I believe his name was Trey. He was AWESOME! he made sure to come and show you the correct way of doing the workout and just keeping the energy going. From the music, so the instruction. This is located in Noda, and they have a few parking spaces in the front but as well as parking lot towards the back of the building. Definitely enjoyed my time here.

The instructors are great, the workout is hard, but what makes it so hard to love this place is the owner. Instead of caring about his members and their enjoyment of the gym, all he focuses his time on is scamming his high-paying members on late charges. So if I add myself to a waitlist, and someone drops out at midnight, and now I've made other plans - thinking I can't get in this class - he CHARGES YOU! Get this, you're next in line... you actually go and fill the spot, HE STILL CHARGES ME! #MoneyGrab The owner's waitlist policy is disgusting, it's cheap and it's disgraceful. I've contacted my credit card company and the BBB as this is the 3rd time I've attempted to reason with him on this fraud. He couldn't care less and enjoying milking his members for all their worth. $22 is charged to you if you're on a waitlist and even say NO I can no longer attempt! I stopped by recently because it was convenient and brought a guest with me. Before doing anything, I asked the woman at the front desk how the guest policy worked. She didn't really explain it and instead just asked for my guest's information. I assumed she was simply checking the system to see if my guest had visited before. I stepped away for a moment to check whether the court was crowded, and while doing that, something came up that required me to leave earlier than expected. When I came back to the desk, I told her never mind and that I needed to leave. She responded, "It's okay, I sent the receipt to your email." That caught me off guard. I assumed it was just confirmation of entering my guest's information, especially since I thought guests used to be free (which is why I asked about the policy beforehand). When I checked my email, I saw that I had been charged $20. The issue isn't the money, it's the lack of communication. Before charging someone, the process and cost should be clearly explained. I've never had issues at the other locations I visit, so this felt like a one off experience, but it's enough that I probably won't return to this location.
