    5:30 AM class party!
    Debi F.

Joining this CrossFit box was one of the best decisions I've made for my well being! The hour I'm there serves as my "me" time and helps me push through the stress of my days at work and home with 3 kids. My husband joins me daily and we are both loving getting stronger. It has helped to further unite us and strengthen us as we raise our challenging kids. This is a place that is doing a beautiful job of allowing me to scale movements to what I'm capable of right now while simultaneously encouraging/pushing me to improve and advance to more challenging versions. I love the group class environment where I can benefit from the technique support from a coach along with being cheered on by teammates. There is something so special about going through a workout together - a camaraderie develops when completing something challenging alongside friends. I came to this gym after being at an awesome Bootcamp where I was one of the strongest women. Initially I was disappointed that I am no longer one of the strongest but now I really am thankful to be somewhere with such potential for growth. The coaching is fantastic! I can see that each coach has a love of fitness and a desire to share that passion with others. I always feel encouraged in a positive loving way and see genuine joy when I've accomplished something new or even just shown up.

I don't think free floating fiberglass is good for the lungs. The J cups that hold barbells in the squat racks are missing screws and constantly coming loose. Maintenance/staff that are normally seen servicing equipment said "they'll take a look at it". It's been on-going for over a year. They make rules like "no tripods allowed", and then you watch staff walk by people using them and say nothing. The general vibe is also just worse than before. People slamming cabled weights just to make noise, thick smells of perfume/body spray, new soap dispensers / quality of hand soap is garbage.. There used to be no phone calls allowed on the gym floor. Now people are on a call throughout their whole workout with no consideration. Very unfortunate as this place use to feel top-notch.

I chose City Sports due to 24 completely going down hill since I used to be with them a decade ago, and Planet Fitness doesn't have a pool. As a swimmer, this is my main form of cardio. Nate was wonderful helping me sign up and answering all of my questions I had. He's excellent with his customer service and making the customer feel heard. With my signing up, I was given a free personal training assessment and trial. Kiran was knowledgeable and impressed with my strength. At the end of the session, I was sat down with Alan, who I am assuming is the personal trainer manager. As somebody who used to sell 30+ cars a month when I was in car sales, I know the first thing about sales is to listen to the customer. Repeatedly, I was cut off from saying anything to Alan about my background, what I wanted and what I needed if I wanted to consider personal training. I barely was able to think about an answer to a question he would ask. I also recognized the typical car sales tactic of, "Which price works best for you?" I still decided to hear him out and see if this aligned with me financially. The prices are quite high, so I apologized as I felt like I was wasting his time then and I understood what it was like being on his side of the desk. He stopped smiling at me and started shuffling the papers. No, "Thank you," "Let me know if anything changes," etc, nothing. Just complete silence and an obvious look of annoyed rejection. I was a bit confused so I said, "Um..." and he dismissed me with a cold, "You're free to go now." I asked if I could take the paper with me with the rates on it and he said I could take a picture of it. Classic car sales maneuver! But this is for personal training, which should be more insistent on the customers needs due to their health. My experience with Alan has ensured I definitely won't be signing up for a personal trainer in the future, probably at any location with City Sports. Overall, the gym is pretty clean and the machines are in working order. The pool is VERY clean as well, which is surprisingly hard to come by in most gyms nowadays. I don't get service inside though and even with the WiFi, I still can't connect to YouTube to do mat Pilates in the aerobics room :( TLDR; Nate is great, Alan needs some training on his customer service and learn how to be a better sales person. Gym is clean but needs help with cell service/WiFi.

Most of the staff are pleasant, especially the front desk team. They greet you when you walk in, which makes me feel welcome. That's such a nice way to start the day. I wish this place is 24/7 but they open at 6AM on the weekend and it's never packed to the point where you have to wait, so it's a win-win. Service is impeccable. I love their protein smoothie bar. I have tried their recovery zone and can say I had a relaxing time getting my back and legs massaged while I read my book. It was dim and quiet, but I was by myself. Someone did go into the room to use the massage gun for a few then left. As part of my 2026 goal, I am trying to claw my way back to my old self. I will prioritize my health this year, so I will stop by the recovery room often to unwind in the quiet. One thing I noticed is that you are not supposed to film here but I still see people setting up their tripod and/or flat out filming themselves and their clients which is somewhat annoying, but other than that I have had no complaints here.

My main issue with this facility is a specific group of members that have started to come in. There is a large group of people who come in to work with a husband/wife team of independent trainers. The trainers are rude and take up tons of equipment that they do not actively use- like they are trying to reserve it for their future use. When you ask them if you can work in or if they are using something they are rude and look at you like you are insane for even talking to them. This group of people act like they are the only people in the gym and completely lack awareness and any etiquette. They leave weights on machines, don't wipe anything down, and leave huge messes in the restrooms. My other issue is the amount of recording that they do- the gym has now banned the use of free standing tripods (great) but now they are using other pieces of equipment to prop their phones up on and record their workouts. On top of that- there is no regard or awareness for someone in the back of their video. I know that I have been in the back of their recordings, which I do not want to be, and have asked them multiple times to move their phones or not record and they are just rude about it and start talking crap. I have taken these issues to the front desk staff and management. No one does anything about it. I brought it up to the girl at the front desk this past weekend and she basically told me that because they are bringing in so much business they can do what they want. If that is the case then this business clearly does not value all of its members equally.
