Working out in…read moreone form or another has always been part of my routine, and I have always been fascinated by nutrition and habitually have tried my best to continuously learn as much as I can. I looked around and contacted several different trainers, Jeff responded before anyone else. Although I looked at a few others, I picked Jeff because I just liked him. It was an excellent choice. He is dedicated, he knows so much about wellness and more importantly he is always learning. I can ask anything about nutrition, lifestyle or training and if he needs more information, he finds out and then shares with me. The thing that matters most is that here I am, four months past my big day and I still train with Jeff. I am also so happy to say that my husband was so impressed with what he saw and with what I told him, that he now trains with Jeff too. I have been so impressed with the way in which Jeff has modified everything to meet my husband where he is. A very different place than where I ever was, and the results are already visible. You get a different HIIT type workout per class you choose. A few of the classes are stretch classes but even those will feel like an intense workout for me. You may get to use plates, a battle rope, the usual weights, jump rope, a mini "track" where you bend down and get back up running back and forth, and semi-gym bike you must balance yourself on. Visiting many fitness centers including this one has helped me appreciate what is here more. My body acted weird with the 12 workouts I had here as I surprisingly never lost weight except for one time when I had 2 workouts on a Thursday and a Saturday, I temporarily suddenly lost 9 lbs. I couldn't do workouts harder than I did as I would get dizzy and I have been checked for these physical reactions already and I am thankfully fine. My stamina rebuilding has been real slow. I do wish there was some short breaks planned because I get worn out and start to hate exercise with the constant pressure to move. Every gym and almost every trainer I have been with has been like this though. You have to try to pace yourself completely :( This is a good place for getting a quality workout for your money's worth.

The model let's everyone pace themselves, but there's a lot of encouragement and concentration on form. This has worked well for me. They handle the pandemic better than some other gyms with temperate checks, making sure the lockers are sanitized if used, and letting us sanitize the equipment and then them sanitizing after everyone leaves as well. Everyone is spaced out every three stations, so they only have 1/3 of what they could normally have. For working out and possibly doing stretches, I like this more. It makes me feel more comfortable. Ultimately, though, I want to use up all the rest of my sessions and then transition to personal training presently.

The hot tub exterior walls were removed so it's all open to the pool area now (for safety). Inner walls were constructed so the hot tub isn't part of the locker room/ shower area anymore. Bathing suit is required for the hot tubs. No more towels, you have to bring your own. The gym is more stripped down and basic feeling since the Y took over. No more broken water fountains, clogged sinks, gross showers. A lot less tvs on the cardio floor. The best thing about this Y is the open space. It never feels crowded anymore. I recently went to Paoli and their cardio floor is so packed and tight. Indoor track is still amazing as the 90s. 5 laps is a mile, it's the biggest indoor track I've ever seen. No one looks where they are going. That is my biggest annoyance. Teens walking with their faces buried in their phones.

I am a single mom of two young boys and I was trying to adjust to my new life where I was gaining weight and smoking. I was so disgusted with myself because I lacked energy, confidence and strength mentally, physically and spiritually. I was 5'1 and weighing 150 lbs and moving into a size 10. I learned about John's Fitness Train through a friend. At first, I was nervous I wouldn't be able to afford it or keep up with my career and being a mom. John worked with my schedule and immediately I started to see results. I started to gain control of my life. John is an excellent motivator and role model. All the categories in my life where I felt weak and disgusted, he is the exact opposite. I swear my training sessions turned into therapy. During my first visit a few days prior, I was informed that while my current membership does not include Signature Club access, I could pay a $10 guest fee per visit. I agreed to this and was happy to return, as I truly enjoyed the facility and felt it was worth the additional drive and cost. However, upon arriving for my visit on April 14, I was informed that the club does not accept Apple Pay or any form of phone payment, and that I was required to have a physical credit card. This requirement had never been communicated to me previously. I asked if there could be any accommodation given the circumstances--such as billing my account or waiving the fee for this one visit since I had already made the 30-minute drive and was unaware of the payment limitation. Unfortunately, the General Manager was dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly quite rude. His tone and demeanor made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. When I asked for his name, he told me "Sean," which I later discovered was not his real name. I have since learned his name is Shehryar Siddiqui. I found this particularly troubling, as it reflects a lack of accountability and professionalism. This experience was especially upsetting for me. I am a full-time caregiver for my mother, and it takes considerable effort for me to arrange the time to travel to this location. I arrived looking forward to something positive for myself, only to be treated in a way that left me feeling embarrassed and emotionally distressed. I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness since my time at Bally Total Fitness in King of Prussia nearly 28 years ago, and I have never experienced this level of disrespect at any of your facilities. Due to this interaction, I no longer feel comfortable returning to this location. I believe this situation warrants attention, as no member should be treated this way.
