That's when Victor Crossfit came in. I had been trying to find a small gym with a focus on group workout (think boot camp style) for a few months before I saw an ad to try Victor Crossfit for 3 weeks at a reduced price. I figured minimal investment of time and money, so if I didn't like it, I wouldn't be locked into a long membership. That was in March, and now entering October, I still go weekly. Lance, Chelsea, Megan, and, Caitlin have creative an environment where you want to go in and work hard. Everyone is super supportive of each other, and the workout, at any level, will push you. The coaches always have scaled versions of a workout so that people will get a great sweat on no matter if they've been coming for 10 years or 1 week. I was never a fan of weights or developing huge muscles but seeing myself improve over time and get stronger, I wanted to keep pushing myself to get to the next weight. You'll feel this way too! The coaches don't force you to use higher weights but they will challenge you to push harder when they see you're going to easy. It's encouraging! I can't recommend this place enough!

It won't be long before you start seeing positive results, get stronger, and make some friends who all want to support and encourage you to get better along the way. CrossFit can be intimidating and often the people doing CrossFit can be even more so. This is a box where you dont have to worry about that. People check their egos at the door here. Coaches are great. They push you but don't overdo it. I came in 6 months ago at 255 lbs, herniated discs in my back, and doctors telling me I'd never lift weights over my head again. I've had to check my own ego, go wicked slow, and just keep showing up. Often the weights I do are well below the prescribed workout but I've gotten stronger and better and proven the doctors wrong. It's all about just showing up and getting a great workout. I'd highly recommend just making the call, and changing your life for the better. All you have to do is show up. Funny thing is that after a few weeks you really start to crave going. It gets addictive!

Colins gym is private, the clientele are polite and respectful of the gym and each other. I can not recommend this place enough. If you want quality machines, a clean/ quiet space look no farther. While visiting from the DC 5 came here with my father-in-law to work out (I make a point to work…read moreout at least 3x a week-- no exceptions for vacations), The gym is well- apportioned and clean with a good variety of cardio and weight machines, dumbbells, a power cage, benches, trap bar for dead lifts, and just about anything you might need. The best things about the gym, though, are the owners and the atmosphere. I got to know Colin, and it's clear he cares for his customers. He's happy to answer questions and get you started and charges reasonable rates for personal training to help you customize a routine. I only briefly met his wife, but it was clear from observing her with clients that she shares her husband's passion for fitness and helping and encouraging others to meet their goals. They maintain a supportive, non- competitive atmosphere where you can progress at your own rate. I went in the mornings around 0830--a time when the gyms back home are usually fairly crowded. Since it's open 24 hours, people can space out their times and go when it's convenient for them, not just when their free time matches gym hours. While there were always people there, it never felt overcrowded; I only had to wait for the power cage once for maybe 10 minutes to do squats, which was fine, since there was plenty else to keep my leg day occupied until I could hop in. They also accept many different insurance plans. All in all, it's a fantastic gym. If you're out this way, I highly recommend checking it out. I really like RuckHouse…read more If you're looking for a full body workout (and really, we all should be), head over for a class. It's a circuit training/HIIT style workout, where you roll around the studio and run through a series of different exercises designed to get your whole body moving and sweating and just in better overall shape. There's some work on machines (ski, treadmill, bike, etc.), weights, bodyweight exercises, and more. If you've ever done F45 or something similar, it's not far off, but it's a cool local shop with personable coaches in a clean environment with surprisingly nice facilities and even products in the bathroom for when you're through. Everyone we spoke with from the front desk to the trainers leading the session to the other folks working out seemed cool, and we'll definitely be back when we're in town. Like most workouts (and many other things in life), you get out what you put in. Meaning, if you come in ready to see what your body can do, you'll get a great sweat on. They have a shirt for sale that says, "But did you die?" And I like that. Bring your own towel.
