I have been going to this gym for 6 months now. It's an incredibly nice group of people. As long as you know your limits, it's an incredible program to get back into or maintain your shape. CrossFit gets plenty of press about injuries, etc. My response is don't push yourself being what you are capable of. Don't do an exercise if you are prone to injury or don't feel comfortable with it. At this gym, no one pushes you to do anything you don't want to. In one session, I pushed myself to do sprints. The end result was I was unable to work out for 2 weeks. I take responsibility for making a stupid decision. I have not made that mistake again. I have knee issues, so I cannot run. They are very accommodating. If there is an exercise I am concerned about, I ask for an alternative; which can be rowing or a stationary bike, etc. The instructor knows me now, of course. If she thinks I can do it, she'll ask me to try. Maureen, the usual instructor, is great. She keeps the workout moving, is very cheerful and is always engaged with the class. She's great! This location is not convenient for me, but Maureen is worth the trip. I highly recommend CrossFit and this gym in particular.

The sole thing I cared about was rebuilding my atrophied leg, a symptom of extensive knee construction that had turned my quad, hamstring and calve into shadows of their original selves. I couldn't kneel, squat, lunge or even sit for prolonged periods of time without pain. Christina and Drew were thoughtful in their approach (which I now know is just how they operate). I think that they knew my goals would blossom as I felt more control over my knee recovery, and that's exactly what happened. Every week, we saw little gains and I found myself asking bigger questions, not just about my knee but about diet, mental health, routine, self-image, and mindfulness. Now, 15 months later, I feel physically strong. I feel disciplined and capable. I feel like I can trust myself to take good care of my body and brain. So I decide to go and show the kid how to keep his hands from dropping and the trainer came to me and wanted me to get out because I was showing the kid the correct way so he won't develop a bad habit.
