We ordered the crossing burger, tomato vegetable soup and poutine and a drink. Total came out to around $64 CAD. I can't believe they charge $27 for a burger with fries. This place is steep, but they are the only food source for a long while. The burger was actually pretty good. It was juicy and a good size. The fries were really good. Crispy and creamy in the middle. The tomato veggie soup was also good. However, the poutine could have been a little bit better. The cheese curd was nice and bouncy, the gravy on the other hand, had too much corn starch in it. It had a weird texture and taste to it.

The "bar" sign posted outside may be referring to the one located inside the adjoining Mt. Wilson Restaurant (closed during our visit), but we did find 12oz bottles of Canadian domestic delights in the fridge near the cash register. In terms of food, the options were quite unexciting and come at a premium because what competition do they have? We ordered a fairly salty tray of Traditional Poutine because we had that "when in Canada" mindset. They keep the tables rather clean and AC was running very strong. The beers were cold and we appreciated the cool down sessions after temperatures picked up for the day.

The plate featured two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, sourdough toast with blackberry jam, crispy potatoes, and the best bacon I've ever tasted. The fruit bowl was just as fresh and vibrant, with oranges, Granny Smith apples, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding; an ideal way to start the day in the mountains.

The specialize in wood-fired dishes, so we made sure to lean into those options. We all sampled an appetizer order of grilled eggplant spears covered in olive oil and a sprinkle of cheese. Delish! My wife and I love wood-fired pizzas, so we went with the rotisseries chicken pie for our main (to share). It came piping hot, topped with rotisserie chicken chunks, chorizo, red onion slices, mushrooms, a cream sauce base and a chipotle ranch drizzle. Perfecto! They are also well known for their actual rotisserie chicken dish...but we'll have to save that for the next time.
