There's a more popular restaurant literally right across the street, but based off the wait, we opted to try out The Siding Cafe. They had vegan and vegetarian options and they also had a small outside seating area. ordered the Tofu Buddha Bowl and it exceeded my expectations. For the past week, I've settled with subpar food because of the lack of options, but the Buddha Bowl was more than satisfactory. Good service, quaint little shopping options inside and it also doubles as a beer/wine store! Great stop.

One of few places to eat out in Field. We were going to go to Truffle Pig but the line was too long. The food here was very delicious and there was no line!

Hands down the best veg burger I have ever had! I'm allergic to mushrooms and most places have a premade veg patty with mushrooms, but Siding Cafe makes it with oats and its handmade!

    Buddha bowl with tofu

BEST BUDDHA BOWL EVER I ordered the Buddha bowl with tofu and I've been craving it ever since. The service is good and there is a gift shop in the same building. It has a great view of the trains when you walk outside as well.

This was a pleasant surprise on the way back from Emerald Lake. Probably the most casual eatery in town with a simple but quite interesting menu of sandwiches, soups, and rice and noodle bowls. Everything we ordered was super fresh and delicious. Charming shop inside and people were in and out grabbing some sandwiches to go or picking up beer, so it's a bit of a corner store mixed in with a tourism shop mixed in with a road stop cafe. Worth a visit.

Simply the best Café in the Rocky Mountains. We never imagined that we would find such a place in this remote area. The food was great, the employees were friendly and the calm, relaxed atmosphere was just amazing! Hoping to come back soon. PS: Still enjoying my great Americano ;-)

    The Egger

Great breakfast and friendly services! Order at counter and they bring food and they drinks out to you. The self serve water had fresh lemon and mint to flavour it. We ordered the The Egger and The Heavenly. It was a Weekday and it was fairly busy but everything came out hot, fresh and delicious! If it's nice out sit on the patio, great mountain views!

If you're not alert when looking for it you might miss it. I know I did. The sign outside saying "liquor store" threw me off. "Siding" is a railroad industry term, as in a side rail that deviates from the main railroad track. Yup the railroad tracks do go through town. This is a small mom and pop business that operates as a combination restaurant, coffee shop, and little gift shop. It sort of has a hippie vibe to it but after driving through Field that shouldn't be very surprising. It takes a special eclectic person to live in a small town of 169 people. Prices are a bit high but you can't really blame them because everything inside the National Park is expensive. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the lesser priced deli sandwich. No complaints there. It was great. Service was great too and provided with a smile. They can tell who's a tourist and who's a local, and it was nice to see they treated everyone exactly the same. The process is simply you order at the counter and then seat yourself. There's approximately eight tables inside surrounded by some miscellaneous trickets and clothing for sale. The inside is very clean. Sure. You bet, I'd return again.

However, I then proceeded to ask for a cup of ice and was told they don't have ice, after receiving my ICED coffee. I thought maybe it was just that they wouldn't give me a cup of ice, complementary, even though I am a paying customer, so I offered to pay for a cup of ice after spending $30 on three things, and was still told no they don't have ice(again with my iced coffee and hand) and said I could buy an entire bag of ice for five dollars or there was nothing they could do for me. Honestly, at that point, I wish you would've just said no I'm not giving you ice instead of making up an elaborate and blatantly obvious lie.

The parking lot is large but fills up fast with tourists so many park along the main road leading up to the parking lot. The food here was outstanding! Our server wasn't very friendly or welcoming. She was too busy chatting with the bartender. Our food was served warm, so at least she served our food timely. I was so impressed with my salmon filet and potato & spinach tart! They were both sooooo good, I think my husband was jealous of my menu choice. He had the crispy fried oyster mushrooms burger with their soup of the day, chickpea marsala. He said his was good, but he was not overwhelmed like I was. We ordered the molten cake for dessert. My oh my, was it delicious! So dense and quality dark chocolate...yum! It was accompanied with vanilla bean ice cream with a melted chocolate on top that made a hard shell, strawberry slices and a s'more on a stick. Soooo frickin good! Compliments to the chef! Never imagined I'd be served such amazing cuisine at a lake Lodge. Overall I would definitely be back to eat their food, but servers could take a lesson in hospitality.

When we arrived, the server told us we could sit anywhere. After sitting down, we waited quite a while before our server came back, which was surprising since there were only a few tables occupied. We eventually ordered the salmon fillet. We also wanted to order drinks, but our server never returned, so I had to go up to the bar to order instead. That said, the salmon fillet was actually really good and definitely the highlight of the meal. I just wish they had more food options, as the menu is pretty limited.

They even took the time to get me gluten-free bread to eat with the beat hummus since I couldn't eat whatever bread that is served with it For me, it's important that since they already have gluten-free products that they could just substitute it that way so I could enjoy my meal and not get sick I found them to be exceptionally accommodating for me Everything was delicious I like the fire pit outside good place to wait for your table to open I like that they take your cell phone number and you can walk around and they'll text you when your table is ready so this way you don't feel like you're wasting any time My nephew got the duck that was delicious my sister got the steak sirloin. It was also delicious and had little tiny mini salt crystals on it which gave it a lot of flavor. My only slight disappointment was the choice of background music. It had too much of a 12345678 up beat to it. When they play music with this kind of a tempo, you can definitely see all of the waiters and waitresses walking to the beat of the music, but I think it also rushes people in eating and digestion. It makes people hurry up because you could literally see people chewing to the beat of the music I don't even know if the Restaurant realizes the psychology behind the choice of music But overall, I enjoyed everything I came there to eat and everything tasted good for me. I just would've had a different choice to music preference

We loved the live music and the romantic feel. They have an amazing wine list (more like a novel). Service: Perfect! Our waters were consistently filled, and timing was nice. We liked how we weren't rushed between courses. Food: We had Hamachi as an appetizer. I asked where it was sourced and was surprised that neither the waiter nor chef knew the answer. For main course, I had the rack of lamb, my favorite. My husband had the bison tenderloin. Both were good. Not great. Both dishes were drowned in sauce. The sauce was way too salty to cover the entire plate. The food should always be the star and the sauce as a complement. One quarter of the sauce along the side would improve both meals. Last, we had some version of Tiramisu. It was very dry. The waiter was kind and took it off our bill. Would we return? Yes. We were happy with our meals (for the most part) and felt the cozy dining experience was lovely.
