She's the sweetest Korean lady and always is happy to see me :) she always asks about where I get my pants from and I tell her how my friends make all my clothes LOL! I've taken everything from jeans to alo yoga pants for alterations. Shin has done a great job each time and her prices are the best. I'd give this a 4.5, but overall I am pleased. I had been holding out on getting some of my items tailored/altered since I travel to California often, but with sheltering in place for over a year, I decided it was worth the extra dollars to just get.it.done. The auntie there is very conscientious. There is a changing room, and she helped me adjust an old yoga top/sports bra which had straps that were have long been too loose for me, and asked me several times how it felt. I also brought in a sheer blouse I bought at Savers which had been altered to be slimmer. I was hoping to let it out. Even though I was bringing her business, she recommended that I leave it alone, since it had been tailored with an eye toward fashion. I also asked her to tailor two face/neck gaiters and a swimsuit bottom that was way too large. I found prices varied from what I would have expected based on difficulty, but it all evens out in the end. Service took a few days, but I wasn't in any rush. read more

A small gem of a family shop that does awesome alternations! Such a sweet staff that makes you feel welcomed. I had a dress that needed to be hemmed in a matter of 2 days and she was able to do it! It wasn't anything crazy but she did such a great job and worked in my wild time frame. The cost was very reasonable- for my simple dress it was $36. You cannot go wrong with this price. My dress was easy but even more complex dresses should be able to be modified within a week or two! 10/10 would recommend. There is parking however it is tight and not always available... that's a bummer- just call in advance and they should be able to tell you if there's a space open. The shop is on the ground floor in the left corner- tucked away. The actual building is behind the 7-11 and fedex building headed towards the mountain. The whole time being scolded or told this is the way the dress was suppose to be when clearly it wasn't. I'll spare you the other unprofessional details. I'm so sad how that my dress was ruined. This is that little shop that you always pass by on the way to Sam's Club next to some random pet shop. I heard about this place from a friend that usually has really, really great taste in fashion and everything else in life, but for once she has steered me in the wrong direction. Crossroad Fashions does alterations and hems jeans for cheap (about $5) but you really do get what you pay for. I have taken jeans there twice to be hemmed and both times they were scrambling around turning their store inside-out trying to find my jeans. They have no numbering system and sometimes lose the copy of the receipt that they pin to the garment that says that its yours. So if you have expensive jeans...or any article of clothing for that matter, don't bring them here. They will disappear! So let me tell you about my horror story... I go to CF to fit and drop off my jeans to be hemmed. They tell me they're busy and it'll take about a week. I was thinking that's fine because it wasn't a rush. I return a week later to pick up my jeans. As noted before, they can't find it. It took them about 15 minutes to realize that my jeans are on the sewing machine, not hemmed yet. They tell me it'll take 5 minutes. They rush it and then not even after one wash, the threads are coming loose. I don't even trust them enough to take it back to have them fix their mistake. From now on I'm going to Angel Tailor. It costs more there, but customer service and precision is spot on. I wish I could give 0 stars, but am forced to give it 1. read more

This is my go to alterations place in the Honolulu area. It is reasonably priced and they always do a great job. I took a bridesmaid dress a few years back which they took in, hemmed, and shortened the straps. Recently I also took a skirt and dress to get hemmed. The skirt was made of lace with detail on the trim and they made sure to save the detail. They even altered my wedding veil for me! They can really do anything and they are quick. Tucked away on the LEFT SIDE side of South Street right before Kawaiahao Street is this tiny alteration shop. It's easy to miss if you drive too fast past it. Just stay to the left and slow down as you approach Kawaiahao Street. Remember, this part of South Street is a one way street going toward the mountain. The shop is on the bottom left of a small 2-story building. In front, there are a few parking spaces. This little shop is a 1-woman show with an assistant that helps customers with payment, drop-offs, pick-ups, etc. I found this little shop when I needed to hem my wedding dress. Ms. Shin was super helpful in determining the length I needed for the dress. It's best to wear your heels/shoes when hemming a long dress. I didn't have my shoes that day when I took my dress in but it's all good. I just winged it by standing on my tiptoes. LOL Ms. Shin pinned the dress and I was lucky that I had shoes that were the right height after the dress was hemmed. I was very happy that I was able to pick up my dress in 2 days. I told her I needed the dress back right away and she said next day pick-up would be an extra charge but for a 2-day return, it's free. Hooray, I picked up the dress in 2 days which was perfect. Ms. Shin hemmed the 3-layer dress perfectly. I even sent my bride's maid there to hem her dress. I was quoted $10 for the hem but somehow my bride's maid was charged double for the hem. Oh well. I'm not tall enough or my arms aren't long enough for off the rack clothes so I usually need to get it tailored to fit. Usually the store will take care of it by sending the article of clothing to their vendor for a fee. One day after a purchase, I told my salesperson I needed a button up shirt ready for an event by a certain date. She told me no problem and to come back the day I needed it so I did. It wasn't at the store when I came back! Luckily they use someone local and they said I can go directly to their vendor to pick it up since I was in a rush. This is how I discovered Fashion Crossroad. Shin had it ready when I arrived and it was a perfect fit when I tried it on. Since it was already paid for, I was just gonna leave to my event but the Chinese in me had to ask how much it cost to tailor there directly. The quote I received was significantly less than what the store charged me! Understandable since the store has to make money too but from then on, I went directly here with clothes I needed to alter. Gotta save money somewhere. Over the years, Shin has altered clothes for me from very expensive articles of clothing to some not so costly. No matter the price of the item, they have done a great job where the final fit was perfect and completed within the time frame quoted. Random requests about altering a certain dress or jacket was always delivered by Shin. And her shop is comfortable, with two changing rooms in the back. I've brought in my work uniforms, formal dresses, pants, even a dress cut too low in the front. She listened to what I wanted altered for each item and she returned them to me with 100% satisfaction. Her prices are well below my former seamstress.' Simple hem was $10, taking-in dress was $15. Shin is sweet and easy to work with. I'm so happy I found her! Fashion Crossroad is located on South Street (near the old World or Gold's Gym?), a little up from 7-11 and on the left side of the street. There's about 10 stalls in the front of the building and she will let you know which ones can be used. The store is closed on Sundays, open the rest of the week. I've been a customer here for years. I often have them cut jeans to make shorts for me, do simple hems, tailor items to fit me better. They get my business repeatedly mostly for cost and convenience. Most hems are $5-$10 at most. My daughter is ridiculously tiny and even buying size 0 often needs alterations for her. I've taken every prom dress to them for tailoring to her height and tiny little body--and even to adjust the dress to cover up more skin. Recently, for my wedding, I took all 3 bridesmaid dresses here for tailoring because I ordered them all big...just in case. I spent about $30 per dress to have them taken in and hemmed up...a really low price for a big job. I would have taken my wedding gown here as well if the alterations costs weren't already built in to the price of my gown. I trust these ladies completely with all my alterations. The shop is small and not the cleanest or most organized place, but I've never had any problems with them finding my items of doing a poor job. I've worked in retail for many years and I know many stores have their uniforms altered right here. Quality is top notch and the service is pretty good. The owner is there 24/7 and she is the open who greets and fits you. Sometimes there is a wait since there is such a high demand but usually she gets to you in a minute. There are two dressing rooms for convenience as well as a bathroom. Coin-operated street parking right in front of the store is almost always empty. Also, you can't argue with their prices! Amazingly low and great quality. I just dropped off: Pants- Hem ($5) 3 dresses -Straps shorten + other minor take-ins ($20) 3 tops - Straps shorten ($15) Tank top - front taken in ($10) That's 8 items for a total of $47.25. I came here because of the high Yelp rating but honestly was disappointed. Took in several pants to be hemmed, 4 pairs total, 3 to be one length, the fourth to be a bit longer. The longer pair was an inch too long and I measured the inseam after I got it home to double check. The other 3 were all longer than requested and even at that they weren't all the same length. Because they were a rayon spandex fabric one of the pairs when they pressed it was scorched to where you could see the fabric was damaged. It wasn't crisp but definitely a bit melted. I was hoping that I had found my new tailor but I'm going to take the pants elsewhere in hopes they will get the length right and not press the delicate fabric. read more

I don't know if it's proper etiquette to tell customers that your items Will be ready by a certain time on a certain day, and then when they arrive at the store, to tell them you've been busy and the items aren't done yet. Is that the norm with all tailors? It's about $15-$20 to have blazer sleeves hemmed. She doesn't do it from the top shoulder part to reserve the buttons or cuff designs either. I've had a few things hemmed in the mainland, and it was $12 to have a dress shirt hemmed, and the bodice section brought in. This place is indeed much cheaper than other places... but Macy's charges $18 per hemmed item. I bought my suits elsewhere so I couldn't have them tailored there. What she does do I'm sure is going to be much better tan what I could've done myself... so, I'd recommend this place if you don't have time sensitive pieces... read more

I take my best jeans to Crossroads for "original hem", and they always look fabulous. One pair was $7 and the other 2 were $10 each (they were a special style) which is pretty reasonable considering some places charge $15 for a pair of pants.
