The chicken tenders were out of this world--crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The mac & cheese was absolutely delicious, the potato wedges were fantastic, and the corn ribs were mind-blowing! Every single thing we tried was incredible.GET THE RANCH, so good. I also have to give a huge shoutout to Vincent at the cashier. He was amazing--friendly, welcoming, and provided fantastic customer service. People like Vincent really make the whole experience even better. If you're in Tampa and haven't tried Crossroads Chicken yet, GO! The food and service are both . I'll definitely be back!
Tried this for the first time, even though I'm not a hot chicken fan but my hubby is. When you go thru Yelp, it has a link for their website / online ordering. What I really liked about their app is that it is simple to use, no fuss. They don't have a huge menu but their options are easy to pick. I included some pics in my review. They have quite a few payment options, very convenient. Our 5:30pm order was ready as soon as 15min! When we arrived to pickup, parking was plentiful and the inside was clean. The back of the small restaurant is where the pickup counter is. We have our name and was out in 30seconds, wow, great fast service and with a smile. Now for the food review. The chicken meat portions on the sandwiches are huge, like 2 chicken breast. The breading and crispness was good, had flavor. The actual bun with slaw was a bit lack luster. The mild was a true mild as it should be, almost touching hot but not. My hubby's hot sandwich was also true to heat level... so we were both pretty glad about that. The Mac and cheese, so so cheesy! I do think that for $3 though I should have received a little more. I will say the flavor was a little on the light side though, but that cheesiness definitely was welcome to combat the hot chicken. I'd rate it a 4 outta 5. So for the hot chicken alone, magic answer to that first time visit question if we'd return?... maybe. If hubby is in the mood he said he'd come back. Hot chicken is not my thing but hubby gave his hot chicken sandwich a 3.5 so a good experience, slightly better than average. If you like hot chicken, definitely try this place!
I had 3 of the chicken tenders. They were very crunchy and with a lot of flavor. The beans I had were also really good, I love the caramelized onion flavor. The staff is always friendly there. Definitely one of my favorite place for fried chicken in this area.
Getting charged $1.50 for a tiny ramekin of ranch is crazy. Charging me $4.50 for 3 of them is even crazier. Not having any fries at 7pm during your dinner hours also a big miss. Two chicken tender meals(no drinks) after they shame you into counter service tipping is a whopping $42.24 Avoid if possible
I don't know what they mix their breading on the chicken, but it is fantastic! I got the 2 pc with Mac& cheese and they put a pickle on the chicken so if you're down with pickles I'd ask prior but the chicken is so juicy! The salty peppery breading and juicy chicken is perfect. The Mac and Cheese is the cheesiest! Reminds my of velveeta for sure but delicious! The cookie can be hit or miss it's a brown butter cookie but last time the butter was definitely overcooked but this time it was good.
Google search didn't fail. I was in the mood for hot chicken since going to Nashville a few years back. Most restaurants around have a version but lack flavor. I found crossroads and they were closed so I saved it on my yelp. Today my hubby called me at his lunch time trying to figure out what to eat and I told him about crossroads. He went and I sent him back to bring home a the hot chicken sandwich. It was huge and so delicious. Every bit had flavor. The coleslaw was so good on it as well I wish I got a side. They ran out of the corn ribs but I will try it next time. Found my spot when I need a hot chicken fix. Don't delay try it today!
This place should be at the top of every fried chicken lover's list of places to try! I've gotten takeout from here twice and it hits every time. The chicken makes it home still crispy. The corn ribs are to die for. The sides are a bit pricey but nothing I wouldn't pay for again. Will be here again and again and again.
I love Hot Chicken. I don't make it to the Brandon area very often, but had to go for work today. I had done some research on Yelp for places nearby to eat... and decided Crossroads sounds good. Kind of hard find... they have no signage visible from the road or the parking lot. But once you park and go up to the enclosed walkway, there it is! Walked in, ordered at the counter, told them to holler when it was ready since I am a little (a lot) hard of hearing. I also sat close to the counter, and saw when the cook set it out. Started to get up... but the gentleman at the counter just waved me down, and brought it to me. Good service! Sandwich was served in kind of deep box, which was not the easiest thing to get the sandwich out of without losing some of the parts and pieces. I did have to put one of the two tenders back in the bun. Also make it difficult to get a good picture for YELP, lol! I ordered HOT.. and yep, it had a nice bite. Chicken was tender and juicy, crust was crunchy, and tasty. It did not appear to have the normal spiced oil treatment that good hot chicken gets though... was not oily, greasy goodness I prefer... but probably healthier for that. Came with a bag of chips, and I had a coke with it also. Reasonable price for what you get. Service is awesome. Food is good. Hot is HOT! :)
Wow!!! Amazing flavor, crispy and juicy...and friendly staff...for a good price!! I should have eaten here months ago! I went with the crazy hot chicken sandwich and I have to say I absolutely love spice and it did not disappoint. When you can't get to Nashville for an actual Nashville hot chicken sandwich this is the next closest thing. That same sneaky heat with pepper flavor and a slight sweet finish...yum!!!
Today for lunch, I took my office for some Nashville hot chicken at Crossroads. Everyone enjoyed it. We headed over to Crossroads for lunch today. We had a hard time finding the place as it is tucked away in the corner of a place, but once inside, we knew what we were after. We all debated what level of heat were were after. I settled on hot and that was ideal for me. My coworkers ordered a mix of hot and extra hot. You can order piece of chicken, sandwiches, or tenders. They are served with chips and they have some unique sides. I went with corn ribs. After our order was placed, we grabbed a big table and the food started to come out. Everyone's food looked great and smelled spicy. We all took our first bite and there was nothing but smiles around the table. The heat from the spice was noticable, but the sweet slaw and sauce tamed it a bit. The chicken was perfectly crispy while moist inside. The sandwich was really good. The corn ribs were very unique. I think they were deep fried, coated in butter, and then dusted in parmesan cheese. I shared them with the table and again, I saw nothing but smiles. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Crossroads Hot Chicken. The food was exceptional, service was friendly, and we got in and out in good time. We all agreed that we can't wait for our next visit.

Great local business if you love hot chicken. I've been wanting to try this place out for ages, but it's so specific (only chicken!) that I usually cannot convince my family to go. But today, I decided to do a Costco run and forego their food court, and try out Crossroad Hot Chicken by myself. I ordered online before heading over. Super easy. Food was ready 5 minutes before I got there and packed up well. I got the 3 piece chicken tenders, x-hot, with a side of the greens. The tenders were more like half a chicken breast each. Huge. Very succulent chicken, not dry at all. They were crispy and very spicy. I'm part Thai. After a few bites, I was wishing that I had ordered the mac and cheese instead to help offset the spice, but I persevered. The greens were good, very smoky tasting, but they were overwhelmed by the spicy chicken, so I only recommend them if you get the mild or medium chicken. Really nice staff at the restaurant. While I got my food to go, the sitting area seemed nice and comfortable for a casual meal. read more

This gem is a bit hard to find, but so much flavor the hunt is worth it!!! They have quite a few levels of heat. I went with the chicken sandwich hot thanks to the recommendation from the cashier. I could hardly handle hot and it was only the 4th level down . I also got the potato wedges original flavor and they were the best wedges I've ever had!! The serving size is generous so I had leftovers and my son was more than happy to finish my food. He immediately told me I have to take him there. So we will definitely be back! read more
I don't know who is running this place or made the recipes but they deserve a shiny gold star. Stopped by here with my girlfriend and friends while vacationing here from Virginia. We got the tenders with hot seasoning, chicken sandwich with medium spice, wedge basket with mild, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. Every single item was made with love and seasoned perfectly and delicious. The chicken was beyond crispy and maintained the same crispiness level for over 30 minutes. Top 2 chicken places we've ever been to. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and Vincent was great to talk with and super nice. Would we go back here while on vacation? Yes, I'd probably catch a flight down here for that alone. read more

I like this new Nashville hot chicken place. The logo is two cross bone of the drum stick. It look nice. I snap a picture of myself with the real cross bone. The menu is really simple. One page menu with few word that said it all. We got two orders of two pieces dark meat fried chicken with hot and mild. It is got hot for the chicken. I did not go for the the crazy hot. The chicken has good coating outwardly. The fried technique is good to keep the chicken juicy. The chicken selection also good quality. Each come with one side. I rather they have two side. The side choices also good. We got coleslaw and the corn rib. I like the corn rib with drizzle of spice. Service is good. They explain the menu to us. read more

Ok so, if you're going here, be prepared for it to being the HEAT unless you go for the naked option. The basket is a good deal but AGAIN, the heat is no joke!! The sides are very tasty but small portions. Try the side sauces! We ordered them all and each has its own unique taste. Lemme just say, I've eaten a lot of chicken in my life. Not many places have ever stopped me in my tracks, but crossroads hot chicken? Yea, definitely the best I've had. Super flavorful, and the in house made sauces are Bangin! Vincent at the register was really helpful explaining the menu the first time I went and he's been very friendly every time since then. Great staff, great atmosphere, great food great people. What more could you ask for. I will be going here on the weekly for sure read more
I thought I had tried great fried chicken before, but this is on another level. Crossroad Hot Chicken has the best fried chicken I have ever had. I've ordered the "hot" chicken breast and wing two times now, and I'm convinced there is no other fried chicken that compares to this. The "hot" was spicier than what most restaurants would label "hot," so you should take that into consideration when ordering. My wife ordered the "mild" and she said that even that was spicy for her. If you like spicy food, "hot" may be perfect for you, although they also offer "extra hot" and "crazy hot" which I have yet to try. If you don't like spice, they offer "naked." For a side I chose the corn ribs. They are awesome and have changed the way I think about eating corn on the cob. They're a perfect side for fried chicken. I have also tried their mac salad which was good but not my favorite. Overall, if you're looking for some good fried chicken, forget about KFC or even the beloved Publix, because this place does it so much better. read more
I was very pleased. I went with the chicken sandwich as it comes with hot sauce and there house made blue cheese on the side. It was the perfect amount of heat. I do enjoy spicy food and this hit the spot. It brought some sweat to my upper lip. The flavors of the hot sause and blue cheese paired perfectly. Also had the Mac salad it it also had some great flavor. I would definitely go back. If you like really spicy food they have a sauce for you. Like I said I like spicy and the hot was perfect for me. Food was good. Mild had some kick to it not gonna lie. Talk about kickin chicken. I can't imagine how hot the hottest is. Service was good. Very small place. Not sure if I would come back because it's so far from home but it was worth a try. read more

I was really hyped to try this place out. I heard so many good things from other people, so I had to come grab a bite after work. I was sorely disappointed. I really wish I wasn't. The chicken was very tender and crunchy but my main problem was with the taste. I could not taste a single flavor over the coleslaw that the sandwich comes with. The only thing I tasted was heat, but no actual flavor. Plus, the mac and cheese I got was a premium side (+$3) and it tasted like melted American cheese slices, but that was better than the sandwich. Everyone working here was so nice that I kinda feel bad that I didn't enjoy my meal. The service was good, no hate to them at all. The interior was also decorated really cool, I enjoyed the crossroad mural they have on one side of the restaurant. read more

Loved the service, server was friendly! Noticed when we spilled our drink and immediately helped us wipe it! Food was great. Decent price this filled up our family! We were the only ones here at 5pm, but people started coming as soon as we were finishing up. read more

I stopped by Crossroad for lunch. It gave grab and go vibes but there are tables. The menu is limited and there are no substitutions. I ordered the chicken sandwich in mild and it was not spicy at all. I think I would go for hot next time. The toppings and bun complimented the tenders inside. The tenders were more in a dry rub than sauce, however the chicken was super tender and juicy. The sandwich came with a bag of chips (Lays) and I asked if I could sub mac n cheese but they said I couldn't so I ordered a side. The mac n cheese was good but mostly liquid than noodle. I came in a container slightly larger than a sauce side so I didn't think it was worth the extra charge. Overall it was yummy! read more
I was tossed between giving a 4 or 5 star review. I say that because there were just a few things that I feel should be said. The sides are definitely small for what they are charging. You do get a choice of coleslaw or macaroni salad that automatically comes with your basket of chicken. You can also substitute your free side with one of their premium sides for an extra $1. It's $3 for each additional side. The sauces are $1.50 each. It's a standard sauce container, and thankfully not as small as the ones they give you at Tijuana Flats. You can definitely ask for more sauce if you need it. They will give you more. I just thought it was odd that a choice of sauce doesn't come with the chicken strip basket, or at least it doesn't reflect that on the menu. It should automatically come with that option. Also, the meal comes in eco-friendly paper containers whether you dine in or take it to-go. This wasn't the most comfortable way to eat our meals at the restaurant. I would have expected an actual basket or even a metal tray. You know, similar to what you would get your hot chicken served on in one of the popular restaurants in Nashville. I just didn't enjoy eating my food out of a box. Sorry, I just had to get all of my gripes out of the way. Hopefully this will change later as the business grows. With all of that said, the food is absolutely delicious. I haven't had hot chicken this good since eating it in Nashville. We each got the breast & wing basket. The chicken was fried perfectly, and was crispy on the outside. The breast of chicken was juicy on the inside. It was not dried out. The seasoning was perfect. I was able to tolerate the mild, which is a good thing. I could barely tolerate the mild heat level when I had hot chicken in Nashville. I honestly can't wait to try the medium heat level next time just to see if I can tolerate it. That cayenne pepper flavor was there which is very important. It's not about the burn for most people. Well, at least not for me and my husband. My husband got the Extra Hot heat level which was plenty hot for him. He has a very high tolerance to hot peppers. I can't even imagine what the Crazy Hot is like. I'm pretty sure my husband will try it eventually. The chicken is served on top of a slice of bread with what I believe were house made pickles. The mac salad was actually pretty good. We got corn ribs as an extra side. They were also delicious, but it was a small portion. You know... like the Green Giant mini corn cob size but cut up into ribs. They season it with spices and that white BBQ sauce. That sauce is so awesome! I'm glad I got some of that sauce on the side even though it was an additional charge. I dipped the hot chicken into it. It made it even more flavorful. There was also a Bevi water machine. You get to select still or sparkling water and any of the 4 flavors. You can also select the flavor strength. Yep, water is good with hot chicken. I'm sure that they will eventually bring in more beverages as the business grows. They had some refrigerated drink selections too. We're definitely going back. We really needed a Nashville hot chicken place in the area. I'm so glad they are here. The wall mural is very cool. The restaurant is clean. It's in the Shoppes at Causeway near Strandhill Public and Lorita's. As you can see, I ended up rounding it up to 5 stars. Gosh darn it, I just couldn't help it. That chicken was fantastic! Don't miss this place if you love Nashville hot chicken. read more

This is one of my top favorite hot chicken eateries in Tampa Bay. I had the mild spiciness drumstick and thigh, and I upgraded my side dish to corn ribs. The fried chickens were cooked upon order- very fresh. The chicken meat was tender and juicy. Even though they were not gigantic size. Coating was not the crunchy type, and it was quite flavorful. I loved the corn- easy to eat and well-seasoned, delicious and yet not overwhelming. Service was good. The inside seating was new, clean and comfortable. We had an enjoyable dining experience here. read more
