We waited at least 20 minutes AFTER we were done eating and PAID. and still had to ask about the desert. Hannah asked another person to check on it, and we FINALLY got the cake. Came here on a Friday night. We made reservations via the waitlist tab on their website. We ended up waiting less than 10 minutes. It wasn't too crowded but you can tell it was picking up. I ordered the bourbon glaze salmon and shrimp with broccoli cheese casserole and a loaded potato. My kids got the chicken tender and cheeseburger kids meal. My husband got the ribs and fried shrimp with a side of fries and corn. All meals were great portion sides. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Stopped in with my parents for a small get together. Lots and lots and lots of empty tables and booths and she gives us a 4-top right next to the kitchen entrance. A polite request for something away from the kitchen was made and off to another table/booth we went. Our server was 'Kevin' and he was awesome. On top of our order, refilling drinks without our asking, and checking in from time to time. Fried shrimp was good. Salmon wasn't the best but the bourbon sauce was really good. Our visit to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Riverview was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Despite hearing that this newer location had received some mixed reviews, our experience was completely the opposite. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the drinks were on point. We visited around 1-2 PM when it was relatively quiet, and everything came out quickly. Most of the food was fresh and flavorful--especially the entrees. The only minor issue was the French fries, which tasted like they had been sitting out a bit. Aside from that, everything else was spot-on. I really enjoyed eating at Cheddar's in Riverview, Fl. I have made a return appearance at the same location, once for Dinner and another time for lunch. The service was excellent as my waitress made me feel special, with the various food and drink suggestions! As for the painkiller. I only had one! Two would have definitely been more than I could have handled. The atmosphere was cozy and quaint! I only wish we had one close to where I live! For the tenders dipping sauce with tried the honey hot I believe it was called anyways well drove up to the pick up area which our order was ready when we got there. Got home and everything smelled good looked fine until we started eating. I had noticed some of the pieces of chicken had a smell different than others and the chicken was very stringy. And the red beans and rice were extremely overcooked not very pleasant and the fries were fine. This is my second time dining at Cheddars, not this location the first time but another one. This one just opened and my wife convinced me to give the business at second chance. And I'm glad I did. I had the chicken fried chicken with mash potatoes and beans and rice. It was so much food and it was delicious. My wife had the grilled salmon with broccoli, carrots and rice and my mother in-law had the sirloin with a half slab of ribs with mash and green beans. We all loved what we ordered and we shared off of each others plates. I liked the ribs so I'll be getting those next time while my wife liked the beans and rice and she said that she'd order that next time. Oh and the bread the provided before our meal was warm croissants with what appeared to be an apple or honey butter. The cost for the three of us was about what my wife and I would spend if it was just the two of us. It's surprisingly better than the old Brandon location. I don't even remember seeing the honey butter croissants on their menu, much less getting a complimentary one before the meal. They are flaky, buttery, & delicious! We arrived at a time between lunch and dinner. It's apparently popular because most of the tables were pretty much taken with the exception of the high tops in the bar. We ended up with a half booth table in the bar near the kitchen. It's been 7 years since we've been to Cheddar's. That's about when the Brandon location closed down. I remember it mostly for the stacked onion rings. It took a while to reacquaint ourselves with the menu. We decided to pass on the rings since we had the croissants. By the way, you can get 2 more croissants for $1.99 (if desired). I was pretty much set on getting the Country Fried Chicken. My husband selected the Country Fried Steak. Both are served with 2 sides and Texas toast. I love that the chicken and steak are hand-breaded. They definitely tasted fresh. Especially my husband's fried steak. It was served hot, and tasted even better than the one that we like at Texas Roadhouse. The breading was thankfully not as salty as the latter one. The Broccoli Cheese Casserole was very cheesy. It was good despite not having too much broccoli. The Idaho Mashed Potatoes are kind of bland, but I appreciated having the country gravy on top. I'd probably skip the mashed potatoes and go with a side salad next time. Other than that, the service was very good and our food arrived in a good amount of time. It's located in the same shopping plaza as Target on Bloomingdale in Riverview. They also give military discounts. Yay! We will return. I want to get the Country Fried Steak. First time at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, and it was a disappointing experience. The food was okay, but nothing special. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger, sirloin steak, and penne pasta. We were seated right away, but it took over 20 minutes for our waitress to take our drink and appetizer order. The appetizer came out within about 10 minutes, but the drinks took even longer--we didn't receive them until after we had already finished the appetizer. My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight. What an amazing experience. Our waitresses name was Lauren she was absolutely amazing. We love Cheddar's when it was in Brandon before. And absolutely love it now. Onion rings season to perfection. My wife had to shrimp alfredo pasta she absolutely loved it. She rated at 9.5. onion rings absolutely a 9.5. had to shrimp and chicken tender platter with green beans and coleslaw. Green beans absolutely amazing coleslaw perfect chicken tenders and shrimp go to perfection that's a 9.5 easy. We absolutely will be back cannot wait to try couple other riders. Visited your restaurant on December 7, 2024. Food: I thoroughly enjoyed my Monte Cristo, and my guests were delighted with their meals. Price: The prices seemed reasonable. I paid $12.99 for my sandwich which came with fries. With tip, the total price for the three of us for lunch was nearly $60. Service: Unfortunately, service is where this restaurant was seriously lacking. Our beverage and meal orders were taken relatively soon after being seated. We received our drinks shortly afterwards. We then waited over twenty minutes before the waiter reappeared only to tell us that he was sorry about the delay in our food, they were short on cooks and they were finishing up on two large lunch parties. We told him we understood. It was another twenty minutes before our meals arrived-and they didn't arrive at the same time. During our meal, my cloth napkin had fallen from my lap to the floor under the table. Our waiter was no where to be seen so I flagged down a passing waitress and asked her to ask our waiter to bring me a napkin. She said she would. Nearly ten minutes later--still no napkins. I spotted our waiter heading to the bar, intercepted him and made my request. A few minutes later I had my new napkin. I have to offer a sad but comical observation. As I was returning to my table from intercepting the waiter, I watched a bus-boy stop at our table, reach down under the table, pick up the napkin from the floor and offer the dirty napkin to my wife. I thanked him for his effort but said, we'd prefer a clean one. Both my sister and I had empty drink glasses which we couldn't ask for refills due to the absence of our waiter. Eventually our waiter returned and we simply asked for to-go boxes. Seven more minutes, but we got them. I was disappointed with the service at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen on Bloomingdale Avenue. It's close to my home and I would have liked to make it a regular stop for meals. Maybe I'll give them another chance Areas for improvement: 1. Inattentiveness. Our waiter made only a few visits to our table. (No one to ask for napkins, no refills on drinks) 2. Slow Service. We were okay with delays with the food, but would have preferred notice sooner than later. 3. Poor collaboration. When we could not communicate with our waiter, the waitress we asked for assistance in obtaining napkins could have easily and quickly obtained them for us. She's representing your restaurant. I've been in so many restaurants where wait staff help one another. 4. Common Sense. The bus-boy picking up the napkin from the floor and offering it to a customer. Need I say more. read more

We have been here twice since it opened. The first time was a couple days after it opened and you could tell they were still going through the getting started pains, staff was a little confused, service was slow and the food wasn't quite right. We've been to many Cheddars over the years and I've always really enjoyed the food and service. The second time around was exactly what we would expect from a visit to a Cheddars. This was the worst decision. Showed up at 3.30 on a Saturday and was told 20 minutes with plenty of open tables because staff didn't show up and they weren't prepared for the rush. It's Saturday night, the most popular time to dine. How are you not prepared? We sit for 30 minutes and finally ask what's taking so long. They never texted us and gave our table away to Diana and not Dana. Absolutely trash of a place and I would not waste my time here. Manager is garage and doesn't know how to staff for a Saturday night and definitely doesn't know how to manage a restaurant. We walked out with ever being seated. Wasted 30 minutes for nothing.
