My style is far from mainstream and I always scour vintage and thrift stores for my clothing. With that said, I love this store! Sometimes I find a ton of cute stuff, and sometimes I walk out empty handed. I'm totally ok with that, as it's the nature of the beast. Prices are good, especially considering what certain brand name items originally sold for. I found a Free People dress that I coveted when it first came out, but couldn't afford the $180 price tag. I found one in my size at Crossroads for $14!!!! *dies* Regarding damaged items: Being one to give the benefit of the doubt (and because I hear the are picky when buying), I assume the rips, tears, and makeup stains on clothing I've come across is the result of fitting room shenanigans. Having paid my dues working retail once upon a time, I am fully aware that some people are thoughtless while trying on clothes. The staff has always been friendly and helpful when I need it, and they don't hover while I'm lost in my shopping haze. I love how the clothes are grouped by color and style, as it's really easy to find stuff. Specifically looking for a short, purple party dresses? Easy! You get the idea. Shoes aren't organized by size and they often aren't in pristine condition, but it's a THRIFT STORE. Duh. The Crossroads website clearly states what "fashionable items" they are currently looking for. If and when I ever decide to try my hand at selling them stuff, I'll be sure to pack my bag accordingly. All in all, I really like this store and it's selection is better than others that I have been to. My only complaint is that I can NEVER clearly see the short black dresses, because the lighting is weird in that section. They need a spotlight or something on them. Came back and skinny chick with purpleish white hair had a weird attitude agaim but helped me which i apprexiate. i like this location because it is walking distance from my house. please hire nicer employees that smile. I understand they have to be picky about what they buy but I don't need a lecture on how "cheap" some of the brands are that I brought in. Simply say no thank you. Not very good customer service. Very disorganized. I came here to sell for the first time last weekend. I signed in with 5 people ahead of me at 4PM. I sat and waited for an hour an 15 minutes, when I asked how much longer until my turn, they said there were still 4 people ahead of me. So it took them over an hour for 1 person??? They offer a 24 hour drop off where you leave your clothes you're selling them. So I opted for that. I went back the next day at 1PM. The lady told me they still hadn't gotten to me yet! And that it wouldn't be ready until 4PM. So, even 20 hours later, they still didn't get to me!? I said I'd rather just take my stuff and go home. She offered for me to wait another 45 minutes.. I said no. When she gave me back my stuff, she was very rude. I've been to many places to sell, Galaxy Exchange, Buffalo Exchange, and Dee Lux. Every time, I've never waited longer than 20 mins for them to get to my stuff. I would recommend anyone try these places over Crossroads! read more

Let me start by saying, I came in as a seller. I brought in 3 gigantic bags of clothes and shoes in first thing in the morning. The store was not crowded and that is a great time to drop things off. I left them for the 24 hour drop off and was then told a few different times I could come back to get the the following day. ( Apparently, the employees were not aware of their store hours). I came back the next day and was surprised that they only bought 2 items, saying the others were "dated". I wasn't expecting to get rid of a lot and my next stop was Goodwill anyway, but the clothes they did take were several years old. I had a lot of newer clothes, with tags still on, that they did not take. Based on the hideous clothes in the window, I had expected they would take more, but oh well. As I was leaving, I realized my bags were much lighter and I knew of a certain shoe that was no longer in my bag. I asked them about it and I got excuse after excuse. "No, we didn't run across that kind of shoe, you must not have brought it" and "the reason your bag is lighter is because we had to re-bag all of your items since yours were ripping." They kept making excuses, but I knew I was missing items. So the lady went back to the back and sure enough, a bag with my name on it ( and about 20 pairs of shoes) was back there. This infuriates me because not only did they insist I was wrong about locating my shoes, it seems rather shady that they would misplace a bag of that size. I would never go back here. First off I'd like to say that I love crossroads, it's a good way to kill time and save money on some slick fashion. That said I am only giving them a four star because they have never once in my years of patronage have they actually asked me if I needed help or if I was finding everything okay. I guess I'm okay with it, it's just the most curious thing. Now I'm not saying they aren't friendly they are just always merchandising or honestly understaffed. I've always been able to find something to wear here, or at any of the other crossroads. The one in San Fran on Haight is small compared to this one but I still managed to lock down a sweet two tone running jacket. You can bring your clothes that doesn't fit/suit your fashion/make you look skinny/er, they will always give you a fair deal, and you can go the cash route or store credit, I prefer the later but I'm just a clothes floozy to say the least. They sometimes have little 50%off stamps on tags for already good bargains gone even better. It remains a mystery to me how awesome and fashion forward this place is. I've even gone as far as to cut jeans into jean shorts when the trend came through and guess where I got the luckys/se7ven/Levi's/ pair of jeans I cut? I like how they sort the clothing by it's color. But, I rarely find anything here. I think that they need a new buyer. PERHAPS SOMEONE WHO HAS A SENSE OF STYLE AND TASTE! This place is SOOOOOOOOOO much better than Buffalo Exchange. I don't know why Buffalo Exchange decided to be snooty and picky about brand names. Those poops. When you're selling, sign in and make sure that the people at the counter see you and greet you. You can put your bags of clothes you want to sell off to the side and you can peruse around the store. They have Free People, 7 for all Mankind, Frankie B and Juicy stuff here! Crossroads do give you a better deal when you trade/sell. Just make sure your clothes are in good condition. read more

Located in a plaza with shops like BevMo, Coffee Bean and CVS, it's a store you'd likely cruise in if you have some time to burn. They have LOTS of stuff everywhere, somewhat organized by color or category (dresses, designer, purses, etc.). You can find a wide range of items from a Herve Leger dress or Louis Vuitton purse to a Forever 21 tops and Steve Madden purses. They have a glass case of designer goods prices $100+, such as a Burberry purse, Louis Vuitton purses and Tom Ford shades. They are picky/selective buyers, so make sure your items you want to sell are in the current season (shorts for summer, sweaters for winter, etc.), so you don't waste your time bringing bags of stuff in, only to take them back home. There are good deals to find here, especially when items become marked "half off", since stuff here isn't super pricey anyway. Some of the items even have original price tags still attached. Two downsides to this place: too much merchandise out on the floor. It just becomes overwhelming - I start to feel like I'm at Forever 21 and I don't have 3 hours to burn to look around. The other thing is that customer service isn't a thing here - I waited in line for almost 15 minutes for someone to ring me up for an item. Sure, one cashier was ringing someone purchasing multiple items, but the other two associates standing behind the counter... one was surfing the net, while the other was just standing next to her in the buying section. It was disappointing, given there were a handful of customers at this point, but the cashier ringing the guy up in front of me was having a drawn out conversation with the customer. I was pressed for time, so I just returned the dress I wanted to buy and headed out. These kind of things shouldn't go unnoticed because it can affect business with customers that don't have that kind of time and is a reflection on the business. They need to ring up all the customers, get them in and out so sales can be made... and realize that without the customers, they don't have a business to run. read more

This place used to be my favorite thrift store but I notice how their items can be really over priced. Especially the ones in bad condition. When going to a thrift store you expect to find things for really cheap and leave as if you saved more money than intended. At this place, the prices suck and make no sense. I saw two of the same shirts priced differently and not to mention their sizing. I saw a skirt that was supposedly a size '3/4' and ended up fitting me perfectly and I'm a size 0. Even though brand name items are cheaper than retail they are still too expensive and you are probably better off on eBay. The mannequins in the front aren't that fashionable and the store seemed disorganized. It would make things easier for their customers if they put things by their sizes and not just randomly. The girls that work there have no sense in fashion and seem snobby when they are working at a thrift store. So much better off at Plato's closet. Never coming to crossroads ever again. read more

Although I always find some nice things i have to give this place 2 stars because of the incredibly rude and unorganized staff. They give you the option to walk around and shop while they go through your clothes so I did. Right when they called my name i answered and went to the registers but they already skipped me! It literally maybe took me a minute to walk up to the register and when i asked about it my buyer was super rude and mean! I was more then willing to wait but just wished she was a little nicer, their entire staff is unprofessional and suck at their jobs. read more

The worst customer service EVER. Wanted to sell some clothes and waited an hour for absolutely nothing! Ended up just selling at Dee-Lux which is close by. There was one buyer who was a redheaded girl. I get that creating a conversation with the customer is important in retail but she became way too distracted and wasn't doing her job quickly enough when there was a long line. Then another young male started helping and I figured things would move a lot quicker, but NOPE. Same exact thing happened. Spent too much time talking and going off topic with the customer and spending about 20 mins on looking at one garment when people were coming in with BINS full of clothes. Complete waste of my time. giving 5 stars because I seriously hate used clothing stores where I usually go through rack after rack only to find NOTHING. This store wasn't the case, was here to get coffee nearby and went through a few racks, found 2 blouses, tried them on and SUCCESS! the prices were great $12 for an indian style tunic with sequins and stitching that I've seen starting at $60. Also, an INC sweater blouse that was $9.50 and I know their blouses range in the high $70's and up. If you don't mind a little work for great savings you should try this place out. Buyers are horribly slow and don't care they have a few people in line, even if there's a lot they won't give a crap. If you don't wait with them they will leave buying and get distracted with other things. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU STAY WITH THEM AND WATCH because I've seen them not even look through bags of things and be done in a minute. Also the non experienced ones have to get a second opinion from other buyers on about every item which takes time away from other buyer. The only buyer who knows her stuff and is super nice is the blonde- she might be a manager if she's not well she should be. No one else there is experienced. I've had to wait over 30 minutes with just 2 people in front of me and over 40 minutes any other time. They claim to not want to buy certain pieces because barely noticeable wears and tears, yet they'll buy anything that has forever 21, Bebe, h&m smacked on it. Hate those stores. The only somewhat nice designer stuff they sell are hung up on the walls and not within reach. I had a Joie vintage leather jacket that thankfully they didn't buy, sold it to wasteland and they priced it a little over $200. Don't waste your time coming here. I'm officially done. read more

Before my review I would like to state that the customer service was very friendly and welcoming but maybe not functional... When I went to sell my things, they said it was about 5 minutes per person and 4 people in front of me.. 30 minutes later when I went up to see how much longer they told me about another hour.. turned out to be an hour and a half when they finally got to me and when I went up was told I couldn't sell anything because I didn't have an ID with me.. Recently I discovered crossroads trading co when I was in downtown Santa monica. This thrift store has a great selection, and very reasonable prices. Better than buffalo exchange by Farr. This location is pretty good, a lot spacer and more clothes. In the front of the store there is racks of new clothing, I believe, and those are usually around ten to thirty dollars, depending on the item. The racks of used clothing along the wall have so many cute clothes; They aren't old vintage styles or nasty smelly clothes like salvation army. The styles that they have are very unique. No some old navy or target/ h&m clothes that you would typically find. They have a lot of name brands, such as free people, j. Crew, Marc Jacobs, Michael kors, designer denim, and so on.. They also carry a lot of boutique brands like luxe and Audrey 3+1. along the wall near the register they have all the expensive items, which are fun to look at. They had a marc Jacobs purse for 150, not bad I guess . My boyfriend went with me but couldn't find much stuff for men.. The employees are pretty friendly and very helpful. I did not find them to be snooty like some people say about workers at consignment shops. read more

I've sold here twice. First time great experience, long wait but I expected this. Today, short wait and even shorter to go through my items. I guess it all depends on who you get. This girl barely looked at my stuff. She stated that my items were hard to sell. What I don't understand is when I shopped around the store I saw same brands, condition and material being sold there. As well as shoes being " non-leather". Two stars is based on this experience. I'm not so much disappointed that my items weren't bought more the customer service/lack of interest from this visit. I was also skipped when I arrived after I got the text, one min later. I wish I could remember the guys name from before just because he was so pleasant. Also I should add that I have bought here a few times and gotten some pretty cute dresses at good prices and conditions. On that note, I'll add another star. read more

Selling here is hit or miss- I've brought bags of clothes in and the buyer will pass on everything, only to bring the same clothes again a week later to a different buyer who takes everything. As for buying here, seems as though employees have first dibs on the good clothes that come through, and the rest is just filler. read more

I've been to this place quite a lot in the past but finally got over myself to give them a review only after they expanded the store, wise choice! They have a wide selection of clothes and what I love most about Crossroads is they have nice high end labels. The only thing that bothered me so much is that they should migrate away from warehouse look to boutique look because that would really help improve my shopping experience and it is still hard for me to look for something. I understand it's a second hand store and all but if they carry high end items they should be able to display it better. The wall displays are not appealing at....the front area is great but everybody looks too busy all the time to ask if you can see the items held out front. Customer service also stinks here. I was never greeted once and I was there for over an hour and I noticed how these two employees were cluttered together in the back. As for selling.......I didn't get too much for my nice clothes. I'm a little confused about their buy process because there were some things in there that was just ugly and expensive and they didn't take some of my cute clothes! At least they have the consignment option and let you know how much they will be pricing something for. I have to admit that I would prefer this Crossroads over others thrift/second hand stores. read more

One of my fave locations. I always find gorgeous maxi dresses and trendy purses from this location. But you really have to dig for the treasures. Don't expect to walk in and out in 10 minutes. It's amazing to me that the girls who buy the clothes pick through my stuff with such snobbery but one look around the shop and you find a crapload of cheap Forever 21 crap. The never buy anything vintage that I bring in, so I always end up taking those items to Buffalo Exchange or Deelux. That being said, they do buy back anything designer (Betsey Johnson and Hobo International always net me some cash) and sometimes they surprise me on other items they purchase. I wish they would stock less of their new stuff and buy back more vintage/interesting pieces. I rarely buy anything here, I usually just take my money and run. But, the place is always packed, so obviously I am in the minority. read more

this Crossroads does NOT compare to the one on Melrose in LA. however, i do have luck finding discontinued jeans here. unfortunatley most of the clothes here are not in my particular style. its mostly "bro hoe" type clothes. just not my thing. its better to take the trip to LA for a more better selection of designer and vintage clothing. read more

I'm not sure how this place stays afloat. Merch travels at a snail's pace here. Same stuff on clearance for a very long time. I think they price everything way to high. I still managed to find some very key items that were half off. Designer stuff extremely overpriced. And when I sold clothing, buyer made two piles, then went through the "buying" pile again! First time I"VE EVER had this happen. I've been buying and selling at consignment shops for about 20 years!! All over LA and OC. Needless to say I was disappointed in what they actually purchased from me. None of my items sold in that month of traditional consignment, either. If they were marked for half of what they adverstise, they would probably sell A LOT more. Clerks all super nice!!!! So, the shopping/selling experience was defenitely worth it in the end.
