I came in Friday evening 1/23 and had a very bad experience, which is surprising because my prior experiences have been great. Beforehand, I called to ask if they had a bag limit (they don't). My closet purge was way overdue, so I had 3 rolling luggages that I brought in. Immediately when I entered, the vibe was off. The night crew was all males and they had very poor customer service! The manager was fine, but the two buyers could not stop rolling their eyes to eachother, looking super annoyed I brought in 3 suitcases. They would constantly look at eachother, then me, like speaking to eachother telepathically, probably cursing me out silently for making their jobs harder. The two buyers was a Latino guy with longer hair and facial piercings, and a white skinny tall guy with longer hair. Here's the thing, I know it's a lot to sift through and it's not what you wanna be doing on a Friday night, but I drove far to get here and I'm not going to be bringing 2 bags at a time. It's also not my fault they don't have a bag limit. It was a Friday night and the store was DEAD mind you. This was so unlike my previous experiences a year+ ago, the crew working was either mixed gender or girls and they have always been so cheerful even when I brought in 3 luggages. I felt like such a bother! The next day, I brought all 3 of those luggages to Buffalo Exchange in Fullerton and I guess and I was being overly accommodating helping them put the clothes back into my luggage, hovering and making their buying experience easier however I could. The buyer was a bit confused, and was wondering if I was sorting the clothes she passed on to donate. I said no Id take everything back, Im just helping her pack up the clothes again because I know it's a lot of stuff, and she was like "Oh I've seen more! Don't worry at all, I can put the stuff back it's literally part of my job." This was on a Saturday afternoon when they were really busy mind you! Its crazy how the previous night's experience at Crossroads made me feel self conscious about being a bother, but in fact its THEM that is the problem. They are horribly lacking customer service skills and really should try harder to suppress their irritation (its a skill you must have in that industry). I wouldn't have written this review, but my great selling experience at Buffalo Exchange was a night and day difference. I hope they get some friendlier staff on board. read more

I came here to sell several bags of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Most items were gently used (many worn only once or twice), well cared for, and from recognizable brands. Nothing was accepted. I understand resale stores buy selectively and by season that part isn't the issue. The problem was how the items were evaluated. The review felt rushed and overly generalized, as if a few pieces were used to judge everything without a proper look. There also seemed to be limited experience recognizing quality, including higher-value items like a genuine leather business bag. What makes this confusing is that the store's current inventory does not reflect the same standards they claim to require. Much of what is for sale is comparable or lower in quality than what I brought in. Overall, this was a waste of time. If you're looking to sell good-condition items, you may want to donate instead or go to a resale business with clearer criteria and more knowledgeable staff. read more

Crossroads Trading Co is a great 2nd-hand/consignment store. It is one of the bigger ones in the area and it's also organized really well. For me, going into a store that is organized well is always really important, especially one with so much merchandise. I know when it comes to selling here, they are pretty particular and I believe you can find some of the styles they're looking for online. Unless you have a really high end item to put on consignment, I wouldn't expect to make too much by selling your clothes here. The better way is probably to trade for a store credit. First time ever here at Crossroads Trading, for some reason, I thought this was like a regular thrift shop, but it's not! Went in and Was sort of disappointed it was just clothing and shoes for the most part, BUT Then.... I found a really cool pair of vintage leather Red Wings, and lo and behold, they were 10.5 ! And even more surprisingly to me, they were within my price range. I took 4 bags of clothes and shoes to this location. The buyer didn't accept anything. Most of what I brought in was gently used Abercrombie, American Eagle, Zara, Steve Madden, Express, etc. But he only pointed out the few pieces (6) from target/shein as representative of everything I brought in, saying it would be difficult to sell. I had a couple NWTs as well that weren't accepted. This would have been fine, I understand it might not be what they're looking for. But when I was browsing their selection, they are selling jackets where the pleather is peeling off of it. I don't understand how all the clothes I brought, including the new basic cardigans, were not accepted, but quality like this was on the floor. I go to a lot of crossroads as they're my main shopping spot. This location is really big and they have lots to look through. Prices were pretty high on some items which is disappointing but they had a good selection overall and plenty of dressing rooms. It was busy but they have lots of staff to help out. One of the better crossroads I've visited I'd say in terms of quality of selection other than the prices being a bit high. Some of the items in there were really really worn just because it's a brand name it shouldn't mean they should be charging so high for it. read more

Please note they don't take or sell kids clothing which would be a huge opportunity for them. Went to try and sell a few high end items that I was no longer using. They swifter through them and didn't buy any but that is because they only look for clothing that season (I guess I get it but I not likely to see fall clothes when I would wear them). The waitlist is a scam. They ask you to get there in the 15 min window, check you in and make sure you wait for another hour. The service was horrible- when speaking to the girl to ask if I should bring the clothes back in the summer, I got a very vague answer that didn't answer my question. Let me start by saying I started my resell journey at Uptown Cheapskate in El toro. Horrible experience. Rude and denied my bag of clothing without even looking at it. Mind you I had higher end items brand new with tags. Employee literally took 30 second on a giant trash bag and said no. She complained first I had too much stuff then took nothing. I came to Crossroads and was met with a smile. The process was flawless. Britney was so helpful and honest start to finish. Love this place! Come at least 15-20 mins. before they open if you want to sell your clothes and wait for them. A nice line starts outside and people sit along the wall waiting for them to open. Done forget to check their website for the types of clothes they're accepting. I need to do a better job of checking that before I clean my closet! I would probably have more success around selling if I did. I never just take the cash and always prefer to collect the credit. Now, it's even better because they got rid of merchandise credit cards and it's all digital in your account across stores! This location is my favorite. Roaming around the store while I waited I paid close attention to price points on items similar to what I brought in. Most of the items were far from recent in my opinion and priced high for what they were. Over $20 for a well worn Madewell flannel that was over 4 years old? (sometimes you can see the season and year the item is from on the inside tag) Any way, from my entire bag they selected only three items all of which were new with tags and less than a year old. I like that, unlike other local consignment shops, you check in on an iPad with your number and they text when it's your turn & you have 15 minutes to return before losing your spot. No waiting in a line. You can shop, the center has many stores, coffee/food shops, etc. Buyers vary drastically. My son and his girlfriend went recently to bring their own stuff (they too felt that it was a fairly positive experience) and I threw in a few things with my son they had passed on last time (a week prior) but bought this time! I haven't purchased anything (yet) but I do think they have a good selection. And there's always buyers and sellers any time a day I go. read more

I have been to Crossroads on several previous occasions -- to purchase items, but had never "sold" anything there, and was; therefore, not certain how "smoothly" everything would go. Their "App" allowed for me to establish my "place in line" -- however, depending on the number of other individuals wanting to "sell" (at the same time) -- the "wait period" can sometimes be an hour. When traffic backed up -- I called and spoke to BREE (to let her know I could be 15 minutes late), who "found" my "slot" and said that she would "do her best" to get me "in" -- without having to call and make a "New Appointment." When I arrived (about 12 minutes "late") -- MAKIAH assisted me the moment I walked through the door (BREE had given her my message) -- and I was "Beyond Ecstatic" with her friendly demeanor, professionalism, and ability to see the value in my items and offer me "fair" offers. RYLEY -- who was MAKIAH's supervisor also assisted in a couple of instances with expediting the process -- and approving MAKIAH's "offers." All-in-All -- BREE, MAKIAH, and RYLEY made my experience at Crossroads Trading extremely enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Crossroads Trading to anyone who is Looking for a place to help with turning hidden treasure into gold (from your closet) -- but also, for those who are looking for a most unique gift for a family member or loved one. The girl with long brown hair and had acne wasn't kind at all and had an attitude with me for no reason. I also had an issue with a short Hispanic girl who wasn't friendly either. Well, this place has gone downhill. First of all the wait was the longest I have ever seen it. I've sold clothes over the years and never had them never take anything. I had clothes and shoes that even had new tags on it. Worst part is I don't even think they went through my clothing. I had some items new with tags and even items I had previously purchased from their store but never wore. I dropped clothing off and just a couple minutes later they called me back up to the front. Highly recommend this location! I used to go to the location in echo park but honestly the parking wasn't the best over there and the store is extremely small. In this location they have plenty of parking. The workers here are extremely kind and always greet when you walk into the store. You can see the workers looking through your clothes and genuinely inspecting. Sometimes they might ask other coworkers for opinions which is completely valid and normal. I've been coming to this location for months and they have helped me clear out my closet. I have also done consignments for different items and the process has gotten easier and better! Now they offer Zelle payments for consignments only instead of waiting for a check. I know many people complain about not selling much but they are strict when it comes to seasons and also don't take clothing if ripped, stained or worn out. Which is why shopping here is great because the clothing/accessories are in amazing condition! They also explain to you why some items aren't accepted and if you want a clearer explanation for pricing, etc. they will thoroughly explain everything to you. The wait can get long so I try getting there early whenever I can. But most times I use the app to join the waitlist remotely so by the time I get to the location I'm only waiting a few minutes. I always heard amazing things about crossroads but wow. I got only 4 items and each item was tagged $20 or less. So when I went to checkout I assumed the total would be around $80 or $85 MAX. Nope. Not sure HOW but my total came to $100.45. How? Genuinely how? The tags were tagged $20, but with four items (some not even being $20) the total came to $100. Go to goodwill, go to literally any other thrift store. It's a scam and the prices are insane. The customer service was also awful. read more

Staff was friendly. I was hoping to sell some high-end items my husband no longer wears due to weight loss and shoes I can no longer wear due to foot injury. I was offered less than $10 for a $700 Karl Lagerfeld coat my husband never wore. About $5 for a Michael Kors soft as butter leather vest and about $5 for a pair of Coach leather booties all in perfect condition & currently in style. I believe the cash offer for all three was about $26. I understand Santa Monica is slow these days & they likely have a lot of inventory they need to get rid of. Wish they had told me that when I called to ask what was selling & what they were over stocked on. No interest in my Patagonia booties, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Joan & David and Moro (handmade in Spain) high boots- all in excellent condition. No interest in graphic men's tee-shirts- Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, R Crumb, etc. No interest in men's Zegna jackets & sweaters. I used to be a clothes buyer so I know when clothes are hip, classic or not. At the basic $5 a pop price point they are offering sellers for hi-end designer items I can easily get a few bucks more at my own yard sale.
