This used to be the best place around, but new owner had done a serious nosedive. One reason we like to consign here is that if it doesn't sell, it gets donated to a great cause (Discovery Shop), benefitting cancer patients and families. Not sure what happens now. One thought is that owner tries to sell in her other shop......... Of course this affects donations ! The whole thought of benefiting others has faded. if there were zero stars, I would put that down! I brought in 13 items all dry cleaned, on Beautiful hangers, and I did not hear from anyone for nine days. I went into the store and met Matthew. He said he already sold a jacket and I had $27 but the jacket was $400 brand new. There was no communication whatsoever and I did not OK the pricing yet. I wanted my clothes back and he said come back in a couple of days and I said no I'd like them back today and he put them, 13 items, in one bag just thrown in . worst customer service. Decades ago it was impeccable, things have completely changed. I'll never go back there again. read more

Very disappointed with how careless they are with the consigned items. My item didn't sell in a month so came to pick them up. Took a while for them to retrieve my item which now that Ive taken a look at it makes sense--they were probably trying (and failed) to take off the sticker they put on a material which they shouldn't have had. Didn't even care to properly take off the tags they'd put on. Additional scratches on the case. Would rather donate than sell via this shop. To be fair with the commission rate you basically are donating so might as well give it to the ones who'd look after it with care. I'm in awe at how they irresponsibly handled someone else's property as someone whose job is to sell other people's well kept secondhand items. Regardless of the store's unprofessional incompetence the old ladies were very lovely. read more

I really enjoy the aesthetic of this store vs On Que Style. It's also more affordable and less intimidating to walk through. Very homey and warm while still having very top level brands like Burberry and Armani. Found fantastic pieces for under $100. I also learned I never need to buy blazer from the mall ever again because there are a billion here. They also have a fun 40%+ off sale every last Sunday of the month which I checked out. They have snacks and drinks too while you shop on this Sunday. The staff is very nice and plenty of free 2 hour parking all around. Looks like you need an appointment on M-F to sell things though. Definitely recommend if you want designer clothing at more affordable prices. read more

Ilet me start by saying I am not all that and a slice of bread. I am normal and human and I love my gym clothes.... But I have one thing to say for their saleswoman don't judge a book by it's cover because you may not know your audience. This is one of the best clothing store. Reasonable prices and very unique I am bringing some of my clothes and never leave without something new,something that is one of the kind. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I dropped off scarves (Gucci). They didn't sell and when I went to pick them up, the tags were cut off?! I asked what happened, and why and they said they didn't do it. NONESENSE. I would leave 0 stars if I could. I bought a used chinchilla coat from them for $2100 , which I found out that week from MULTIPLE furriers that it was in fact not chinchilla but a fake chinchilla fur using dyed rabbit fur to look like the real thing. I brought the coat back and they refused to give me a refund. If these people are selling fake chinchilla coats I wouldn't trust any designer clothing that they're selling either. Don't get ripped off by these people, go elsewhere. read more

My friend decided this year's bday was going to have a 40's theme. Not being into recycled or vintage anything, I was a little lost as to what to wear. After badgering my grandma for ideas and to raid her closet, I hit the local thrift stores. The first few stores seemed like exactly what you think of thrift stores- cheap looking, old, musty smelling and junkie with strange staff who think they're Betty Page. This one was thankfully much different. The store itself reminds me of a little upscale boutique with tons of lighting and nice accessories and shoes on display. As soon as I entered, I was helped by a very nice woman who put together an entire outfit for me. Being a size 2, the other stores I'd perused didn't exactly have anything to offer me, but this spot definitely did. Thank you upscale anorexic cougars. That being said, I got an awesome dress and a funky cool hat and makeup and hair tips to pull the outfit together. And they asked me to bring them back some pics so they know how it all worked out. So kind. I can't rave enough about the staff here. Next vintage themed party, I'll start my search here instead of ending it here. read more

The woman at the counter when walking in who I am assuming is the owner is so rude! I walked in to look around with my family when I seen her give us a look and not even greet us. By seeing the look she gave it made me uninterested to even promote her business buy purchasing anything there. Pricing is ridiculous as well not to mention. read more

My second time walking in this store in a year !!!!! Well what can I say - NO THANK YOU! Had some Great items for good prices, but the sales person is just unpleasant and ignorant! When I walked in and just had few questions about consigning something, she just gave me a card and said to make an appointment! Ok that is understandable, but why can't you answer a simple question about percentage and pricing!!!! Store has very unpleasant atmosphere and sales lady! Awhile ago, I was strolling around Corona Del Mar with my boyfriend. He has been in a casual hunt for a new suit. Recycled Rags had an incredible Canali suit. Built piece with an accompanying Canali tie. Highly recommend stopping by. Plus, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Overall, has a few great finds with good people to help you. read more

Very old fashioned clothes for older women -- nothing anyone under 40 would wear. They were having some sort of sale. My mom, dad nor I got a hello or a smile from any workers. Welcome to Newport! .. And we're from here haha. Also overheard a tall woman in her 30s (likely youngest there) tell a young girl (like 6 or 7) that if she ate donuts she would become fat and round like a donut. read more

Rude, rude, rude. Yes- they have designer names, but charging those prices with all that attitude?! No thanks. I found labels that can be purchased for less at Nordstrom Rack. My friend wanted to try on some boots, but the sales lady said they were being held for someone else in the dressing room. The stalls were empty! The sales lady was all attitude because who knows why- probably because I am under 50 and wearing flip flops. If the old lady had better eyes, she would have seen I was carrying a Dolce & Gabana handbag. Remember the line from pretty Woman?! Normally you'll find women commenting on this store, so consider this an angle from a man's man, who only goes into the men's section, and didn't think there would be much here for men my age. Wow, was I wrong. Everything is clean and well presented here, and they have many trendy options for men's fashion, including a great selection of Armani suits and jackets, and Robert Graham shirts. Definitely not a thrift store, but more high fashion high priced and yet still a great deal high end clothing. I'll be back here often! read more

I came in with money and a goal to find a designer purse. I was greeted right when I came in the door. Told the lady what I was looking for and it was torture for her to tell me where the bags were. I took it among myself to look around. Another gal greeted another guest with open arms and looked at me and said nothing. I'm not poor I just want a more affordable price for designer things; hence the concept of the store. Such a huge disappointment, and really don't enjoy the way they made me feel about myself. eBay here I come. read more

My first time in this store was Saturday. It was a rainy day, and I practically had the store to myself. Staff was helpful, and very nice. Tons of high end designer apparel: Chanel, Prada, etc. Selection of purses included: Coach, Gucci, LV and Prada. Excellent price on the purses and all were in great condition. Shoes included: Cole Haan, Jimmy Choo among others... I can't wait to go back. There was a ton of stuff I could have walked out with. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for staple wardrobe pieces, that will be in your closet for years to come. read more

I needed to look GOOD for a party, and if you know me, it is not an easy thing to accomplish. Vera, and staff, helped me pick a nice suit, something that I looked good in, they chose the color, and the cut. I paid a little over $100 for it, when I took it to the tailor to adjust, he was very impressed with the quality of the suit, and he couldn't believe that I only paid a little over $100 for it. I agree. This is a CDM staple and I really like it. I have been going here on and off for around 15 years since I was in my 20's. They have a good variety of clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry. It's such a unique shop and most of the women there are really nice and helpful directing me toward what I'm looking for at any given time in my small size. One time I just hit the jackpot because there was a small petite woman with nice chic clothes who was my size. I bought a bunch of stuff she consigned. She must have moved. ;-) read more

Best place to go if you are looking for those rare pre-owned St. John/ Chanel finds. I bought an amazing one piece green and blue St. John jumper there and amazing jewelry pieces. The only "recycled" designer boutique I would ever bother going into. When I am in the area- I always stop in and peek around. I have been doing this for years- and they have been here forever! Great place and sooo worth the visit! Boyfriends can sit down on the couch (hopefully take a nap so we have enough time to pack the clothes in the trunk) and let the girls do what they do best. read more

The review is more for the staff than the merchandise. I live in the neighborhood and love the merchandise however the most lackluster staff I have ever come across. Just rude, never smile. Love this store, it is a Corona Del Mar staple. It is very quaint, kinda like going back in time with amazing high-end items. Lots of selection, incredible ladies that know their merchandise well. They make you feel so welcomed and wanting to come back! I have sold everything I have consigned there and been extremely happy with their standards. Not exactly my style of clothes. Kind of middle aged, Las Vegas/O.C. Cougar stuff. Some men's stuff, too. A friend from back East had some old school Gucci purses and belts that she wanted to get rid of. I told her to send them to me and I would find a place to sell them on consignment. This store seems to do a brisk business. Things aren't cheap but they have a big sale on the last Saturday of the month where things that have been there for 30 days gets marked DOWN. My mother in law has been shopping here for years. Super deals and amazing stuff! She I traduced me to the place a few years ago and I always make it a point to walk down when I am in town. I honestly can't believe someone said "no one under 40 would shop here" I am 26 and I found an amazingly trendy Isabel Marant dress last week with a matching Alexander McQueen bag in impeccable condition for a steal. And as far as the staff is concerned I have never received anything but exceptional service. Particularly from the tall blonde with great bone structure. She even let me know about cool things going on in the area that I could take my three year old to- Cinderella on Broadway!! And she put up with my rambunctious three year old and gave her a book to look at so I could shop. I have nothing but good things to say about this place! My mother in law loves the parking lot parties on last Sunday of the month and gets designer stuff for a fraction of retail. Do yourself a favor and stop by! You will not leave empty handed!
