I discovered Open Market OC this past November just in time for the holiday season. My absolute favorite thing about this store is that I am supporting local small businesses like crafters, jewelry makers, chandlers, and sooo much more. During my many visits to the store, I was always greeted and offered information about the products. The staff is just so friendly and knowledgeable about each vendor. It's a great place for gifts. You have to check it out when you are at Pacific City. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at OC Market at Pacific City, specifically with the store manager, Reese. I purchased a gift for my wife with a gift receipt, but I purchased the wrong size. My wife is pregnant and went in just a couple of days past the return window to exchange the item for the correct size. The same item was available in the store in other sizes. She explained in person that it was a gift and was told that it did not matter. Despite it being the holiday season and despite being only two days late, the manager refused to make any accommodation whatsoever, including store credit. I later called Reese to explain the situation, including that the size issue was due to pregnancy and that my family and I have supported this store for years. None of that changed the response. My wife was treated in a manner that caused her to leave the store in tears. After the fact, Reese attempted to "help" by contacting the vendor and then stated that my wife could return to the store and exchange the item only for another product from the same vendor at equal value. This option was never offered during her original visit. Even then, it would require her to come back again and potentially choose something she does not want after already being turned away once, which is unreasonable. When I asked for the owner's contact information, Reese refused to provide it, stating that she was not allowed to share it. As a local to Huntington Beach, this experience has cost OC Market years of future business, along with the business of my friends and family and any recommendations I would have otherwise made. I understand stores have policies, but good businesses allow reasonable flexibility, especially during the holidays. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. We will not be returning. read more

My husband bought me a sweater as a gift at a temporary pop-up location over the holidays, and was told that because the pop-up would be closing in a few days, If I had to exchange it for a different size, I could do so within 30 days at their brick-and mortar location in HB. Based on this information, I waited until after the holidays to exchange the sweater for a different size. I called ahead of time asking them if they had the specific sweater in my size in the store. I also wanted to make sure they'd honor the exchange (I had a receipt). I live far away and didn't want to waste my Sunday afternoon stuck in traffic if I couldn't fulfill my objective . The girl I spoke to on the phone said they wouldn't accept a return/exchange after January 5th, but that because the salesperson at the other location told us "30 days", to come on by anyway (as I was within the timeframe) and they'd take care of me. (Just a note: the January 5th deadline was nowhere printed on the receipt or on anything they could have provided me as part of their return policy). I was in traffic for an hour, got there and was denied an exchange or store credit. The salesperson was adamant I only had until January 5th despite what was communicated to us at the other location (and on the phone) and despite the receipt not indicating its return policy or a deadline. As a matter of courtesy and customer service, I expected them to take ownership of another employee giving us the wrong information. We acted based on this wrong information. I also expected them, for my troubles, to honor an exchange at the LEAST. I wasn't expecting a full refund, and the item was unused with the tag still on. They did nothing to retain me as a customer, nothing to keep me as a customer, and nothing to entice me to be a returning customer. Based on this experience, the store has poor customer service practices. They sacrificed future hundreds of dollars of sales from me because they couldn't exchange a mere $58. It's unfortunate. read more

This place is definitely a one stop shop in Huntington Beach as they have a variety unique items such as fashion, plants, art, vintage items, artisan foods and a lot more. Neat concept of a store that sells goods made locally.. however, upon arrival you get no welcome or even asked if you have any questions or need assistance. I wandered around the whole store, as I was curious of all the products, and was not once spoken to. The two staff were just at the register area talking amongst themselves while myself and a few other potential customers were walking around the store. As for the products, you can find tons of jewelry, some womens clothes, a small section of girls/toddler dresses, small section of dog outfits, and lots of candles. read more

I'm a girl who loves her crystals and they actually have a pretty decent and good looking variety, placed in little pockets around the store. I bought a jade beaded bracelet ($15) and a pair of quartz earrings ($22). I'm pretty picky with crystal jewelry - sometimes they can look kind of gaudy - but the earrings were understated and beautifully designed. Staff are helpful and attentive as well. read more

Basically a garage sale! The store is unwilling to allow any exchanges or returns whatsoever. No exceptions. This makes it impossible for purchasing gifts. Also a lot of their items are damaged / marked as wrong sizes.. which you might not notice until you get home or give it to someone as a gift and they notice. **They refuse to do returns or exchanges. Their answer was "buy gift cards next time". Seriously?!!! **Basically it's a garage sale - all sales are final. **Make sure to inspect each item extremely carefully and try it on before purchasing. They'll be out of business in no time I'm sure. **UPDATE: I also purchased a necklace and it was way too long on my girlfriend so the very next day I brought it in to exchange for a same priced necklace by the same vendor.. and they still said no to the swap. I stopped in after hearing about it on social media. Great location, the store itself is cute, and they sell a ton of jewelry, candles, clothes, accessories. I bought a couple of necklaces, a ring, and a candle. I was interested in trying on a few dresses but found the three employees/sales associates I interacted with to be very unfriendly and I wasn't really comfortable interacting with them any more than I had already. I get the feeling it's that cool girl, exclusive vibe they're going for, and maybe that's awesome for some shoppers. My experience at open market was extremely horrifying; I'm never returning for one reason and person. I came in a few weeks ago to browse when I overheard a worker calling customers "stupid for being in her way." She was wearing leggings, black hair, and has tattoos. I wasn't able to get a name, but she was extremely passive aggressive, rolling her eyes and sighing when I was around the area as her. As a person who works in retail, I understand frustration, but don't make it visible to customers. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. read more
