We would give 5 1/2 stars if we could. Dr. Rubio and his mobile staff are the best in the business. And who doesn't love that they pull into your driveway so neither you, your pets nor your kids are stressed from the experience.

Dr. Rubio and staff are amazing, dedicated to the best health for my pets, professional and extremely kind. They are definitely on the top of my recommendation list

This is the best vet in Magnolia, spring, the woodlands. Dr. Rubio was my vet before at a clinic and I googled to find him. Prices are extremely competitive which was really impressive. The other great part was I didn't have to vacuum my car or pay for someone else too after putting the two beagles driving and then having to fill out forms and wait to see a vet in a clinic. The service and personal attention can not be beat or even compared . Dr. Rubio is extremely thorough and knowledgable as well as Faith. I'm so glad I called and did my yearly check up in my driveway.

Ask the Community - Crossway Veterinary Housecalls

Hi! I am so excited to see this vet has a mobile practice now! I used Dr Rubio years ago for my dog and was impressed. I am wondering what the prices are for an exam and if there is an extra fee for the drive?

Hi Lisa! We are glad you have found us and Dr Rubio. Please call our office on Monday. Our number is 832-948-8007. We are strictly mobile so we will need to know your location to give you a price for the drive, which is what we call a housecall… Read more

I didn't see this vet until a litter over a month. She addressed several concerns that I had brought up to several other vets. She took them all seriously. Many vets didn't bother because of exactly how bad his injury was. His injury made it impossible to do any of his needed bodily functions so I took care of all of that. Then a few months after his injury he started to self mutilate. I fought that as best as I could physically as well as with the use of medications. He never healed from that. It was at least nine month of me trying to take care of that. He ended up with multiple UTI's also. No one addressed his hair loss that started as soon as his paralysis. Never really addressed it or the skin pealing that was happening. He also started having frequent ear infections. None of his other vets even bothered with the hair loss or flaking. It ended up spreading over a lot of his skin then the hair would just peel off with his skin. She addressed that and ALL of my other concerns. She even saw the small part of his tail that had actually died. I hadn't seen it. I just thought his tail was looking a bit strange along with his skin problem. We scheduled surgery for it. In the wait for the surgery that section of his tail fully died. I let her know and she came up with a much closer appointment. I know she had squeezed him into her lunch break because she was packed prior to that and with no cancelations. While I was waiting for his surgery even more things happened that caused me to think about his quality of life. I decided that euthanasia was the best choice for him instead of the surgery. She was extremely kind and compassionate. Much better than another vet I won't name which treated another dog of mine like a piece of meat. All of her staff were amazing. Today I received a condolence card in the mail from the clinic. I think that was amazing of her and her staff to do. Dr. Toups is amazing as well as all the staff. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thank you very much to all of you at the clinic Marsha

When Dr. Scott came in, she wasn't pleasant and acted as if she couldn't touch my dog, even though he had a muzzle on. She left, and I was given an initial cost of over $1000 to start treating my dog, which I couldn't afford. The cost was then reduced to $800, and finally to $192 for bloodwork, fluids and an office visit, which I could afford. However, they said my dog wouldn't let them give him fluids nor could they draw his blood, so they sent me home with meds (pills) and charged me $162, advising me to bring him back in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my dog wasn't eating, so giving him the meds didn't work and by the next day, he was worse. I took the long drive to his previous vet, where I should have gone initially. They immediately took action, assisted me with CareCredit and although I now have an $1800 bill, I will gladly pay it for the service and treatment my dog is receiving. Had Dr. Scott shown some kindness and not spoken about my dog in a non-caring manner in her back hallway; the walls are thin my dear, I would have applied for CareCredit at their clinic to get him treated. I will never go back to this place and Dr. Scott needs to consider a new line of work because part of being a veterinarian is to care about the animals you're servicing, regardless of breed, the owner's race, or financial status. I wasn't looking for free services; I was looking for help and guidance, but I didn't find it there.

Our first experience speaks volumes: We moved from out of state, and were in a short term rental that didn't allow dogs. Along the way, our GSD Knight developed a problem attitude around being kenneled, which resulted in him getting asked to leave a couple of boarding places, which was super distressing. Forest Shadows was recommended by a friend who warned me they had a couple low online reviews at the time, but she personally attested to how great they were with her 2 nippy dogs. Since I trusted her and we needed help, we reached out, discussed his behaviors, and enrolled him in the Board & Train 2 week program which worked perfectly with our timeline. It was a GOD-SEND. Long story short: Knight came back to us super happy and way better trained. The staff communicated specific adjustments to help his kennel issues, monitored situations when our dog didn't respond well, adjusted accordingly, and more importantly expressed they "weren't going to give up on him and were willing to keep trying." I literally cried when they told me that. What really exemplifies Forest Shadow's amazing staff is our experience moving out of the US during the global pandemic. After we sold our home, we boarded Knight, we flew to the UK, and relied on Forest Shadows to work with our Pet Relocation team so he could join us overseas. The relocation process got delayed a few times, and he ended up boarding with Forest Shadows for just over 2 months. During this trying time, they were patient, flexible, willing to assist, and sympathetic to our changing circumstances. I was so grateful we didn't have to stress about our dog! All the staff delivered great customer service: front desk Ms. Terri helped me understand the best combination of services, both Ms. Rachaels facilitated our visits, Mr. Terry was great at doggy day care, and Trainer Terry even did a refresh training. In particular, Ms. Laurie and Mr. Michael were our angels, as they worked with me and the pet travel company, kept me posted regarding food, medicine, and treat needs, and helped me problem solve issues like getting him transported for health checks, and even finding a USDA approved Vet. We are truly grateful that Forest Shadows never gave up on our vocal uber-energetic GSD, and they were absolutely instrumental in helping us move our furkid overseas so he could be home with us. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND them and can attest to their level of commitment.

No 10 day deals, but there are 12 day deals that save a whopping $2/day!! I've never been more confused by price options! For goodness sakes! So how does the Paranoid Owner respond? May 10, 2025 "Scott, good try it's sad when a struggling competitor hires you trying to hit our Yelp rankings. I have reported this as Yelp is cracking down on twisted business practices like this. You intentionally twisted the $600 unlimited package which is $22-$26/day (we show the high end $26 on our marquee) and conveniently left that cost off your comparison comments. If I wanted to "Hit Yelp Ratings," anyone with half a brain would realize I would have given ONE star for the twisted advertising that omits the fact customers must pay $600.00 for an "Unlimited Package" to receive a $26.00/day deal.
