I have been going to this clinic for 10 years - four pets. Never had an issue until today. They refused to sell me flea medicine without an annual checkup. Which they told me it was in May and I didn't realize I missed one. The lobby was empty and they were okay with my animals suffering. I felt disrespected, like I was selling the meds on the black market or something. It's flea meds!! Tractor supply offers shots every Saturday with no problems. This was my first time visiting, and we were recommended this clinic & saw it had great reviews. I had an exam appointment for my Frenchie, Bandit, before we get him neutered. Dr. Lejeune felt comfortable making comments about his breathing and assessing him in a rather dismissive manner. From what I gathered, it sounds like she has something against bulldogs (as most vets typically do) but the commentary she was making was unprofessional and insensitive. I've owned a bulldog before, and already understand their stipulations, sensitivity to heat, and overall nature of the breed, but I felt very mansplained to by her educating me. If we didn't have to get him neutered, we probably will not be back. Otherwise, the pricing is good and the other staff members were friendly but Dr. Lejeune left a bad taste to me. read more

I had to put my dog Lucy to sleep last week here. I chose this location because they have been so nice and caring before when they evaluated her a couple months prior. When we got there, a guy in the front with green/blue(?) hair told me to wait. We waited in the lobby for 15 minutes crying about losing our dog while he talked and laughed with another worker. After being put into the room and had our dog sedated, he came in right before the euthanasia and asked if we wanted to settle the check right then. I was so distraught and baffled that he would come in as my dog was taking her final breaths and had her head in my lap. I can understand that every worker has to deal and see animals passing every day, but the lack of empathy really made me uncomfortable. He took my card, gave me the receipt, and said everything was settled a couple of minutes before Lucy passed. I love this clinic but I was extremely upset by the way this guy handled the situation. We could've paid in the lobby as we waited for 15 minutes. Thank you to our vet for being so kind when the procedure was done. read more

I took my 19 year old cat in because she was no longer using her litter box. The tech came in and nicely asked questions then took her back for the doctor to exam. Dr Lejeune came in and let me know what she suspected was wrong with her and she offered several options but basically she was old and her body was giving out. She assured me she would honor my choice and it was my decision. After taking her home our family decided not to let her to suffer. The kind direct advice from Dr Lejeune was so appreciated. The next day was the hardest day ever! The entire staff was kind, informative and incredibly humane. Thank you all for your kindness. It was such a hard decision. After several days we received a beautiful card from Cypress Animal Clinic. I was able to finally smile and not cry reading the card. Thank you Dr Lejeune and staff! Your all wonderful! read more

The day I was to leave town for work, I noticed Tex's right eye was pink, irritated and had more than the usual eye gunk. So on this Saturday night, with no animal clinics open, I turned to the Internet to diagnose him (don't do this at home, kids). For a week, he was treated with an eye cream and all was well - until today. With the rain, his eye was noticeably pink again, and he was gnawing at his paws a lot more than usual. So at 4pm, I called up Barker Cypress Animal Hospital, just around the neighborhood. Since they're open later on Wednesdays, they were able to take him that same day at 5:30. I know there was paperwork to be filled, so we arrived early to the strip mall center where it's located. With four people behind the counter having their own conversation, it took a while for them to even notice me standing there. Um, hello. Just walked through your door that buzzed. AHEM. BCAC has *very* small waiting room, so taming my wild child was a challenge with so many other pups in sight. And they didn't have any leash hooks on the counter to keep him set while I filled out forms. But aside from all this, all went smooth. We met with the vet tech for a short while to explain what was going on, Tex was weighed and treated well, and the vet listened to my concerns and answered my questions. Though, I didn't get her name 'til I looked at my bill. (Dr. Lejeune should also get her bio on the clinic website.) It turns out that Tex has allergies. She left me with a few options on treating him: continue the medication I was giving him for his eye and allow his feet to heal with time, or get a steroid shot to fix both problems. I appreciate that she didn't try to push for the more costly solution, nor did she recommend unnecessary lab tests. I opted for the shot, and that with the $20 vet fee, came out to less that $40. We're certainly not inside the loop anymore. (I've paid anywhere from $40-50 on vet fees alone at other inner city clinics.) They seem to have a great relationship with their current patients. I noticed a lot of regulars stop by for simple things like getting nails clipped or picking up special dietary food. Not a bad place to visit. They also care for cats, rabbits, ferrets and small "pocket pets." read more

My dogs have been patients of Dr. Lejeune for about 2 years now. At first, it was because she was highly rated in the area when I was living here, but even when I moved to the Montrose area in Houston, I still choose to drive a little over 30 miles so she can see my dogs. That's how much I trust her to care for my pups. Her prices are ridiculously affordable which is a bonus. There are times that I think I'm going to leave with a $500 bill for my emergency visit requiring blood tests, or fluid replacements, or ultrasounds or whatever other expensive sounding procedure, and both times they haven't reached that amount. My most recent visit wasn't even $150, and that was including 2 sets of meds. Her staff has always been amazing in handling my dogs too. Super friendly to both people and pets. They are usually always able to squeeze you in that same day for emergencies if you call early enough. I know my dog was extremely dehydrated, and they told me I could drop my dog when I called (8AM) to make an appointment (at 3PM) so the doc could take a look. The only thing is that sometimes the wait time is long especially when you're coming in the afternoon. But don't let that discourage you! Oh and also, Dr. corona sees dogs on Thursdays, which I was skeptical about, but she was also really good! read more

Cant say enough great things about Dr lejeune and her staff. our 2 rescue dogs and our 2 geriatric cats have received great care with her over the years. We are very sadly losing our last kitty who is 19. Dr Leguere has been compasionate,caring and informative of whats happening with our old girl with what to expect as her health deteriates and supportive of our descision and ptions. One of our large dogs are high energy and the staff are unphased at silliness and reluctance to leave me when we visit...of course due to Covid... the staff do curb side collection and return after a vist which has been great. The first time I brought my cat here I saw Dr. Lejuene. She was very knowledgeable & I thought I had found my new vet. However, I brought my cat back & saw Dr. Boone. My cat had a small bump on her chin. This "vet" was clueless as to what was going on with my cat & said that since she didn't know what it was, it should just be removed. Obviously, I would like a bit more info before I put my cat through surgery. I told Dr. Boone that I'm not putting my cat through that simply because she was clueless & I asked if there was anything else I could do. She said she could put a needle in it to see, but sometimes that gets an answer & sometimes it doesn't. Which I understand, but I wanted to know if there was more or less of a chance of finding something out with the needle. She said she didn't know. Then she said the needle would be so big that it would lance the small bump, but she'd do it anyway if I wanted her to! Ummmm, no thank you, I don't want you to cut my cats face with a needle! Any questions I asked she just repeated the same things & never gave me a solid answer. At that point I told her she seemed very unsure of herself so I still didn't know what to do. She said I could think about it. I've never been to a vet who was so clueless! So I told the front desk that I was unhappy with my visit, because the vet seemed very unsure of herself & I rescheduled to see Dr. Lejuene. They said they were going to charge me for both visits. I'm not paying double, because I need a second vet at the same clinic to offer the knowledgeable advice I came there for & didn't get from the first vet. Furthermore, to charge me again indicates that they take no responsibility for the poor service I received. I called several times, asking to speak to the owner. No one took my complaint seriously & there was no way of speaking to the owner, so everyone acted like they couldn't do anything about it. I never received so much as an apology. I can't believe no one at that clinic thinks that putting an animal through invasive surgery for no reason is a problem. Update: I left my number for the owner & I never received a call. I did however receive a letter saying that they could not continue care for my pet. Such an unethical business. They do not care about the quality of care they give to pets. The owner does not even address any problems her patients have. read more

Luv luv luv dependability and quality customer service!!! Came home from work to find my poor lil' (BIG) baby Luca's neck swollen from a cut he got the other nite rough housing with one of my girls. I panic while my husband recalls a clinic he's been to once before for, yet another one of our dogs. Quick call for a Saturday appointment found that, while they are ordinarily open, they wouldn't be because the doctors wouldn't be in. My husband explained our situation and they said to bring Luca in and they would see him (mind you, it's Friday evening 5:47 and the close at 6pm). My husband makes the visit and comes home very pleased, he says everyone was very helpful and loved on my Luca just enough. Total cost for the visit? $20 for exam, $12.50 for prescription antibiotics and $15 for shaving and cleaning of wound site. My baby comes home with a shaved neck (funny look for an 85lb. pitbull but getting him plenty of sympathy @ home) but he's happy and he has medicine to make him feel better and all this from start to finish, in less than an hour!!! This is just the most friendly group of staff at a veterinary office ever and they have really great hours! My dog recently got sick and I was able to get an appointment the same day, and like any dog parent I went into crazy worried mode. The staff here took every single one of my distress calls and told me not to worry, gave me tips on what to do until my appointment and listened to me freak out repeatedly. I arrived at my appointment, signed in and was immediately led into one of the patient rooms where Pamela, (the sweetest vet tech) started asking about what was going on, then proceeded to get body temp and weight. She took great care of my little girl and was constantly checking to make sure she wasn't distressed. My appointment was at 3:00 and I saw Dr. Lejeune not too long after. The wonderful thing about BCAC is that they don't rush their diagnosis, they sit and they listen to every little detail, take the necessary steps to ensure they're making the right diagnosis before formulating their treatment plans. Dr. Lejeune and her staff of vet technicians are all kind, friendly and really compassionate. You can tell how much they love their jobs and their love for helping animals. They offer affordable pricing and various treatment options, and never ever try to push anything on you. read more

I was impressed with this clinic as a whole. First what I liked: the woman I spoke with to schedule my appointment was super friendly on the phone and scheduling was easy. Dr Lejeune took her time in the room and made my dog feel at ease before getting to the exam. I thought the prices were on par with what I was used to paying before we moved. The not-as-great: I was shocked when I walked in by how small the waiting room is. Waiting with my medium-sized dog, around everyone else's lap dogs, made me uncomfortable because she took up so much room! It was made even worse by the wait past the appointment time, which I now know to expect because Dr. Lejeune doesn't rush when she's with you. Overall, I'll be going back mainly because of the care we received by the doctor. The bag of treats we were sent home with was nice too :) read more

I love this Veterinary clinic!! I was able to get an appointment for the next day for my sick dog after calling so many different clinics that kept telling me that they had a 1-2 week waiting period. When I got to the clinic everyone was so helpful and informative. The Vet is truly the best. She takes her time with every pet that is brought in. I believe she spent a good amount of time explaining what my dog had, how to treat it, and his medicine. You can tell she truly cares about helping, rather than just making money. The office staff is pleasant and until recently we have had no issues with the care, but the wait times are very long and unfortunately tapeworms were missed twice despite fecal samples being taken.
