There are also some friendly farm animals the kids can look at and pet, plus a plastic duck race that you have to pay for a duck to use. There are lots of food vendors with delicious options, I def recommend the baked potato... it's HUGE! The pumpkin patch itself is nice but if you're not in the mood to go hunting through the fields, they also have bins full of pumpkins ready to choose from. There was even a live performance, a bounce house, and a giant inflatable slide.. which is a hit with the kids as well! The orchards are beautiful and perfect for taking fall family pictures. They also have a store, they sell some amazing desserts! Service in the stores is great, they can get really busy, so there can be lines at times.

They have sweet organic apples of different varieties. But the best thing about this place are owners Sandy and John. Easily the sweetest and humblest people you'll ever meet. They have been doing and sharing their farm to the community for years. This is a family/kid-friendly place as they encourage and welcome families and schools for tours and u-picks. Sandy offered us some of the zucchini that didn't get picked that were grown there. I really wish we had more time and didn't have to drive back to Seattle so we could look around because apparently they sell apple cider as well. My husband and I made it a tradition to pick apples during fall and now we know where we'll go every year.

But the picking was still very good and the fragrance and taste can't be beat! We wrote down how much we picked in their log book and paid by honor system. It was such a lovely, small town, family-ran farm and much more pleasant than the commercialism that has taken over Greenbluff in the past decade or two. I am so happy to have found (technically 2) local farms close by and I don't have to drive over state borders

Cherry hill is a must for us in the summer…read more There are quite a few places that feature pick your own cherries in Green Bluff, but Cherry Hill stands out for a couple of reasons. I love that they have a big barn with cute farmhouse chic items for sale. This is super inviting. The staff has always been eager to educate you on proper ways to pick cherries, how to find the best ones and any information you care to know. The steady ladders spread throughout the orchard make picking a breeze. There are fun cutouts for photo ops, lots of beautiful places that are insta-worthy. Speaking of Instagram, they have a beautiful Instagram account to follow as well. Make sure to stop by for the best raspberries and peaches on the bluff, too!

We picked enough peaches to fill the bottom layer full and some on top of that layer in each box. When we checked out... we placed about a dozen plums in a paper bag to purchase also. $105+ WE WILL NOT RETURN TO CHERRY HILL ORCHARD FOR OUR FRUIT. We have friends that bought many more boxes of peaches than we did, that they did not pick themselves... and they paid much less. We are switching to a more fair priced orchard.

As for Greenbluff, I dont get there too often, but I have always have a good time when I go there. I've been to the Apple Cider celebration. I had a good time too. The apples they raise there are just wonderful. I went to the peach festival too, and had a wonderful time. I think Greenbluff is a wonderful and productive area for Spokane.

She recommended that we come back on a Tuesday morning for the most matured produce that's fresh picked (the farmer picks things on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who took us out back and began to explain his growing techniques. I Love that he was playing music for his plants and his farm was so peaceful and beautiful and you can really taste the love he gives his plants. He explained how he works on planting companion flowers with his vegetables to keep the pests away and I thought that was an amazing natural way. We were then showed around by one of his helpers who was very helpful and nice (can't remember her name but she was awesome) The veggies we bought were the best I've ever had and we will definitely be going back again soon and all season long.

They charge by the pound and you self-pay using cash. I've also occasionally seen some checks in the money box. They provide everything you need. It's great for all ages and a great way to get up close with, pet and learn about a variety of animals. They regularly get new animals so it's always nice to revisit and see what's new. They always have staff monitoring the animals and cleaning up after them to keep the enclosures clean and tidy. The owner, Janine, is incredibly friendly, welcoming and hospitable. The prices are very reasonable and annual memberships are available that include animal feed with every visit (or feed can be purchased individually). If you enter the main enclosure with food, be prepared to be swarmed! Some of the most notable features of Big Reds is you can hold a giant boa constrictor, pet baby goats, see a Bird Eater spider (one of the largest breeds of spider in existence), see land otters, ferrets, baby wallabies, pigs, cockatoos and the always personable Elroy the Llama. Some of the animals are only available for a limited time so it's a good idea to check in regularly to see which animals are around. Some of the animals are sourced from people in the community and they visit Big Red's to socialize with people and other animals. It's a great cause, a lot of fun, and a well run, clean, establishment at an affordable price. I highly recommend a visit and supporting this business.
