Amazing staff and very welcoming shop. They are extremely pet friendly which was a relief after road-tripping with our dog. This is the closest auto repair to the Chesapeake House rest stop on I-95, and boy did these folks save the day for me. If you get a flat tire they will have you fixed up in a jiffy. Picture this-- you're driving a rental car from DC to Delaware. It's pouring rain, your tire light is on, and the car starts driving oddly. I figure, oh, here's a rest stop just ahead, I'll pull in and get it looked at. Well, I get there, and I realize I've got a flat tire. And all there is at this rest stop is a gas station and fast food. Nobody there can do any repairs. Luckily, the clerk vaguely remembers a repair shop at the next exit. Filling up the tire with air and crossing my fingers that it lasts the short trip, I take the exit and drive until I see Foster's on the left. It was lunchtime on Friday but they were able to take me right away. Sara at the desk just seems to be the kind of person who's got it together and can keep clients at ease. Turns out there was a hole in the tire. Jerry put in a simple plug, which was more than enough to get me to Delaware and back to DC. The damage? Just $20. I was in and out in less than half an hour. Chances are I won't need their services again anytime soon, because I don't own my own car. But I was glad to support a small business and they did a great job. read more

I've been an automotive service consultant my entire adult life and I've always had my own trusted technicians work on my car. I've never been on the other side of the service desk. We recently moved to Maryland and had to have the strict state inspection done to both cars. I have to say that I was really nervous. I maintain both vehicles meticulously but I've heard horror stories about the Maryland inspection and I expected them to find anything they could to fail me. I was so pleasantly surprised to have gotten the call about both vehicles passing (after I had them remove the obviously not legal brow tint). They even found one brake light that was not properly connected and secured it at no charge. Super friendly staff and great communication. Kudos to Crouch for taking such good care of my vehicles. My boyfriend and I moved to North East a month ago from NYC and needed vehicles and inspection, etc and basically just went to the first place we found. Since I'm the one in the relationship with a flexible schedule I was put in charge of these things. Chose Foster's for these needs and have been nothing but thrilled. They offer early morning "wait appointments" where one can just hang out in their lobby while your car is being worked on. I've been here three times now and have never waited more than an hour. Yes, that sounds like a long time but their receptionist/awesome person, Sara is so darn pleasant that it's actually kind of fun. I never mind coming here because everyone is so nice. I've come to realize that Maryland inspection is pretty intense but I've never felt over-charged. Hooray Foster's! read more

While traveling from Baltimore to NJ on 3/6/17, we experienced severe acceleration and misfires while on the interstate, stopped at a nearby Maryland I-95 rest stop. Fortunately I met 4 Maryland state troopers who when told of our our situation immediately recommended Fosters Auto repair whom they said also serviced their cars, as well. Fortunately they were only a couple of miles away. We got there and the guys at Fosters immediately stopped what they were doing and made significant efforts to get us back on our way, for which we were most appreciative as we made it home to northern NJ without further problems. They deserve a well earned shout out and thank you. Nice competent and honest people. fosters advertises it's quality and customer care and that it is different in that regard. I've been to them twice. The first time they quoted me a price to replace a part. It seemed really high, so I got an estimate elsewhere, and the other garage did it for half the price. the second time I discovered that the simple oil change seems to come with a $19 fee to check the car over. The job was finished later than promised, and not even a "sorry for the delay." This is a very expensive place where it's not at all obvious what you're getting for the money. read more

I took my truck there with a rattling in engine when the ac was on. TOLD them to also change the resistor on the fan motor (only worked on high). After several calls from them saying they couldn't find problem, the finally just installed some parts to hopefully fix it. When I went to pick it up, I was charged an additional $68 for them to "diagnose" that the resistor on the fan motor was bad. Plus pay for parts and labor which DID NOT fix anything. Pulled out of the shop with the same rattling noise. If it weren't for me needing my truck after three days I would of left it there. First impression of the place was not good. It seems they just put parts on at your expense till the problem is fixed. I know if I asked for my money back I would be wasting my time again. Lesson learned. Will take it to a mechanic that will fix the issue, not just take wild chances. Over $300 spent for nothing! read more
