I am by no means a disgruntled customer. I understand how this works. But being screwed is another story. i have a 2017 ford edge with about 66,000 miles on it. I have an after market bumper to bumper warranty with a $100 deductible. Took vehicle in for an intermittent blower motor July 2019. They said it was resistor and replaced. Charged me $100. Fine. Picked vehicle up after hours and paid. Went 1/4 mile same problem. I was told Problem appeared intermittent which makes it difficult to diagnosis. I get that part. I asked about getting charged another $100. Was told if it was a different issue, YES. Apparenlty it is a different issue because it wasnt fixed the first time. Left vehicle again with note indicating above. Could not duplicate problem. Was told to drive it there when problem occured. AC wasnt blowing at all now or heat for that matter. Nothing. Took back today, Sept. 16. They went out of their way to look at it since the problem was happening at the moment. Was told it was blower motor. They did not have one in stock. I asked about being charged again. $100 please. Had a long discussion with Chuck and his boss. Said they were not going to eat the $100. Neither was I since it should have been fixed the first time. Got in vehicle to leave without having them repair it, AC was blowing great. Called Chucks boss over to witness. Was about to be charged $100 for a blower motor which was not the problem. I told him bringing vehicle in for repair several times is a nuisance, but paying $100 each time for a part that is not broken IS the problem. Truck started running rough. Was told by the service dept. that one cylinder head was completely destroyed and the other one was likely the same, and they were pretty sure their was a crack in the cylinder wall. Unknown to them I know my way around the internal combustion engine fairly well. As soon as I questioned them about the crack they immediately backed off. That they showed me the cylinder head that was " completely destroyed" and I really didn't see it as all that bad. I took the head to a machine shop. Long story short 1 - $12 exhaust valve and all was well. They insisted we needed an entire new engine for $5000 plus. A critter had chewed a wire causing the fuel system to run lean and over heated one valve. Crouse fords service department is 100% dishonest. This was not a mis diagnosis by a tech. I asked direct pointed questions and was absolutely lied to. Find somewhere else to take your vehicle. read more
