Found this boutique on yelp and since I was in town for some apple pie I made sure to check out this shop. The owner Sonja makes most of the handmade items herself and you'll find all sorts of goodies for your home and body. I ended up purchasing a few of her skincare items because they're natural & organic. Let me tell you about the bath fizzies! I used it the same day I purchased it because it smelled absolutely incredible. Made with sweet almond oil, organic lavender essential oil, ylang ylang and sweet orange. Left my skin literally glowing! Also took home the Sexxy massage oil, an aphrodisiac blend of Australian sandalwood, jasmine, cinnamon & patchouli. Your body will thank you. The tiny shop itself is located in the heart of Julian which is a historical mining town dating back to the 1870's. This charming shop was once a horse stable. When visiting Julian, I had expected more local artisan shops that sold unique items, but didn't find that to be the case. There are some cool shops, but for the most part they sell a lot of things you can find anywhere. Thankfully, there is the Crow and Lilac Gallery and Boutique! Whether you're looking for soups, lotions, candles, clothing, jewelry, pottery or various types of artwork in all different styles, this shop has it hand made by it's owner. While they do have some things by other artists, the items are overwhelmingly created by the shop's owner... and it is AMAZING to see how one enormously talented woman can create so many diversely different things. Even her art style is amazingly diverse to the point where you really think separate artworks are made by different artists. She had these amazing wall vases made of pottery that were simply amazing. Full disclosure... this shop isn't huge... but for it's size, you'll be in there longer than you would any other boutique this size as her items are so interesting and unique. I don't know about you... but when I go for a weekend getaway or vacation, I don't want to buy something that I can get down the road from where I live. I want to look at unique items you can only get in the place you're visiting, and this is one of the few places in Julian that you're going to get that. Love, love, loved this little gem in Julian! Homemade natural beauty products are my addiction. This rustic store had all sorts of goodies that I wanted to buy! I couldn't decide between the homemade scrubs, sprays lotions and soaps. There was so much I loved. However one special thing caught my eye and I could not leave this store without it. I bought a handmade bracelet essential oil diffuser made with lava and Jade beads. I absolutely loved the idea of being able to carry around the smell of my favorite essential oils in such a cute and convenient way! So happy with my purchase and so glad I found this little shop! I have fallen in love with this beautiful store. My daughters and I suffer from extremely dry skin and exema. We have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on expensive medicated lotions and nothing has helped us. The lavender lotion we bought was a miracle. It is thick and made with all natural ingredients. It actually sinks into our skin. I also bought a bar of the painted desert soap. I was taken by the scent. It actually smells like the desert after the rain. I have not been able to use soap for awhile because it is too drying. Not this soap! Amazing! I work in a field where I can not use scents that are overpowering. The lotion and the soap are subtle enough where I do not have to worry about it. The store is genuine too. It isn't a tourist trap. It is a great place to buy unique gifts. read more

i went in there looking for some products w/ lilacs.. their name is Crow and Lilac. and julian area grows lilacs. lilacs don't grow in san diego as we do not have a cold enough winter here. the store had no lilac products. not even a lilac bar of soap. i can buy lavender fragrance anywhere. if the name of your store has Lilac in it, I'm thinking you should always carry lilac products. there were plenty other stores in the town who also had homemade soap and lotions. lilacs bloom every April/May in julian for a brief period of time. i was in Santa Isabel to buy lilacs this year. i should have bought soap from the stand where i bought my lilacs. read more

Check out this little shop in the center of town! SMELLS delicious and Sonja (owner) creates all of the oils, lotions, soaps, and art pieces. A great place with reasonable prices, pick up some things to pamper yourself or gifts for others. Today I bought some face oil- it is natural, luxurios, and not greasy. A mini spa treatment for me each time I put it on, it was only $15 for a nice sized bottle. Buy local and enjoy. read more
