I have lived most of my life outside of the AV, so I'm very unfamiliar with a lot of the businesses in the area. I had no idea where to go for a my newest tattoo. I had specific requirements on what I wanted and was skeptical that I would find the right artist. I went to 5 other shops in the AV before I came here. Everyone else either didn't seem like they were very confident in doing what I was looking for or weren't very welcoming. It only took a very short time once I walked in this shop until I knew that this was the right place. The owner Dan couldn't get me in right away but coordinated through various texts and conversations with me until the pattern was perfect. He spent the whole day on me alone and now, I have 2 amazing 3/4 sleeve tattoos that wrap onto my chest that I couldn't be more pleased with. I personally think I was undercharged (I went in the following day to give an additional $100 and he refused to take it!) If you're looking for top quality art in a relaxed, welcoming environment with some great personalities, this is the place to go. As to the previous poster complaining about the price for a small, simple tattoo, they likely don't understand that it is common to have shop minimums. You are not only paying for the tattoo but you are also paying for equipment that is not able to be reused due to sterility issues, the creation of templates, etc. I think it's a shame that this individual chose to lash out at some good people just because they couldn't get something for nothing. read more

I have gotten almost all of my work done here with Dan (owner) and he is amazing!! The time he puts into designing my tattoo art work is more than appreciated. I trust his opinion and he has not failed me yet!! The shop atmosphere is awesome and all of the artists are amazing!!! I have seen work from each of them and would be more than willing to have any of them do my work. The prices are MORE than reasonable with a $60 minimum... considering most tattoo shops have a minimum of $100-$150 regardless of how small the work is, I have to say that is a steal!! I have a very small (approximately an inch around) angelic Zibu symbol on the back of my neck that took approximately 10-15 minutes to complete (set up time included) and paid $115 at another shop!! (NEVER again!!) With the quality of their work coupled with affordable prices, I will NEVER go anywhere else!! EVER!! read more

These artists are the Top Shelf! I get a couple of tattoos from Vinstro every year on principle. His dot work is fire, his traditional is always a welcome addition to my collection, and when he has new flash my initial reaction is to find a spot for it. I'll be seeing you soon (again). I have spent over 24 hours in a chair with Bones. It all starting as quick walk-in for a single design, by the end we planned a full-sleeve. I was so pumped on his work the first day I left with 2 tattoos (true story). He's laid down over an arm of work on me that gets complimented daily. Dan threw down a couple designs on me, both some of my personal favorites, and both executed with precision and accuracy. Miranda gets down, as do Aaron and Charlie. Absolutely one of the best tattoo places in the AV. Incredibly reasonable on pricing and very dedicated artists. Dan is my go to and is one of the nicest people you will meet. Him and the other artists put so much work into the tattoos and always make sure I get what I want. They know what makes a good tattoo and will help you form ideas into amazing pieces. I came to their Halloween weekend special/event and everyone at the shop was so kind and attentive. Extremely easy to talk to I didn't feel uncomfortable at all and I have been to several other shops in the past. Since it was a special you choose from the flash and it's first come first serve. As a newcomer to tats, I had a great experience at C&D. Walked in with my parents on a Friday night and got one done by Dan. Came back less than a week later to get two more, both of which Dan designed himself in about five minutes. All of the artists in the shop are super talented and chill. Been coming here all year to work on my half sleeves. Dan has priced fairly and done incredible work. I recommend them to anyone not wanting to drive to LA and pay double for worse quality than Dan and his crew can provide. My husband has also gotten some incredible color work from Dan.
