I went in about a year ago to get a consultation on a belly button piercing after I had another shop in the bay say I didn't have the right anatomy. I was able to get it done very quickly and it was painless. The piercing has healed nicely and definitely thinking about going in to get another one soon! Piercer was not very well acquainted with piercings as I bled for about 15 mins and had to be in close in observance after. Like night and day. Swift, easy, and with tiny pain. Got two peircings from there, a industrial and a septum and the industrial healed PERFECTLY, all I did was clean it with water and it looks seamless. It only took 1 1/2 month to heal. He uses a small needle to the point where It doesn't hurt at all, from the time he pierces it to the time you leave. I recently got my septum and its healing perfectly, It didn't bleed when he pierced it and it hasn't bled at all. The piercing looks so good. The piercer is so friendly and professional and he gets the job done fast. Both piercings only took about 15 mins including prep. I went to get a piercing with my sister. They said they close at 7pm I was here at 6pm. The guy had just closed and we talked. He was asking a lot of questions questions about my sister since she was a minor. The parent the was and we had everything. I was excepting him to be like ohh okay come in, but no he said ohh well I just closed. No apologies, he had that something came up. We just left. Make sure to call before you stop by. He also did an infinity tattoo on my husbands arm and a faith, hope love sign and they also came out perfect. Today he brought to life a previous tattoo I had done at another shop. He shaded it to perfection and it looks like a completely different tattoo. Now it looks like a piece of art. Got my tongue pierced in October of 2018 here and there were no problems but in Jan 2019 I requested proof that I received a piercing from a licensed piercer And I was told they weren't going to go out of their way to look for the file I signed that day and there was nothing they could do. This is a disgusting way to handle clients and I will NEVER give my money to this establishment ever again ! My question to the very rude man on the phone was "Does this man even have a license?!" You would think if so there would be no problem providing proof and I asked for any proof in any way that he has a license no need for the actual paper since it had been "filed away" and STILL they couldn't offer me any help at all! I had the most unprofessional, negative experience when I went to Pokerz. My friend and I went in for nipple piercings. I was only getting one done, my friend was getting both done. The piercer did not discuss any parts of how the procedure would go, what jewelry he was going to use, what metal it was made out of, the size, the gauge, or anything before going ahead and doing it. I should have known something was up when I saw how inexpensive the cost was, and how it didn't include any costs of jewelry. He did my friend's first, and she warned him that she had a history of passing out after getting piercings done. After he pierced her, he told her to go sit and wait in the other room while he did mine. While she was waiting, she almost passed out multiple times and neither he or anyone else on staff showed any concern or tried to help. Then he did mine. Didn't show me the jewelry beforehand or anything. It was super quick, which some might say is a good thing, but it felt rushed and sloppy. It also hurt way more than I remembered my other nipple piercing hurting, which was done by someone else years ago. I looked down after the piercing was done and noticed something looked off. I first noticed that the bar was WAY too long, even for the purpose of leaving room for swelling. I also noticed that the skin didn't look right on the side where the needle's exit point was. I asked why it looked like that and if there was a problem. The piercer said, "Nah, that's normal, it only looks like that because I pierced it slightly lower than where the marker was." I thought it was strange but decided to trust him, since he had told us about his extensive experience as a piercer. My friend and I go to leave, and she can barely stand because of how lightheaded she was feeling. The staff members just told me, "Go get her a candy bar or something down the street," and ushered us out. I've never before seen behavior like that in a tattoo and piercing studio. As our new piercings were healing in the following days, I noticed mine had an unusual bump on it, on the side where it first looked strange. My friend's piercings also developed scabs within the first few days, which was unusual as well. We were scared about what might be wrong, so we tried calling and messaging Pokerz to see if anyone could help or give advice. They never answered our calls or messages, and never called back. It was like they were closed (which they should have been, due to covid). We ended up having to travel to an entire different county altogether just to find a reputable piercer that could assess our situations. What we ended up finding out is that the reason mine looked so off is because the piercer at Pokerz pierced through my AREOLA. I had to take it out and wait for it to heal so I could get it repierced by someone legit. We also found out that Pokerz does not crush their needles, so the needle drag is maximized, hence why my friend had scabs on her exit points and why our piercings were so much more painful than necessary. I am so extremely disappointed in the experience I had at Pokerz and I can't believe there are as many good reviews are there are. I thought I could trust the people there, and ended up wasting my money. I wish I could get a refund but the piercer there only takes cash or venmo, probably for that exact reason. I'm not big on leaving reviews, but I was convinced that Pokerz was professional and trustworthy after seeing so many great reviews and I just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. read more
