It was about a 20-minute walk from my house to Crystal Dental Care. At the office, I handed over my ID and insurance card, then completed the paperwork. The dental assistant finally called my name. I followed her to the exam room, where she took some X-rays. Dr. Fang greeted me and answered my question about my crown. They're dishonest and look for things you don't have in order to charge you exorbitant prices. I came here to get my teeth treated. The dentist seemed hesitant in his diagnosis, and the hygienist was even worse. I don't have the best teeth, but I do maintain good daily hygiene. The hygienist recommended a deep cleaning because I had tartar and plaque. The cleaning cost $795. Then the supposed budget coordinator arrived, and the treatment for my teeth would cost $12,185. At another place in the same area, the treatment would have cost me $5,533. Even so, I paid half the cleaning, $395, to start, and they only cleaned half of my mouth, on the right side, both upper and lower. During the week, I got two second opinions from other dentists and called dental insurance companies and plans. The result: I have no plaque, no tartar, and a cleaning wasn't necessary right now. I had a broken tooth, and these dishonest people at Gentle Dental wanted to put a crown on me for $3,050. The other two dentists recommended the following: you have 70% of your tooth still good; it's best to preserve it by getting a filling that, with care, will last and keep part of your natural tooth. Think a thousand times before going to Gentle Dental. I recommend Corbin Dental Bayside. Back then it was just Dr. Lee, a dental assistant and a receptionist. I'm glad to see these days that he has more staff, including a hygienist, which is a reflection of his growth from being a great dentist. His office is really good on calling to remind me to set up appointments for cleanings so one less thing to worry about. Procedure wise I've had cavities filled, root canals done, crowns put in, and wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee. I've referred family and friends to Dr. Lee and they have all stayed.
