We agreed on a price and I expressed a tight timeframe. He forecasted one week. After a week the job seemed to be moving much more slowly and he seem to be nowhere near done and he began not showing up is when I knew I was in trouble. He finally limped along and at the end of three weeks he considered the job done with the exception of the three doors which were on back order. He asked me to pay him and that he would finish the doors when they came in. I had a multitude of other outstanding issues which he said he would take care of between now and the door installation. I believed him and gave him full payment with holding the cost for the door installs. After tons of calls and texts explaining that he left a huge safety issue in my electrical because every time the dryer ran it flipped the breaker and turned all electricity off in our house he said day after day he would come to fix it however he never did. After 2 1/2 weeks we finally hired another electrician to fix the issue. Additionally I had totaled up the costs I had gotten from other bids to fix his work and told him it was going to be $2100 in fixes and completions. He refused to finish the work or show up when he said he was going to finally show up. If I could give him zero stars I would he did poor work never finished the job and should be paying me $2100 for monies I have to spend to fix the poor job he did. I do not recommend. All in all he wired the electrical wrong, in the shower he made the hot where the cold should go in the cold where the hot should go, he left open sheet rock in our linen closet, he didn't sand after he caulked baseboard nails, did a horrible job with wall repair, didn't finish the flooring where the door goes, Regrout of entire shower required due to the grout looking like it's multiple colors and poor job in general, complete rewiring of all of the electrical.

Even though the material was intact, pristine and clean. Eventually the owner accepted the material but at half the price. Afterwards I learn that it was illegal according to the California Consumer Rights Civil Code section 1723, which states that merchandise could be returned less than 30 days. I would not recommend ANYONE to purchase from a store that does illegal activity towards the customer. I think it outrageous that establishments like Adobe lumber operate illegally.
