Every time I walk into the store the employees are right there asking to help me find what I need. The customer service is a treat when you are used to the laissez-faire attitude you get from employees at home depot or lowes. The prices for lumber are decent, and they walk you through not just what you think you want, but what is best for your application, simply because the yard workers and management know their stuff. Way better than a guy pointing at aisle 42 and walking away. For me, there is always the "I can get it cheaper online" argument, but the service the employees give here, and their desire to help out makes it worth the trip in. If I had any negatives to say about the store it would be that they dont carry some exotic lumber. But they will be quick to tell you that they can order some for you. I havent taken them up on this yet, but I may do so in the near future. read more

Quality with great customer service. Highly recommend this place ! Also the return process was very easy for all fencing i didn't use.

I just called at 3pm. Unknowing the hours of operation and the man hangs up on me. I call back he answers the phone again and says it's 3 o'clock and hangs up on me again. I then assumed they were closing. But was very rude, could have just told me sorry we are closed. Shoot how bout let the machine answer the phone.. so unprofessional. Came to the lumberyard to buy two 8 feet pieces of wood for a base mold. The woman who was working front desk sold me 16ft of the correct wood, however the gentleman who cut the wood gave me the wrong piece. After spending an hour returning to the store, I was told they would have to special order and wait a week. A week later I am here and have been waiting 30 minutes just for someone to make one cut on a piece of wood. Just seems ridiculous and the employees are all aloof. Save yourself some time to go to another lumberyard, these guys sucks ass. read more

We had to replace some of the siding on our house. Started at Lowe's. Had a terrible time finding help (big surprise) and when we did find the lumber, they wouldn't cut the long pieces for us. Told the manager we'd go elsewhere, and his response was "fine". So we went to Meek's. The guy was super helpful, found what we needed, and they cut the pieces for us ($1 per cut). Next time we'll head straight here instead of wasting our time at Lowe's. read more

This is the most racist hardware store ever! I had a feeling when I walked in and saw no African American employees. When I went to purchase cabinets they did not want to give me a price because they had a relationship with the white contractor who was trying to gouge me for more money than the insurance paid me! Victoria and her manager are the absolute worst, with the manager not wanting to give me the District Managers phone number! I will never, ever suggest anyone shop here, especially if you are a person of color. read more

I understand that due to COVID-19 you're not fully staff. My husband and I came into the store to to get help with decking materials on Friday 8, 2021 . There was 1 clerk at the desk helping someone, not once did the clerk acknowledge us. We waited and another worker came from the back on the phone, once he was off he walked passed us saying nothing at all. The worker came back out and said something to the clerk at the counter, but turn his back against us(seem like he did not want our business). My husband got very upset and say that we will give our business to another company. I have been told that Meek is the place to go if you need any kind of lumber and how friendly the staff is. Well we did not get that experience at all, and being of color I feel some kind of way. read more

I will never go back to Lowes or Home Depot for lumber again. Meeks has much better quality and prices, and their customer service is hands down better then Lowes or HD. I placed a call ahead order a few days prior to when I needed a load of lumber, on the pick up day I went inside, paid, got my truck loaded and was out of there in about ten minutes. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and quick. Try finding that at the other two hardware stores! Although they don't have as big a selection when it comes to nuts and bots as other store, and its a little more expensive, their lumber selection is much better and a higher quality. What a wast of time! I went there to get the cheapest wood I could use for shelves in my garage. I got 2 and they cut them the wrong length which's didn't notice until I got home so I go back and they cut 2 more for me but don't tell me they didn't have the same wood that was $21 so they said that it's going to be more so I said ok I'll pay the difference so I go inside and the difference was $40 ($60 all together)so I just returned the wood and wasted about 2 hours all said and done. We had a great experience with Meeks. Very friendly and easy to work with, much nicer than Home Depot and it feels good to work with a smaller family-owned company. Good pricing, plus they delivered our order and the delivery guy was great. Will definitely do business with them again. read more

I went in recently looking for a new front door lockset. I have lived here for 25 years and had no idea this place even sold anything other than lumber. But I happened to be leaving Costco and had some extra time. Boy am I glad I went in there! Before I even entered the store, the manager offered me a shopping cart. When I went into the store, the clerk at the counter immediately asked if I needed help and led me right where I needed to go. She also offered me a cup of coffee (fresh AND delicious!) and some salt water taffy. As I was paying...I told her how much I loved salt water taffy. She even packed up a VERY generous sized bag of the taffy for me to eat on the way home. I left the store looking forward to the next time I get to shop there. If I could give no stars I would. Our remodeling projects so far have been a disaster. We still have a kitchen to do. 2/3 is a crappy success ratio. For the money spent, $ 30,000 plus, the projects should have been flawless. When you buy a 35k car it does not come with holes, mis measurements , combative customer service, or excuses for shoddy workmanship. This is exactly what happened with Meeks. My $120.00 Rc car kit is flawless. WTF? The trouble Meeks agents have caused is inexcusable. A company representative came out to see the flawed items we have come across so far, but we all felt we got dazzled with BS. Products should be right at the monies charged and paid promptly by us to just have problems swept under the rug like "This normal in this business'. Telling us to patch a hole in a tall cabinet caused at/ in factory/shipping to our house? R u kidding? Total BS. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT INCOMPETENCE!!!! In this day and age with so many competent unemployed people, you would think these people at Meeks should have their employment reconsidered with job results like we have experienced. After all who is the customer, who paid who, and who made a paycheck off our spending at Meeks. read more

I purchased French doors from meeks. They screwed up the order and sent the wrong doors. They also recommended the contractor to install the doors. They offered a discount if I would accept the doors even though it opened in the opposite direction then what I ordered. BIG Mistake. The contractor did shabby work. There were flaws in the installation and materials. Both Meeks and the contractor refused to accept responsibility. I got stuck with junky doors and shabby installation. I would not recommend ever buying anything from Meeks since they obviously don't warranty anything. read more

Wow where do I begin? My mother purchased cabinets for her bathroom,closet and kitchen. Since the cabinets arrived we had nothing but problems. The bathroom is now down and so is the closet. The kitchen has been started and so any cabinets are wrong. Two different cabinets have needed to be reordered because of wrong size cabinets shipped and wrong drawers. Apparently Welborn the maker of the cabinets believes that parts of the cabinet where the fridge goes does not need to be finished even though you can see behind the back of the fridge. So now we are two weeks behind schedule. On Friday afternoon I opened some cabinets that will above the table to the side and the bottom of the cabinets are not finished either. What is wrong with these people. The rep. for Welborn was here the week after the cabinets showed up to show him just one of the issues. It wast like talking to a used car salesman. He said that some of the issues were to be expected in shipping. WHAT? I would never use them again. The cabinets are not real wood either. read more
