Unfortunately the man that helped me with the large raven ring kept insinuating what I can and cannot afford, essentially insinuating multiple times that Im broke. I would've been interested. Tell your people not to size people up that they don't know. I'm very offended. I will restate as another reviewer stated that they breathe down your neck the entire time you're in the store...I told this freak MULTIPLE TIMES I'm just trying to browse, that I'm shopping for multiple ppl, etc....then, that started to make me feel like not only does he think I'm poor, he thinks I'm a thief. I have spent thousands here and sold jewelry here, I collect very rare and very valuable gems and minerals. I have contacts all over the world- until you improve your service, you won't be one of them. I didn't enjoy his company. Every once in a while, I get inspired to clean out my garage. This is a purge of stuff that I no longer need. In one of my boxes of childhood mementos I found lots of old coins. Some buffalo nickels, silver dimes, and wheatie pennies, along with some silver dollars, quarters, and tons of pennies. I even found some foreign coins too. Well, where do you think I went? Great service from all the staff here! I'm one of those people who actually don't like in person browsing/shopping as I usually find it uncomfortable dealing with sales people or people who follow you around the store. I had a chance to stop by Crown Jewels a couple of times and it could be a bit busy, especially pre-holidays season. Nevertheless, the staff was on top of the game. They made sure they acknowledged you, knew if they could help you with anything...and really spent time making you feel comfortable. I went to Crown Jewels because I had a high end jewelry (luxurious watch that I no longer want to be liable for...because I never wore it) that I wanted to sell and wanted to know the price I could get. They were super helpful and were really polite about telling me what the process was like and what they thought they could get me. Ethan and other staff were helping me out giving me quotes for my jewelries. At the end, I ended up selling my watch with them and the process was pretty smooth and, after verification of an item's authenticity, I got paid for it pretty painlessly. If I were ever look for jewelries again in ABQ, I would definitely take into consideration the options they got at Crown Jewels. Not thrilled. They offered me $215 for a platinum and diamond ring. When I requested an improved price, they stated that the steep discount was because the item was "used". As if used jewelry is UNIQUE in a pawn shop. They offered me melt price for a sapphire and diamond ring that had an appraisal of $2800. read more

I came into this store simply to ask about some silver coins whether they were real or not. Not once did I assume or suggest that I wanted to sell them. The young man helping me was super polite and nice he even used the machine to make sure, however towards the end of our interaction the store Manager Earl felt the need to butt into our business without really knowing what we were doing and assumed that we were trying to sell them. That is when he very loudly in front of the entire store and other customers said, "those are counterfeit", "that's illegal". Not once did we even say we were gunna sell these and he felt the need to embarrass us in front of the entire store and other employees. It wasn't needed and very unnecessary. He was very white and rude as a minority I don't appreciate this kinda treatment in any business especially when we just wanted to confirm the coins we had brought were in fact fake. Never coming here again. I hope people are able to not judge people by their covers and understand that not everyone is trying to do bad things. read more

As a part of the elite squad I got to go to Crown Jewels Coin for our perks: jewelry shinning. I am happy to see that they moved the jewelers to the back of the building, therefore minimizing exposure of folks in the store. As a disabled human, one little change can mean life or death. They also had uniform masks that everyone was wearing properly. There were no folks refusing masks. I cannot conjure the words to express how happy I am they take reviews into consideration and moved the extra staff into the back & masks were worn by all to be cognizant of COVID. This is a true "thank you for your service" to this disabled vet. I got the same staff member. She is amazing. I cannot say enough about her. She took her time in getting me a detailed explanation of what was going on with my ring that holds my best friends ashes. She was very caring and considerate of me, my grief, and rather than just sell me on something she educated me on my options. On top of that, they shined a pretty difficult ring of mine to a glow I haven't seen in 10 years. I ended up leaving one of my most beloved rings with them to fix a crack in the onyx that reminded me of a bad time in my life. She gave me a realistic timeframe to expect it, with absolutely reasonable cost. As I stated before the quality of products in the store are amazing. When you walk in it's instant BLING! The staff is not pretentious like some big-box stores, and I know this from a lot of experience in jewelry purchases. 10/10 would recommend this small business for ALL your jewelry needs. Side note, regarding the humanity of the store that I think is worthy to document as someone with both an MSW and an MBA: While I was there someone who was obviously ill (wearing a Burger King Crown and spray painted in gold-- his shirt/pants/body) entered and wanted help buying jewelry. The staff did not hesitate. They tended to him with the upmost respect. Other places would escort someone like this out to make others feel safe, usually causing an unsafe situation, however they actually made me feel safer by handling this situation by placing staff with the man, allowing him to look at merchandise, earnestly answering his questions, and generally entertaining him as a human. When someone is in crisis-- which his dress, vocal level, hygiene, and mannerisms indicated he was in be it mental or illicit drug driven-- "othering" them can make matters worse, and make an actual scary situation. They treated him like any other customer. Answered his questions. Showed him jewelry. THIS IS A BUSINESS THAT RESPECTS HUMANS. I was beyond elated to see a business with high cost products at stake act humanely. I've seen gas stations act in egregious manners in this regard. This is something ALL businesses should strive for. For this reason I will forever take my business and refer my friends to Crown Jewels. If this was not going on behind me, maybe I would not have left my ring for repair and given extra profits to the company. This act immediately made me want to act on my ring, which is something I've needed fixed for almost 3 years. Humanity begets humanity. My brother and I found several coins/coin collections/assorted silver while cleaning out our father's apartment after his death. We had no idea what we had or what it was worth. I looked on Yelp for a coin dealer - Crown Jewels and Coin was at the top of the list, and not too far away, so we called ahead and then went over. Lucas was very helpful on giving us information about the selection we had and his views on their valuation. We decided to go back the next day with everything and sell it. While Lucas was totaling things up Earl (the "and Coin" part of Crown Jewel and Coin) came over and while chatting we described some other 'decorative' coins we had and Earl offered to buy them. We agreed and the deal was done. We found Lucas and Earl to be engaging and knowledgeable. We feel well served in all the transactions and were very pleased with the service.
