I've been to this location several times I never knew about the classes or the back room that is held for events. We were checked in and to our surprise they had Publix platters available to eat before the tasting! Unfortunately that might be the only positive aspect of the night. Ed was the presenter and we were highly thrown off when he started the class saying when he talks for people to be quiet and his voice doesn't go any louder than how he spoke. My immediate reaction felt like I was in a classroom setting and was unable to speak to my spouse who was next to me. To kicked off the class Ed started off with a champagne toast but instead of pouring our glasses he spent 20 minutes bragging how he could open a champagne bottle without a sound. I was itching out of my seat, I didn't pay to sit in a class, quiet, to watch this technique, instead I was quite annoyed and anxious to get alcohol in me. Finally once the pours came around it was literally 2 small sips for us to try. When it came to the chocolate and wine pairing I was eager to taste each but the pours were extremely small and lessons consistent of how to say "Ghirardelli" properly. I was happy to see there were 8 wine tastings but they were all from their winery direct line which is often on sale. As to the assortment of wines, to each is own as far as taste palette but 7 out of the 8 wines were under the $15 price tag, 2 of which were ports (very similar in taste). Needless to say my spouse and I left the event and unsatisfied. The next day I answered their survey email explaining my experience and dissatisfaction. I received a call from one of the assistance store managers, Kristen, who was very sweet and apologetic who sympathized with me of my experience. Based on her phone call and reassurance I would possibly consider to book an event again however, that likelihood would be likely since the first one left such a sour taste in our mouths (even though it was full of chocolate).

I went to Basser's last week looking for a specific wine that a friend gifted me. I had never been…read morein but have heard great things. I walked in and was greeted by the owners, and felt so welcomed! I asked if they had the wine I was looking for, they didn't but he ordered it right on the spot for me! I ended up getting two bottles of a recommended wine that was delicious in the meantime. The store is greatly organized, well maintained and the staff really know their stuff. I went in today to pick up my order and got the same friendly welcome. They carry wines of all price points for all budgets.
