A bit of a mixed bag for me at Cunningham Falls…read more.. I was excited to find a listing of parks that supposedly had wheelchair accessible trails. I've never been to Cunningham Falls before and the idea of seeing a waterfall seemed lovely. However, the accessible boardwalk has strips on pretty much everything board which made me feel like I was riding a very angry horse. Each bump shot pain up my spine. I'm writing this a day later and I still hurt, and I think I'm a pretty tough chick... and the view of the falls was mostly blocked and not worth the actual pain. The Falls is more like a small stream of water that splashes down some rocks. It's a soothing noise but I was expecting something more grandiose... I suppose I could blame climate change. Most of the old stream beds are dry. We also checked out the "south beach" which I enjoyed. There's plenty of pavement, and packed gravel. I couldn't get close to the water, but that's okay because it was a sunny day and I prefer to stick to the shade. I was impressed by the fact that every picnic table has a grill nearby. If I lived closer I'd like to think I'd come to the south beach often, hide in the trees near the river, grill something delicious... but I was a several hours long trip from Dundalk, so it's unlikely that I'll return. It was a nice day-trip though. I don't regret going.

However, I felt the prices are high if the main attraction is not available. BTW, They do offer wi-fi but it doesn't really work. Additionally, there was a Halloween weekend where kids got dressed up and people decorated their RVs. It was a lot of fun. I found the staff to be polite but I would have appreciated a better transfer at check in. (Wi fi, directions to campsite, when things open, etc..) My site was level and fairly easy tip get and out. All in all I will give this place a good score but probably would only go back during the peak season.

My room had a wide range of issues which did hinder my trip and made the high price for my cabin non justifiable. The main office was closed and called back the next day which was not ideal. The events were not always timely for instance the advertised pool party didn't start getting setup until 15 minutes after advertised and it was indeed not a party. Lastly the canteen was inexcusably inefficient for grabbing a meal by the pool. You had to wait in line for 45+ minutes and then were quoted an additional 1+ hour until you would get your food. In all this park has so much potential to be better. But if cabins are not up to par, guests should be contacted in advance or given a remedy.

I had a lot of questions when I made the reservation for Stoney Brook Cabin (the wheel chair…read moreaccessible one) but I pulled the trigger and I'm so glad we did. First I'll talk about the park itself then I'll talk about the cabin, because I figure some people probably have the same questions we did. This seems like an ideal place for spring or fall camping. Probably summer too but it didn't seem like there were any swimming options at the park. They had a ton of activity options for kids but we couldn't try any because it was thanksgiving and the staff was off. Still, it looks like a super fun place for kids. Like I said before, I had a lot of questions about the cabin. It mentions that it had a grill but said nothing about a fire circle. It does, indeed have a fire circle but this cabin (I suspect due to its ADA status) was EXTRA TALL. You really couldn't cook on it or even roast marshmallows easily. On the other hand it would be pretty great for families with small kids. While the ring still got hot your kid absolutely CANNOT fall into the fire. We were there when it was cold and the heaters worked a little TOO well. It didn't seem like there was a comfy medium. They were either on and you were roasting or off and you were freezing. Still, for a winter camp it was nice to have the option. The bathroom was extra big which was also quite nice. Remember to bring EVERYTHING, including hand soap and hand towels for the bathroom. Though it kind of feels like a hotel or Airbnb you will need all the essentials. While the website states that there is Wi-Fi and a tv for watching stuff, the Wi-Fi was not available while we were there. Also, the fold out couch was kind of falling apart. If you're going with kids they probably won't mind but if it's an all adult camp group the folks stuck on the fold out will likely not be thrilled.

We tent camped here a random weekend over the summer with kids ages 4 and 11…read more Good Plenty of space at camp sites Quiet Lots of shade Limited group activities for kids Activity center with a few games Staff went above and beyond showing a movie in the activity center when it rained Not so good Gravel pads- Even with a tarp down it tore our tent. Not to mention standing on sharp, larger rocks. No thanks! Pay attention to distance to the bathroom. We lucked out and I grabbed the site right across from one. Other sites were a LOOOOOOOOONG distance away. When we visited there was a group of cub scouts that rented a few sites. They clearly should have rented more as they had everything packed to the gills- cars along the narrow road, smaller kids wandering around the road unescorted, several tents per site. It made it super dangerous to drive anywhere because KIDS. WERE. EVERYWHERE! Amazing none of them were hit with the lack of attention mixed with how dark it gets. The campground needs to enforce a rule of X campers per site. I'm all in favor of people getting out to camp, especially kiddos, except when it hinders everyone else. They have a few timed group activities. This was great for my kids, but didn't last long enough and often started late. We arrived Friday around 4 PM. The jumping pad was open from 4 30 to 5 30. We start to unpack and I decide to take my kids to the jumping pad so they don't lose out on precious playtime. We arrive and it's still closed. Around 4 50 someone pulls up in a truck, unlocks it, and drives away. By this point there's a pretty big group of kids ready to play. I think "maybe they'll give the kids extra time at the end". Nope! 5 30 on the nose and the same person pulls up and shuts things down despite all the kids still playing. Along the same lines, they opened the pads up for a couple hours Saturday morning. A group of pre-teens and teenagers dominate the jumping pad to the point where all the littler kids can't use it. Maybe they need to have timed jumps limited to certain ages so everyone can get a turn to enjoy? To avoid injury I took my 4 year old over to the pedal cart track until you realize how hard they are to pedal. It was so bad I ended up pushing our cart up a hill because we were completely stuck. It looks and sounds like fun until you realize the carts aren't in pretty shoddy condition. For the relatively low price we paid, I think 40/night, the site was definitely worth it. If they could figure out a way to expand hours for the activities, it would greatly improve the experience for families with kids. I prefer to keep my kids off their technology while camping, so mingling with other kids through activities and games help to pass the time. The activity center was helpful in that regard, but having to trade your license for balls or whatever was a bit annoying when you were done and someone else wanted to play. Luckily everyone was cool and understood, but transferring equipment was a bit of an ordeal.

We have two little kids and they loved the playground, outdoor ping pong table and outdoor movie night! The staff were amazing and very friendly to interact with during our stay. You can tell they were taking pride in the changes being made to the campground. The common areas and community room were nicely renovated with large outdoor fire pits and seating. Pastries and coffee were available in the store on weekends and regular events throughout the summer were scheduled. As a new campground/ownership, there were a few quirks that we experienced. Check in is all online and when you arrive you go directly to your site. There is no office, vehicle registration, or tags for the sites. This has its positives and potential drawbacks with monitoring who all is accessing, driving, and parking in the campground. A nice mix of sites exist, with some being cramped in, others more spacious, and some with odd placement of hookups which were tricky. They do have buddy sites for people traveling another family/rv. One issue that we did experience was the changing of the type of site we had booked. Several months prior when booking we booked a full hookup site. It wasn't until we checked in did we find out that we were moved to a water/electric only site for our stay. This was a bit of an inconvenience and when we called we were informed that they had to move a monthly customer to the full hookup site and they didn't have a sewer run to our new site yet, but there was a dump station onsite (not the same as a full hookup site). Overall the location is very nice with the trees and creek surrounding the campground. As the owners continue to make upgrades and changes to the campground I do see it becoming a great destination!

The campground has many empty spots that would be more suitable. I called them to ask for help and Chris the manager came. He did not help me with the spot. Instead he told me my rig was against the law because it wasn't Rvia certified. He threatened to kick me out five times but wouldn't right now. He asked me how much I paid for my membership which is none of his business. I have a higher tier membership but regardless he informed me that thousand trails doesn't like to sell to people like me when we were discussing full time RVers. The final time he threatened me I said if you are going to kick me out then do it but you better kick everyone else out who isn't RVIA certified. Again he said he wouldn't right now and that he just wanted to educate me on the fact I was breaking the law. He noticed another van near me and told me to come with him while he checked her. I refused but later spoke with her and she was in tears when he got done with her. After he left I looked at my membership and not being certified isn't against the law. It is recommended but not required. Chris also informed me not to go to any other thousand trail park in PA because they wouldn't let me in. I don't know if that's true but something to keep in mind. I reached out to thousand trails about the situation and wanting to know if the managers were trained to treat "members like me" that are full time this way but it's been several days and they have not responded. In some of the other reviews I saw that 10 years ago the bathhouse was under construction in the no septic hook up area. It is still closed due to construction in 2026. Of all the TT I have been to this has been by far the worst experience. Chris even mentioned that his wife wouldn't even camp at a place like this because she prefers nicer ones. That spoke volumes about the property he manages.
