A very nice campground to stay at in Gettysburg. Very close to all the Gettysburg attractions. Majority of the spots are nice and shady with W/E hook ups, fire ring and picnic table. I would like to rant about the immaculate, air conditioned bath house...just lovely! Nice and clean and well maintained. The best bath house we have seen on our road trip. There's a cool creek next to the campground. They have a really nice playground for the children and a large seating area next to it. All lit up at night with beautiful string lights. Mini golf spot, arcade games room, nice pool, cabins to rent and let's talk about their camping store...it had everything you could possibly want in there! And I'm not joking! From camping stuff to little swimmers for toddlers and Gettysburg merch. Just everything! BONUS - they have an ice cream parlor! Ahhhh! Good selection of flavours with your choice of a waffle/sugar cone or cup. Deeeelightful! Staff are so friendly and John (I think that's his name) is hilarious! We felt so welcomed. Thank you. Overall, this is a campground that has everything you need. If I could give this place a ten, I would. We'll be back next year. read more

We are a family of 4 with 2 younger children. The kids had fun at the playground which was newer set up. The adults were able to hang out at the fire pit in adirondack chairs that was set up right next to the playground. It's a nice campground with recent updates, from the public bathrooms to newly added campsites. They have activities planned all day for people to enjoy. Food trucks were planned for Friday and Saturday nights which was a nice idea. read more

Great location and friendly staff. We recently stayed at Gettysburg Campground and were pleased with the friendliness of the staff and close proximity to the battlefield. The campground has multiple activities, good burning firewood, and two dump stations, which is nice. Reading the other reviews, it became quite apparent that these guests definitely did not say in the basic RV sites in the middle of the campground, which are haphazardly arranged and packed in on top of each other. We had to move sites due to the hook-up boxes far exceeding the length of our cords. Due to the narrowness of the roads and closeness of the sites, it can be a bit challenging to back in your rig. The employee who helped us with the site markers was also a bit confused of where the one site ended and the next began. Our neighbors hose/cord had to run through the corner of our site to reach the box. There are also picnic tables and fire rings everywhere. When we arrived to our site, there were 3 tables and 4 fire rings for some reason. While the people and location were great, this really isn't what we were looking for in a campground. read more

Lots to do at Gettysburg Campground! We stayed over a short weekend and picked this campground over others purely based on the Yelp reviews. Having driven by some of the other campgrounds since arriving, I think this one truly is the best one. In addition to being right next to the Gettysburg battlefield, there are tons of activities to keep you busy at the campground - swimming pool, put-put golf, shuffle board, horseshoes, hiking, and peddle cars are just a few. No need to bring your own equipment, either. You can check out what you need at the main office, free of charge. He staff is very friendly and helpful. I had some tire issues, and they did everything they could to help out. Every encounter was positive. There are two drawbacks which keep me from rating this 5 stars. First, the campsites are very close together, especially if you stay in the "sun deck" area. You can almost here the person in the next camper over breathing. Next, the WiFi. When you check in, you're given 2 device-specific WiFi logins. Once you log in, you can only use the device you logged in with. For a family of 4 with multiple devices, this can create some issues. For some, it's no big deal. All-in-all, our stay was a positive experience. It's a good choice for a stay in Gettysburg. read more

This campground was most enjoyable to visit. We were along the stream in a good sized site. The site is paved with gravel and is fairly well level. Lots of trees. Easy access to the restroom/showers, etc. The staff is friendly and most helpful. The park is clean and in good repair. The security crew was making rounds to ensure visitors safety. Repair crews also made rounds to ensure sites were well maintained. The store was well stocked with items necessary for camping (such as ice, etc.). Facilities include a play area for kids, a miniature golf course, laundry facility, horse shoes, and large grass area for playing ball, etc. This was our second visit and will obviously be more visits in the future. We highly recommend this campground for and enjoyable camping experience. read more

Great campground near Gettysburg National Park. The sites are shaded and it is very quiet during the week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of the sites have some close trees but we managed just fine with our 29' trailer and truck. Good spacing on sites. Loved this place! I am so glad we chose this campground over the others in the area because our tent site was right on a creek - how cute is that? There are plenty of sites with water and electricity as well, the roads are a bit narrow but what do you expect. I love that the speed limit at this place is 6 1/2 mph - I mean how does one even drive at that rate? It just lends to the charm of this adorable campground. My only complaint is that the pool closes for the season after Labor Day and we all know that the Northeast does not cool down on September 1st just because we say so - we visited the weekend after Labor Day and it was super hot - we all brought our bathing suits but didn't have a chance to use them - maybe next time! The campground is equipped with a playground (with an old school merry go-round - love it!), miniature golf, a general store with prices that are better than Walmart's and Gettysburg souvenirs. This is a must stay if you are wanting to camp near Gettysburg - they even have cabins to rent which we may check out the next time we are in town!! And their website is easy to navigate unlike other sites...so check them out! read more

The campground and surrounding area itself was nice, however the sites are incredibly too small. Everyone is on top of each other and you can barely get a camper AND a vehicle on most sites. Also, the bathrooms were horribly disgusting with toilet paper, dirt, and trash all over the floor. When the campground is full, the bathrooms really need to be cleaned more than just once a day. Golf carts driving at an extremely fast pace is very concerning and we actually confronted a golf cart regarding their speed. It was a bunch of teenagers under 18, completely unsupervised and disrespectful. read more

I've been coming to this campground yearly since 2015 with the North East Truck Camping Jamboree and enjoy myself every year. The staff takes care of you from the start, and we have never had an issue. We were in a more wooded section this year, and it did give my in-laws some issues getting their trailer into the site, but once it was parked we were good to go. The bathrooms are always clean, they always have things to do in the pavilion, and there's an ice cream shop on site! Can't beat it, we will be returning next year! read more

We were here two weekends in a row. First weekend was great site was beside the tent area. Second weekend was fine BUT the spot was horrible. I booked it while staying the first weekend. It was to be a pull through site #215 we get there around 9 and there is a truck parked in our site, driver wasn't to be found, so we are unable to pull through. So we had to figure out how to back in between two trees with maybe 2 feet clearance on each side. The neighbor told us he was told no one was to be using that site because of the trees needing cut down. There was no fire ring. Then when we were leaving since the trees where so tight on both the sides and a tree in front the back part of the camper hit the tree. Not happy with the stay! There are too many trees too close together. read more

We chose this campground based on Yelp reviews and Good Sam Club rating (very high!) We were not disappointed! #1 in our opinions is the need for good bathrooms, which are very nice and clean. #2 is spaciousness of the campsites, which were very adequate. We had a back in spot on the creek. Very nice and shady. #3 is proximity to local attractions, including downtown Gettysburg and museum/auto tour. Only about 3 miles away. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping district. Highly recommend this campground! read more

Upon entry into the park, It was dusk, around 7PM. I stopped and went into the office, and was told that my paperwork was in shed, This was my first time here, and there were several employees in the office, and none offered to take me to my site. I found my site, and Had to pull up to reposition. Upon doing this, I hit a low hanging wire with the top of my camper. I stopped and checked for damage, with the only damage found was the one pole was pulled to about a 80 degree angle, making the wire hang lower. There were people who saw it and then employees came to evaluate, and take pictures. Upon further discussion, I was told that other wires had been hit as well. My camper is 12'6". The owner called me the next day, and indicated that he was getting it fixed, at my expense(I obviously hit it, but it shouldn't have been an issue.) I called my insurance company, and fortunately were able to get it covered. I don't think it should have been my responsibility, as there are plenty of campers my height. Just leaves a bad first impression of a beautiful place. read more

We enjoyed the creek and amenities like mini golf and evening activities that are included in cost of site rental. We had a tent site by the creek which was nice. Site was small but fine. Did not enjoy the bathroom situation. If you are at a tent site you have porta potties only unless you want to walk five minutes to the bathroom. Potties were pretty gross too. Actual larger bathrooms were small and tight with 2-3 stalls, 3 showers, 3 sinks and only one hand dryer. Facilities were pretty clean for the most part. I would not choose to camp there again and find another location next time. read more

We have stayed here twice. Very well kept campground. Lush trees, water access, on site activities and a nice pool. Sites are of good size and layout. The bath houses are clean, well attended. However, they are a bit out dated. We will return. read more

I will begin by saying that this campground is awesome!! Great staff, clean and quiet park will friendly guest. We go here once a year for bike week, and it's always a fantastic experience. John remembers us from year to year, and makes it a point to stop by the camp and make sure all is good. Now the down side...and this doesn't effect 99.5 percent of the campers out there, but it does a few of us. There are no accommodations for those of us that have some form of mobility issues. I'm an above knee amputee, and this year I met four other amputees at the campground. I have a full bathroom in my motorhome, but it's small. It would be nice to have a roll in shower with a heavy duty bench seat. We're all not featherweights after all. LoL There is a lift to assist someone in and out of the pool if needed, but no place to shower afterwards. I don't believe that it's an unreasonable request to have an ADA bathroom. read more

Overall the campground is fine - the spots are a little small and the mini golf is a joke, but the real issue is the grouchy old man who drives around in his golf cart harassing campers. Our friends were walking over to our campground with a 12 pack of beer (which is allowed) and he lectured us on walking around with beer (even though my friend was clearly drinking a soda at the time). This was annoying but we got over it. Next we came back at night to our site and he tracked us down and started yelling at us in front of my children. He said he "didn't know what he was going to do with us and if he had his way he would call the state police to evict us that night". I had no clue what he was talking about - turns out he thinks we were going too fast through the campground (the speed limit is 6.5mph and I was going maybe 10mph through a mostly empty campground). He then said he was going to call his boss to see what he wanted to do - then we never heard back. It really freaked out my kids and they were worried the police were coming for them. Even if we were going too fast, this is no way to treat guests, and based on other reviews this isn't the first time. The worst part is that on one night we had some random dudes burning crates and moving their car around until 2am - and nothing was done about that but if you go 10mph they are going to call the cops on you! There are plenty of places to camp in Gettysburg, I would avoid this one. read more

Ok we went for our annual trip this past weekend for memorial day. So much worse than previous years. There was NO Karaoke. The ceramics consisted of 6 statues when there use to be a ton to choose from. They switched the vendor for the market place that you could buy from that came in from outside. There was no kickball tournament like previous years and the DJ who usually comes on saturday night did not come. I pleaded with DH not to book again for next year, but he did... sigh They now have a diner where you can buy breakfast but it's a very small selection and it was quite dreadful. She packed up everything to go although we didn't specify it to go so we ate it there. I asked for a plate and they lady about had a heart attack. She was opening up stuff and acted all confused about why I would need a plate, I just friggin want one, get it! After all that, and her throwing our food around for about 5 minutes, I never recieved a plate. On top of all the bad experiences here the attractions are closing down. No boyds bears, no exotic animal rescue... im pretty pissed but that didn't effect my review of this place read more

My daughter and I love to go camping! THE GOOD: when we got there it was nice and calm they have a pool a mini golf course and horseshoes, game room, ice cream place and gift shop. It's a good place to go if you want to go to Hershey park for the day or go down and look at the historical museums and places. There will be workers there driving in golf carts up and down the sites asking if you need help. At every site there is a fire pit and a picnic table. You might want to bring a table cloth. THE BAD: very little in this category!! It gets very very buggy at night. It gets freezing at night definitely recommend a sweat shirt and a blow up mattress b/c it is very rocky. read more

We stayed here in our toy hauler with 2 medium sized dogs near marsh creek. The dogs loved cooling off in the creek. The campground was very clean and dog friendly. Lots of dog poop bags and disposal. Lots of activities: swimming, mini golf, horse shoes, play ground, baseball, volley ball and organized campground activities. Showers and restrooms were very clean. Campground store has necessary supplies reasonably priced. Would definitely come back. read more

NOT real camping. I will say firs that I am a 'camping' person - that involves staying in the woods, close to nature, etc. While I suspect this is a great place if you want to stay in your RV all day, it just doesn't 'do' it for me. We were on a creekside site, which was kind of cool, but there is a housing development right across...so not exactly like being 'away from it all'. Decent wi-fi which is important to my husband (I like the convenience but really couldn't care less) We were in a pop up, I only saw one other. Lots of fancy trailers and 5th wheels. So....I won't return. The prevoius reviews that complain about the poor choices for cermics, well, that kind of says it all. The bathrooms were adequate but VERY cold when I went for my usual late-night visit. read more

My family and I parked our RV here in July. There's a lot to do here with the rec hall, mini golf course, volleyball net, playground, pool, and a creek for fishing. It was super fun for all ages and close to the town. However, there isn't a lot of space between the campers so it's tight. Also, only 2 cars are allowed at each site which didn't work for our family of 5 adults. They were very strict with how many people are at each campsite and made us pay $5 per person for anyone extra. Overall it was a good time. read more

One night stay. I was given the most beautiful spot for my tent. Right on the water. It was serene but also not too secluded. Nice campground. We stayed in a full hookup site in a 38' 5th wheel. Very roomy and not too unlevel. Laundry facilities kept very clean. Did not use the on site bathrooms but heard from others how clean they were. Close to grocery, gas and Civil War sites but far enough out to avoid the traffic and busy weekends in town. Security was very visible. Always stopping at the pool to make sure kids were behaving, with adults and following rules. Same at campsites, seemed he was always looking for someone to reprimand. Overall enjoyed the week here and would recommend to anyone visiting Gettysburg. read more

This was our second time coming to this campground. And it will always be our first choice. There are some sites that are smaller then others. Have to email to make sure if your camper will fit in site. We have a few favorites 105, 107, 136, 158, 212. Showers are very clean and well kept. read more

Great stay (last weekend 8-21-23/15). There was a group of 10 of us. Each group of 2 had our own sites. They were accommodating trying to put each of us together as best as possible. The only person that could not was because had was pulling a behemoth 5er. The GOOD: Sites were clean and staff was very courteous. They show you to your site and offer assistance when backing in and hooking up. They were evenly spaced apart and I did not feel as though we were on top of each other. I also liked the fact that they have yellow striping on the gravel to show folks where there campsite boundaries are located. Bathrooms were clean and smelled that way. All of the paths around the site were well lit to and from the bath house. Security made numerous checks around the campground during the evening hours. The BAD: We only had one "unruly" group that was a few sites down from us. The did quiet down at 11 PM which is the campgrounds quite time. They were loud with their music and talking but did quiet down eventually. This is not their fault but I think they should start their quite time a bit earlier at 10 PM instead of 11 PM. The only way to quiet them down before hand was to close the windows on my TT. Not what I wanted to do since it was very nice and cool this past weekend. Overall...a wonderful experience. We will visit again. Possibly as soon as this weekend. read more

Small fire pit and picnic table though ours was about 20 feet away from neighbors - felt like we were all together. Heard them reading bedtime story, while the party folks on the other side carried on for a while. Next to a creek and everything else but the privacy issue makes this a hit if looking for a cheap place to stay in Gettysburg. read more

Fresh off a weekend camping trip, I've got good and bad to report for GCG. Overall, this place is great. We go at least once a year in our travel trailer. The weekend activities (bingo with free prizes, crafts, hay rides, etc.), size/layout/orientation of electric/water on the sites, and the location keep us going back even though GCG is on the west side of town and we live in Baltimore and have to pass several other Gettysburg CGs to get there. Our profile is husband/wife, 5rd old kid, 26' trailer, been camping since 2008. First, the bad since that's probably what you came here to see. Quiet hours are simply not enforced here. Last year we had a Harley crew with 6 motorcycles idling for 25 minutes at 7am while they sipped coffee, not to mention their loud music all day long. This year (2 days ago) we had a crew of pop-up campers spread over several purchased sites and several vacant sites. They stacked 3 fire rings, and were up till 3:30am. We finally went out at 3am and asked them to keep it down. One guy next to us had his music on and he wasn't even at his site. The workaround? You need to get a site around the open field or one of the sites on the main paved drive. They are full hookup and they fill soon, but the campers there tend to be a lot more courteous. I tent camp in the winter, so I know how inconsiderate tent (and some pop-up) camper patrons are (I'm loud when I tent camp too which is why we do it in the winter when no one else is out). Another thing not enforced is the alcohol policy. The 3am crew was drinking beer from a cup and possibly Red Bull/Vodka the next night at the DJ party. Same crew downed Corona in a bottle while waiting for the hay ride. Anyone who has experience camping will know that what I have just described is not unusual. The absence of this is the reason we use to love this place. I think maybe they need a daytime and 11:30pm enforcer to really patrol the campground on weekends instead of perm site volunteers/retirees who probably tend to shy away from the conflict involved with pro-active enforcement of rules. Btw, quiet hrs are 11pm-8am and alcohol policy requires that you keep it on your site. The good list is long too. Some of the site layouts make it hard to position for electric and sewer, but vast majority are just fine. They have limited sewer sites, but big deal...just pay $8 for the pump-out service. It's worth it considering that the sites without sewer cost less anyway. Definitely don't rule out coming here just because you can only get an electric/water site. Most lanes are wide for the truck to turn while backing in, and I've never had problems with positioning for pull-through or back-in sites. Sites are pretty level too. My kid loves the playground and activities. Free mini-golf. The pool is very clean and full sun, so it's usually warm. Their rec hall is also outstanding. Big indoor area and big patio area. They have two dump stations, and I've never seen a line to dump when exiting. The owner of this place is super nice and shows a lot of care for the campground and campers. Nothing has the look or feel of being run down. Entry and registration processes are great too. They are well staffed on Friday afternoon/evening. Did I also mention how friendly the staff is? They are 5 star for sure, and I say this based on our entire history of camping here over the past 7 years. We will definitely go back here, but in the future we will be more selective about site location. Last, today is Sunday morning. I'm home because they started an orderly evacuation of the campground last night around 1am due to fear of the creek rising after tropical storm Bill remnants came through and dropped about 1 1/2 inch. We left around 3am Sunday, so it was a rough night, but the owner did offer at 2pm Saturday bingo to refund anyone who wanted to pro-actively leave before the 6pm-10pm Saturday evening monsoon. After the 1am evacuation, my understanding is that we will get a refund for one night. Honestly, I'm ok even if we do not. It was amazing to see everyone leaving in such an orderly manner at 2/3am in the morning. Never seen anything like it. In summary, I know there is a fine line between enforcing rules and alienating campers, but I think pro-active enforcement of quiet hours is a must. You can't wait for complaints to come in from angry guests. Even so, this place is a notch above most. read more
