We just rented our first RV from Cruise America in Nipomo and this review is mainly to thank Katherine for the great customer service. From our first interaction with her when we called to say we were behind schedule in pick-up, she was very friendly and let us know we still had plenty of time to get there. Once there, she was very knowledgeable and thorough in giving the orientation and made us feel very comfortable before we drove away. Upon return, again, Katherine greeted us so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us again. As for the RV, my husband and I rented the 25' for a 9 day trip to the Grand Canyon. This was perfect size for us and our two small dogs. It was clean upon pick up, and everything functioned well. We brought disinfectant wipes before pick up, as we thought we'd have to wipe everything down, but it was so clean, we didn't feel the need. This was my husbands first time driving an RV, and while the first couple of hours took getting used to, by the second day, he drove it as comfortably as his own truck. I have rented a motorhome three times from Cruise America in Nipomo, and I have been happy each time I went there. The motorhomes were always clean and in good working order. The last two times I rented I got a motorhome with solar panels on the roof, so we didn't need to use the generator at all. Matt, the young man at the rental office, took his time to show me all the motorhome's features and made sure I understood how everything worked, For the money, I think a Cruise America motorhome is one of the best vacation deals out there. My only suggestion for improvement is that they be a bit more flexible with the return time, since having to return the motorhome by 12:00 cuts into precious vacation time. My family and I recently rented a 25 RV from this place to go camping in. DJ and Summer where very helpful. We had never rented an RV before. They were clear with the rental procedures and expectations. DJ was able to accommodate us with an early pick up since we were renting during the week. That is not always possible from what I understand. Summer was very explanatory during the orientation and answered all our questions. Turn in was smooth too. Horrible. Had a reservation for a motor home for 3 weeks. One day before our family trip they cancelled our reservation with an option to drive 3 hours further to pick another one up! Would never use again!! Very unprofessional! read more

This place is so amazing. My family and I were heading out from San Diego area yesterday morning and ran into a lot of traffic. BJ was so awesome!!!! He stayed after closing time to wait for us. I can't thank you enough!!! We would have been stuck at Pismo Beach sleeping on the sand. We have a lot of kids ranging from 17-6 years old so it would not have been fun!! We rented the RV with pickup in Nipomo. Check in and out was very smooth. We would rent from them again.

3 hours into our trip the vehicle overheated caused by a lack of a radiator cap and all the fluid evaporating. Customer service first call went ok. We're told to wait 30 minutes for it to cool off. Started vehicle and it overheated in 5 minutes. Opened the hood and discovered the missing cap. Found a Jiffy Lube who fixed the issue. Was told by customer service to have them call to get an authorization number. After 20 minutes on hold, gave up and paid out of pocket and called local rental place for verbal approval. Refrigerator also didn't stay cool. Overall, vehicle was old with more than 112,000 miles. Added 3 hours to our first day and caused us caution as we were going through the desert. Passenger side console burned our feet. Cut our trip short and were given a refund for the unused days and reimbursed for the repair costs. Reason for 2 stars vs 1 star was the local team apologized and reimbursed us for the unused days. read more

Horrible Service and do not trust a word they say..Rented a motor home and the sewer was over filled and there was feces on the mattress. The fridge was dirty and there was grime and grease all over stove..The gas tank was empty and i brought it back full and they would not give me credit. Horrible and untrustworthy people that manage the rental yard and manage the front desk. read more
