I wanted to share a experience i had at Carpinteria this weekend .. iam disabled i had a ada site i was on my final steps finishing my stuff to leave when a man came up behind me asking when I was leaving I said in 10 minutes it was 11:55 he said check out it 12 I explained yes but being disabled i just need to make sure it's all done right .. I then said check in is at 2 he said I can check in anytime I want iam a rental company 101 I said ok give me 10 min he said check out is 12 and stood behind me making me nervous I advised the camp host she said that's the owner and that they fo not have that right ... very upsetting .. just FYI they have a very lucrative contract but to push me out wow ... read more

First time using 101 RV Rentals, was the best decision we ever made. The service and walk thru with Sean was perfect. We felt a sense of warmth when it came to there customers. The trailers are all very very clean, well taken care of. The bathrooms are a nice size, as well the refrigerators. Beds are very comfortable kids were very happy.we are normal tent campers but I think now we found our next camping trip back to Refugio will definitely be renting from here again. read more

I had two major vacations planned this summer (2020) when this COVID crisis began affecting everything. I lost a big $ deposit on the first vacation from a well established company "because we spent some time organizing things and this pandemic is hitting us hard too..." 101 RV was the complete opposite! Small family owned company also getting hit hard with cancellations, gave me a refund when the campground cancelled my reservations - even though by the letter of their policy they could have kept my $. Instead they made a decision to do the right thing under difficult and unique circumstances. I appreciate and applaud this company and I hope this post inspires someone else to use this company - I know I will next summer!! read more

Very disappointing. False advertising. Their photos show a beautiful trailer with a large tv. Our trailer was old and dumpy. The tv was ridiculously tiny and the DVD player didn't work. The windows and blinds were faulty. The worst was after 3 hours away, we came back to the trailer smelling like an outhouse in 90 degree weather. 101 RV said it was the OceanMesa campground's sewage system but OceanMesa said it was the trailer's bad seals. It didn't smell outside the trailer so I agree with OceanMesa. We stayed just 2 of the 3 nights because I couldn't stand another night in that trailer. For $250. a night we could have stayed at a nice hotel! (And we happily went to a hotel for our last night.) The most disappointing part was they made no attempt to compensate us at all. Even an apology goes a long way with me. OceanMesa rightly and kindly refunded our 3rd night. Two thumbs down for 101 RV Rentals. read more

I believe you can tell a lot about a business based on how they handle problems. Let me start by saying the trailer was delivered beautiful and on time. Two days into our four-day stay, our son hit their trailer with our car, both vehicles were totalled. (Thankfully, no one was injured.) They came and picked up their trailer within 1/2 an hour, and brought us out a new trailer within two hours. After our insurance took care of the expenses, we received our damage deposit back. it's our first time renting a trailer, and the fact that they deliver it to El Capitan SB is very good for us since I don't want the stress of driving a big RV. Also, by having a trailer, we can still have our own car to go in and out of the camp site for other activities. We have used this company three times. It is very convenient to have a trailer there when you go camping however, they do not do a good job of keeping the trailer up. All of the blinds on our trailer were broken and bent. The trailer was very used. The air-conditioner did not work. Melissa is very nice. I just think that they need to invest more money in keeping the trailers up or switching them out every couple years. Between the $250 a day and the $60 for the campsite we could've stayed in a very nice hotel. A hotel that would've had a later check out then 10 AM. My husband was very disappointed. read more

Loved it - actually the kids may have loved it more. Easy to arrange the drop off - Melissa was providing updates on the exact timing. Once on sight, took 5 minutes to be placed and ready. I rented a Class C RV for our annual trip to Yosemite and it was a wonderful experience. The rig was super clean and Don's service was 2nd to none. I had a minor hitch on the way back and Don was available and able to assist. I plan on renting a travel trailer for my upcoming trip to Morro Bay because of the positive experience. read more

Worst experience ever. This is the second time we used them and the first time they had to come out and change out our trailer because they left food in the oven after cleaning it after their last renters and when I lifted the foil to see what was in the dirty baking dish, I was greeted by a colony of maggots and putrid stench! But I thought, that could happen to anyone so decided to give them another chance. This time, the toilet tank indicator light showed it was full the second we got there but they said it was fine when we called. Then the electricity started to go out but we didn't know it until it was too late. Instead of coming out to help us, they tried to tell us how to fix it over the phone, in the dark. They obviously knew what the problem was because their solution would work for a second and then, it wouldn't. They left us literally in the dark with four kids, three moms and no help. Our food went bad. We were freezing at night with no heat. We were unprepared for this and would never recommend this company to anyone!!!! I think they rent them out so fast, they don't care about their condition since they have a monopoly at some of the State beaches. Too bad. I wish there was a more reputable company that we could call next time. read more

Avoid these people at all costs. They ruined our vacation by renting us an RV that had serious mechanical issues. They took no responsibility to make the situation right while we were in Yosemite and blamed everything on us along the way. The owner Don knew little about the vehicle he rented us and could not offer a fix. He then refused to issue a reasonable refund saying that their "contract" did not require that they do so. Our RV had a battery that had been replaced improperly according to the AAA mechanic at Yosemite Village (who finally diagnosed what was wrong) which caused our RV's electric system to short out. This made the generator unusable (it needs electricity to start and the battery that does that could not be charged due to this defect). This meant that we could not use the generator or the lights or make hot water by day 3 of our week long trip. I later found out that 101 RV rentals does not own this RV and rents it out for the owner and that this RV has had serious mechanical issues in the past requiring a total engine replacement. Don offered us a $300 credit for an RV rental that was over $1600 for the week. We explained to him that this was not adequate and he just said that was too bad. On top of everything - When we returned the RV it was thoroughly checked out by their manager Melissa, but then two weeks later we were charged for a glass shelf and refrigerator molding claiming that these were broken by us (they were not). What a surprise that these additional charges basically ate up the credit Don offered. Next time we will rent from a more established company who owns and maintains the RV's the rent. read more

Everyone at this company was friendly and professional. It's great to have a trailer there and waiting for you when you arrive at the beach!! It is, of course, expensive; but SOOO much better than if you'd spent that same amount on a hotel. You are right at the beach - the fabulous sounds and smells are there with you all day and night. 101% amazing! I have to admit I was a little skeptical because you never know how clean or nice the trailer is going to be especially when booking something online or b phone. I first spoke with Don who assured me I would have a great experience. When I was contacted by Melissa to confirm my reservation and go over the details she again assured me we would have a wonderful experience. We did! The trailer was absolutely awesome, clean and plenty spacious for our family. Surprisingly the bed in the master was super comfy. Our daughter slept. On the convertible couch with was plenty larger enough for a 4 ur old and he cousin even stayed over 1 night and it was still fine for the two of them. We didn't use the bunkbeds but I would recommend bringing something to make them for comfortable. The mattress on those is very thin. We will absolutely use the company again. I just want to take a minute to rave about 101 RV Rentals by the animal shelter. My parents just bought a used RV from them and the whole experience was amazing. So professional and they even fixed a couple of things that were broken free of charge when they didn't have to as they were selling it for a client and took almost 2 hours to teach us how everything works since we were clueless. The price was fantastic too. Way better than any other deal we've seen and both Don and Melissa were so patient. Highly recommend them! read more
